Result: The steer wheels shuld turn in the directin that the yellw triangle pints n the cntrl panel. Test Drive and Braking 26 Press and hld the functin enable switch. 27 Slwly mve the cntrl handle in directin indicated by the blue arrw n the cntrl panel until the machine begins t mve, then return the handle t the center psitin. Result: The machine shuld mve in the directin that the blue arrw pints n the cntrl panel, then cme t an abrupt stp. 28 Press and hld the functin enable switch. 29 Slwly mve the cntrl handle in the directin indicated by the yellw arrw n the cntrl panel until the machine begins t mve, then return the handle t the center psitin. Result: The machine shuld mve in the directin that the yellw arrw pints n the cntrl panel, then cme t an abrupt stp. Nte: The drive brakes must be able t hld the machine n any slpe it is able t climb. Test Limited Drive Speed 30 Mve and hld a functin enable/speed select switch. Test Platfrm Extensin Limit Switch (if equipped) Nte: Sme GS-2668 machines d nt have a platfrm extensin limit switch. Check under the extensin end f the platfrm t lcate this switch. This test is nt necessary n machines that are nt equipped with this limit switch. 33 Mve and hld a functin enable/speed select switch. Operatr's Manual First Editin Tenth Printing OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS Starting the Engine 1 At the grund cntrls, turn the key switch t the desired psitin. 2 Be sure bth grund and platfrm cntrl red Emergency Stp buttns are pulled ut t the ON psitin. 3 Gasline/LPG mdels: Chse the fuel surce. Grund cntrl panel: Mve the fuel select tggle switch t the desired psitin. Platfrm cntrl panel: Push the fuel select buttn. 4 Push the engine start buttn. If engine fails t start after 15 secnds f cranking, determine cause and repair any malfunctin. Wait 60 secnds befre trying t start again. All mdels: In extreme cld cnditins, 20 F (-6 C) and belw, warm engine fr 5 minutes befre perating t prevent hydraulic system damage. Gasline/LPG mdels: In extreme cld cnditins, 20 F (-6 C) and belw, machine shuld be started n gasline, then switched t LPG. When perating the machine in gasline mde, use the chke as necessary. Operatin Frm Grund 1 Turn the key switch t grund cntrl. 2 Pull ut bth grund and platfrm red Emergency Stp buttns t the ON psitin. 3 Start the engine. T Psitin Platfrm 1 Hld the functin enable switch t either side. 2 Mve the up/dwn tggle switch accrding t the markings n the cntrl panel. Drive and steer functins are nt available frm the grund cntrls. Operatin Frm Platfrm 1 Turn the key switch t platfrm cntrl. 2 Pull ut the grund and platfrm red Emergency Stp buttn t the ON psitin. 3 Start the engine. T Psitin Platfrm 1 Mve and hld a functin enable/speed select switch. 2 Activate the platfrm up/dwn functin tggle switch in the desired directin f travel. T Steer 1 Press and hld the functin enable switch. 2 Turn the steer wheels with the thumb rcker switch lcated n the tp f the cntrl handle. T Drive 1 Press and hld the functin enable switch. 2 Increase speed: Slwly mve the cntrl handle ff center. Decrease speed: Slwly mve the cntrl handle tward center. Stp: Return the cntrl handle t center r release the functin enable switch. Use the clr-cded directin arrws n the platfrm cntrls and n the platfrm t identify the directin the machine will travel. D nt stand n the platfrm extensin while trying t extend it. 3 Lwer the platfrm extensin lck handle. GS-2668RT mdels: The platfrm extensin limit switch (if equipped) will disable the drive functin when the platfrm is extended and the platfrm is raised abve 20 ft (6.1 m). Lwer the platfrm r retract the platfrm extensin t drive the machine. GS-3268RT mdels: The platfrm extensin limit switch will disable the drive functin when the platfrm is extended and the platfrm is raised abve 26 ft (7.9 m). Lwer the platfrm r retract the platfrm extensin t drive the machine. Be aware f the directin the machine will travel when using the cntrller. Engine Stp Buttn Press the engine stp buttn t turn ff the engine. The dwn functin and the hrn will still perate. After Each Use 1 Select a safe parking lcatin firm level surface, clear f bstructins and traffic. 2 Lwer the platfrm. 3 Turn the key switch t the ff psitin and remve the key t secure frm unauthrized use. 4 Chck the wheels. The utriggers are perated frm a cntrl bx munted utside f the platfrm. These instructins apply t this additinal cntrl bx. 1 Psitin machine belw the desired wrk area. 2 Pull ut the red Emergency Stp buttns at the grund and platfrm cntrls. Als pull ut the red Emergency Stp buttn n the utrigger cntrl panel. 3 Activate the utrigger raise/lwer tggle switches and adjust t level the machine and raise the wheels slightly ff the grund. Use the bubble level lcated n the cntrl bx munt. Each tggle switch perates tw utriggers. 4 Raise the platfrm. If the tilt alarm sunds, fully lwer the platfrm and adjust the utriggers. Use the bubble level lcated n the cntrl bx munt. The red indicatr light abve the lift symbl n the utrigger cntrl panel cmes n when ne but nt all utriggers are dwn. All drive and lift functins are disabled. The light turns ff when all utriggers are in firm cntact with the grund. The drive functin is disabled while the utriggers are dwn. If yu try t perate a functin that is lcked ut, the fault light n the platfrm cntrl panel will cme n and the machine will be disabled. This will happen even if the utriggers are in firm cntact with the grund and the red indicatr light n the utrigger cntrl bx is ff. Aut Level Outriggers (if equipped) These instructins apply t machines with the black aut level utrigger cntrl bx. 1 Psitin machine belw the desired wrk area. 2 Pull ut the red Emergency Stp buttns at the grund and platfrm cntrls. 3 Push and hld the aut level buttn. 4 Activate the utrigger up/dwn tggle switch in the dwn directin. Result: The utriggers will extend and level the machine. A beep will sund when the machine is level. The red indicatr light abve the lift symbl n the utrigger cntrl panel cmes n when ne but nt all utriggers are dwn. All drive and lift functins are disabled. The light turns ff when all utriggers are in firm cntact with the grund. The drive functin is disabled while the utriggers are dwn. T cntrl individual utriggers 1 Push and hld the utrigger functin enable buttn. 2 Push and hld an utrigger buttn. 3 Activate the utrigger up/dwn tggle switch in the desired directin t level the machine. Psitining machine n a slpe When setting the machine up n a slpe, the steer-end utriggers must be lwered first. Observe and Obey: Cmmn sense and planning must be applied t cntrl the mvement f the machine when lifting it with a crane. Transprt vehicle must be parked n a level surface. Transprt vehicle must be secured t prevent rlling while machine is being laded. Be sure vehicle capacity, lading surfaces and chains r straps are sufficient t withstand machine weight. See Specificatins sectin. 2 Be sure winch line is prperly secured t drive chassis tie pints and path is clear f all bstructins. 3 Turn the brake release knb cunterclckwise t pen the brake valve. 4 Pump the brake release pump knb. After machine is laded: 1 Chck wheels t prevent machine frm rlling. 2 Turn the brake release knb clckwise t reset the brakes. Twing the Genie GS-2668 RT r the GS-3268 RT is nt recmmended. If the machine must be twed, d nt exceed 2 mph (3.2 km/h). Machine must be n level surface r secured befre releasing brakes. Securing t Truck r Trailer fr Transit Always chck machine wheels in preparatin fr transprt. Use tie-dwn pints n chassis fr anchring dwn t transprt surface. Use chains r straps f ample lad capacity.
