INTRODUCTION Thank you for choosing ScorpionTrack Marine to protect your marine craft. The ScorpionTrack (ST62) Marine tracking system offers the following security features: Craft location via web based account pages on PC or smart phone devices 24hr protection Craft battery low txt alert Main power disconnection txt alert Movement txt alert Bespoke modes for land protection and waterbourne protection Bread Crumb Trail for ultimate location history This guide is designed to help you through the online installation, registration processes along with the operation of all key product features. In the event of receiving an alert notification from your ScorpionTrack marine unit, you will be required to be confident of an unlawful movement prior to contacting the Police authority local to the current location of the craft. Upon reporting the theft, you will be supplied with a Crime Reference number which will be required for any further correspondence with the Police regarding the incident. If you witness the crime in progress please contact the Police on 999 and state that the crime is in progress and that you have a self monitored tracking device installed. CUSTOMER REGISTRATION Prior to the installation of your ST62 unit, it is imperative that the product and customer registration are completed. This can be undertaken by visiting https://scorpiontrack.com/marine/register. Please follow the online instructions leading you into the registration process. You will be required to enter your unit, craft and personal details in order to create your unique user account. Upon completion of the registration pages you will be emailed your unique account log in details. This will enable you to administer your account, complete subscription options and access the installation and configuration instructions for your system. NOTE: it is your responsibility to ensure that all details entered are correct and kept up to date on an ongoing basis in the event that ScorpionTrack need to contact you. 3

INSTALLATION It is imperative that the customer registration process is completed prior to the installation of your ST62 unit. Upon completion of the customer registration process, access to your installation and configuration instructions will be gained through your unique Marine account log in. Once you have registered, chosen your method of subscription, installed and configured your ScorpionTrack (ST62) Marine system, the following protection modes and options will be available on your dashboard within your online account. PROTECTION MODES There are four main user controlled modes of protection available for your craft. In order to ensure the appropriate level of protection with limited false alerts is achieved, it is important that the correct mode is selected at all times. In addition to the main protection modes, switchable key guard and battery power mode options are also available on each of the main modes. To change the protection mode or update the craft position, the website must contact the unit. The unit can only be contacted when it is awake. When the unit is powered from the ScorpionTrack battery (see Power Modes) the unit will be awake whilst the ignition is on and for approximately one hour after the ignition is turned off; whereas when powered from the craft battery the unit will only be awake whilst the ignition is on. The unit may stay awake in certain situations as outlined in the text alert information below. ENABLE/DISABLE MODE This is termed System Enable/Disable on the website. When the unit is disabled text alerts will be disabled except for Internal Battery Low text alerts which will still be sent. Selecting any of the other armed modes will re-enable the system. This mode should be used if the craft is under maintenance or serviced to avoid false alarms. NOTE: protection can only be reinstated by manually selecting one of the following protection modes via your account log in. LAND MODE Land mode should be selected for protection whenever storage on land or trailer is required. Land mode offers the following protection: Movement Detected Within Geofence alert will generate a txt alert indicating a local movement of the craft Vehicle Battery Disconnect alert will generate a txt alert if the craft battery power is disconnected Vehicle Battery Low alert will generate a txt alert indicating a low charge within the craft battery Geofence Detected Without Ignition will generate a txt alert indicating a movement of approximately quarter of a mile from rest point 4

SHORT TERM WATER STORAGE Short Term Water Storage mode should be selected if the craft is being moored on water for up to 4 hours. This mode operates in a different manner than land mode in order to avoid false txt alerts and offers the following protection: Vehicle Battery Disconnect alert will generate a txt alert if the craft battery power is disconnected Vehicle Battery Low alert will generate a txt alert indicating a low charge within the craft battery Geofence Detected Without Ignition will generate a txt alert indicating a movement of approximately quarter of a mile from rest point NOTE: in order to enhance security in this mode, see KEY GUARD and POWER MODE on page 6. LONG TERM WATER STORAGE In order to enhance battery standby and protection times, INSTANT Geofence Detected Without Ignition alerts are not available in this mode. Therefore, to enhance battery performance, location will ONLY be checked and reported by the system every 60 mins. Vehicle Battery Disconnect alert will generate a txt alert if the craft battery power is disconnected Vehicle Battery Low alert will generate a txt alert indicating a low charge within the craft battery Geofence Detected Without Ignition will generate a txt alert indicating a movement of approximately quarter of a mile from rest point NOTE: in order to enhance security in this mode, see KEY GUARD and POWER MODE on page 6. TRANSPORT MODE To avoid false movement alerts, this mode should be selected if the craft is being transported by any means and once selected will disable the movement alert txts but continue to offer alerts on the following: Vehicle Battery Disconnect alert will generate a txt alert if the craft battery power is disconnected Vehicle Battery Low alert will generate a txt alert indicating a low charge within the craft battery 5

