Issue 1.0 Fall 2011 S OUTH FLORIDA CORVAIR TIMES Using the Web for Corvair Info If you have a news story, event or something else of interest to report to the Membership, please let us know for the next issue. The South Florida Corvair Club has been great and I highly recommend membership for anyone interested in Corvairs. Another great source for info is the that great series of connected tubes, commonly called the Internet. The Internet has added a huge extra dimension for Corvair owners who were often isolated, dependent on an oil stained Chassis Manual and a 1995 Clark s Corvair Catalog. Today you can get all things Corvair with a click of the mouse. Your web starting point should be corvair.org, home of the national Corvair club. The site has tons of Corvair information, including events and copies of Communique, the club s magazine. Since Corvairs need special parts beyond what ebay can supply, there are several online vendors that offer extensive parts and catalogs. The granddaddy is corvair.com, home to Clark s Corvair Parts. Coming in a close second is corvairunderground.com. Both Clark s and Underground have been in business for over 37 years, and can source almost any part, new, nos, used and repro. Other reputable vendors include rafeecorvair.com, corvairranch.com and californiacorvairparts.com Technical support for Corvairs is also just a click away at the many Corvair forums on the Web. The largest (where you ll find our president lurking at all hours to answer questions) is corvaircenter.com. With 458 full pages of posts and a fast search, it is the source for Corvair info. The only drawback is the one board for all posts. If you prefer separate boards for different topics, the best site is corvairforum.com which has 27 separate sections in which to post. Other popular forums include vaircooled.com, vv.corvair.org (for its searchable archive) and the virtualcorvair- (Continued on page 6)

Please send articles to the editor at: mjposner1@gmail.com Prez Sayz Hello everyone in Corvair land. It has been a very long time a newsletter has gone out to the members of South Florida Corvair Club, there has been a lot of changes in 3 plus years our club has not had a publication. For most of our members the newsletter will be the best way to keep up with the meetings and events that our club participates. Thanks to a member suggestion, the help from all of you and some new members South Florida Corvair Club will be putting out a newsletter to keep it s members up to date. Here are just a few changes that have come to South Florida Corvair Club in the past year. One of the biggest changes was the club has moved the monthly meeting north to Braman Honda on Lake Worth Rd (special thanks to Wayne for securing us this location). The meeting is still the first Tuesday of the month at 7:30 just the location has moved a little north. This move has helped the club retain some long time members and at the same time increased the number of total members. For the last 4 or 5 months we have had one or two new members per meeting. Members still are driving from as far south as Fort Lauderdale and as far north as Jupiter, and at the last meeting we had 9 Corvairs!! That is almost as many as I had at my wedding. Oh yeah, one more thing has changed, I got married August 20, 2010 and just three months ago my wife Andrea had our first child Stephen James Dill Jr so I have been a little busy but I will still continue to being active as I can in the club and getting the Prez Sayz out in a timely manner.
