Overview User Manual: _UM The SkyGrip End Stirrup is to be used as a secondary mounting point for the SkyGrip safety device in conjunction with a standard Sky climber SSU or Altrex MHB cradle to provide an independent suspension point in the event of a Hoist stirrup failure. 1.1 Components Product Number: 1 2 3 4 1. User Information The SkyGrip End Stirrup can be used with the following equipment: Skyclimber SkyGrip 8mm WLL = 500kg Skyclimber SkyGrip 9mm WLL = 800kg Skyclimber SkyGrip 10.2mm WLL = 1000kg User Manual: _UM The SkyGrip End Stirrup must be used in accordance with the relevant user manual for any equipment it is attached to. I.e. SkyGrip user manual Maximum Angle (Longitudinal): 10 The SkyGrip End Stirrup is to be used with approved suspended access lifting equipment to determine the integrity of said device in accordance with a thorough examination procedure. Only trained/competent personnel are permitted to install/operate this facility Any incidents and/or near misses resulting from a failure of the suspended access system (I.e. cradle fall arrest/overspeed activated) must be reported to the relevant persons and this information must be passed to ZHS for investigation or assessment. 4 P a g e
3. Assembly/Pre use checks 3.1 Setting up Safety First! Only use this equipment in accordance with this user manual Only trained and competent personnel are permitted to use this equipment User Manual: _UM Do not tamper with any of the equipment maintenance should be carried out by authorised personnel only Use the correct PPE at all times when operating this equipment REPORT DEFECTS IMMEDIATELY 3.2 Pre use/daily checks Check general condition of equipment report any defects Check for: a. Wear and tear of the SkyGrip End Stirrup including all fixtures and fittings b. Check weld connection and structural condition 3.3 PPE PPE and general safety rules outlined in a risk assessment applicable to the site/cradle location must be adhered to however, as a minimum use the following PPE when installing this equipment: a. Protective footwear b. Hi-grip or rigger gloves (latex/nitrile surgical gloves are not recommended) 5 P a g e
4. User instructions 4.1 Installation Step 1 Pre use/daily checks User Manual: _UM Ensure pre use/daily checks are complete and any defects are reported Only use the equipment if it is fit for purpose if in doubt ask Step 2 Fit the A frame: Fit the cradle A-frame using M20 x 150 HT hex bolts. The threaded portion of the bolt needs to be on the outside of the cradle Do not fasten with nuts at this stage 6 P a g e
User Manual: _UM Step 3 Fit the Vertical uprights Fit the vertical uprights by sliding them over the M20 bolts secure finger tight with M20 plain nuts Step 4 Fit the hoist Fit the hoist into position If positioning the hoist using a suspended steel wire rope (SWR), remove the rope when the hoist is secure and in position 7 P a g e
User Manual: _UM Step 5 Fit the top bracket Fit the top bracket using M12 x 60 HT hex head bolts, washers and nyloc nuts Step 6 Secure the vertical uprights Secure the M20 bolts holding the vertical uprights Caution Do not over tighten bolts as this could cause damage to the equipment 8 P a g e
User Manual: _UM Step 7 Fit the SkyGrip Fit the SkyGrip, paying attention to the orientation. The primary rope must be able to pass straight through the SkyGrip and into the hoist rope entry Step 8 Reeve the primary and secondary SWRs The primary rope must be able to pass straight through the SkyGrip and into the hoist rope entry. Please refer to SkyGrip user manual for instructions 9 P a g e
5. Maintenance 5.1 Daily checks Frequency = each day before first use User Manual: _UM Guidance = See checklist below 1. General condition of SkyGrip End Stirrup 2. Check all welds for condition All cracks/defects reportable 3. Check security of all fixings 4. Check rope passage for excessive wear from SWR 10 P a g e

For any other issues please seek assistance. This trouble shooting guide is intended for use with the SkyGrip End Stirrup. For equipment trouble shooting, please consult the relevant manufacturers/zhs service manual for that item.