NOTE: Regardless of the mode selected, the last known location will be available on demand via PC or smart phone 24 hours a day and a historic Bread Crumb position trail is available via your marine account dashboard. In addition to the main protection modes, the following options are also selectable. KEY GUARD This will offer protection against key theft and will alert if the craft is moved with ignition on, i.e., moored at sea, keys stolen and craft moved under power. A Geofence Detected With Ignition txt alert will be sent, whereas, movement with ignition under normal protection modes would not trigger an alert. POWER MODE Due to the importance of retaining battery power at all times to cater for any theft situations, it is important to ensure the best possible battery charge times. This is a trade off between craft battery life and ScorpionTrack Marine charge time. With this in mind, the user is offered a choice of powering the unit, from either the ScorpionTrack battery when ignition is off or by using the craft battery at all times. Note that if the craft battery option is chosen, the peace of mind feature of low battery txt alert will monitor the craft battery and alert if running low. ScorpionTrack recommend this option when the unit is used infrequently or put into Long Term Storage. Note that under normal use the internal ScorpionTrack battery will recharge only when the ignition of the main craft is on. However, the internal battery can be charged when the ignition is off by applying a battery charger to the craft. TXT ALERTS In order to ensure the txt alert service is active for all of the above alerts, you must ensure that your txt credit is maintained. This can be checked and purchased online via your secure login and dashboard for your marine craft. After every text alert is sent, the unit will endeavour to update the server so that the craft position where the alert occurred can be viewed. TXT ALERT SUMMARY VEHICLE BATTERY LOW Active modes: Land mode, Short Term Water Storage mode, Long Term Water Storage mode, Transport mode. Reason: Sent when the craft voltage drops below 10+/-0.3V. Occurrence: No more than one message per day. Once sent will not send again until the craft voltage first rises above 11+/-0.3V. Unit behaviour: If the ignition is off and the unit was dormant, it will return to a dormant state following the text message. 6

VEHICLE BATTERY DISCONNECT Active modes: Land mode, Short Term Water Storage mode, Long Term Water Storage mode, Transport mode. Reason: Sent when either the craft voltage falls more than 75% over 8 seconds or the voltage falls below 1V. Occurrence: No more than one message per day. Once sent will not send again until the craft voltage first rises above 11+/-0.3V. Unit behaviour: If the ignition is off and the unit was dormant, it will return to a dormant state following the text message. MOVEMENT DETECTED WITHIN GEOFENCE Active modes: Land mode. Reason: Sent when movement of the unit has been detected for over 6 seconds when the ignition is off. Occurrence: No more than one message every 2 minutes. Once sent will not send again until movement subsides. Unit behaviour: If the ignition is off and the unit was dormant, it will return to a dormant state once the movement has subsided. GEOFENCE DETECTED WITH IGNITION OFF Active modes: Land mode, Short Term Water Storage mode, Long Term Water Storage mode. Reason: Sent when the craft is moved more than 300 meters with the ignition off. NOTE: in Long Term Water Storage mode checks for geofence events are only carried out every hour. Occurrence: Only sent once per geofence incident. Unit behaviour: If the ignition is off and the unit was dormant, the unit will remain awake until the geofence is cleared. A geofence can be cleared by turning on the ignition. GEOFENCE DETECTED WITH IGNITION ON Active modes: Can be active in any mode, except unit disabled, but requires the key guard function to be enabled. Reason: Sent when the craft is moved more than 300 meters with the ignition on. Occurrence: Only sent once per geofence incident. Unit behaviour: The ignition is on, therefore the unit will be awake. A geofence can be cleared by turning off the ignition. 7

MOVEMENT DETECTED WITHOUT GPS Active modes: Land mode, Short Term Water Storage mode, Long Term Water Storage mode. Reason: Sent when the unit detects continuous movement for over 3 minutes without available GPS signal. NOTE: in Long Term Water Storage mode checks for geofence events are only carried out every hour. Occurrence: May be sent every 3 minutes if movement continues without a GPS signal. Unit behaviour: If the ignition is off and the unit was dormant, the unit will stay awake until the geofence is cleared. A geofence can be cleared by turning on the ignition. UNIT INTERNAL BATTERY LOW Active modes: permanently enabled in all protection modes Reason: Sent when the internal battery reaches a level that may cause text messages and website positional updates to stop working Occurrence: No more than one message per day. Once sent will not send again until the internal battery voltage first rises above a safe level. Unit behaviour: If the ignition is off and the unit was dormant, it will return to a dormant state following the text message. If the unit is set to internal power mode the unit will automatically attempt to change to external power mode until such time as the internal battery is charged. The unit s internal battery is charged when the ignition is on. It can also be charged by applying a battery charger to the craft s battery. When the internal battery is charging via a battery charger with the ignition off, the unit s red and green LEDs will both illuminate.
