Remove the steering wheel Chapter. Remove top trim panels of pillar A Chapter. Remove top steering column trim panel -1- e.g. with disassembly wedge -3409-. Remove screws -1- (1.5 Nm) and -3- (1.5 Nm) for securing the bottom steering column trim panel -2-. Remove the damping trim panel below the dash panel.
Стр. 2 из 6 Lever out the decorative strips for the dash panel -1, 2, 3- with e.g. the disassembly wedge -3409-. Remove vents -4, 5- Heating and Air Conditioning Rep. Gr.87. Remove dash panel insert -1- Electrical System Rep. Gr.90 and gap cover for top steering column trim panel -3-. Disconnect the plug connection of the warning buzzer for the parking aid (behind the dash panel insert). Remove steering-column control Electrical System Rep. Gr.94. Unplug the connector for the multi-function switch (if present) Electrical System Rep. Gr.91.
Стр. 3 из 6 Lift off the cover around the radio - 1- and the cover of the air conditioning actuator -2- using e.g. the disassembly wedge -3409-. Disconnect the plug connection for the warning light of the front passenger airbag deactivation. Remove the screws -3- of the air conditioning system control unit -4- Electrical System Rep. Gr.87. Disconnect the plug from the air conditioning system control unit. Remove radio
Стр. 4 из 6 (navigation) Electrical System Rep. Gr.91. Remove cover and screws for fuse holder Electrical System Rep. Gr.97. Remove trim panel for light switch Electrical System Rep. Gr.96. Disconnect the plug from the light switch and from the adjuster for the headlight range control Electrical System Rep. Gr.96. Remove warning light switch Electrical System Rep. Gr.96. Disconnect the plug from the warning light switch Electrical System Rep. Gr.96. Unclip sunlight penetration photosensor Electrical System Rep. Gr.87. Unlock the catch peg (Pos. 3) and unclip the handle (Pos. 1) for the glove compartment on the front passenger side (Pos. 2). The screw (Pos. 4) for the glove compartment cannot be removed without removing the handle. Unclip key switch for the front passenger airbag deactivation from the glove compartment and disconnect plug connection. Remove screws -2- (1.5 Nm) for glove compartment -1-. Disconnect plug connection for the glove compartment lighting.
Стр. 5 из 6 Disconnect plug connection from the footwell lighting on the front passenger's side. Separate feed hose for AC glove compartment on the front passenger's side. Remove glove compartment from vehicle. Remove screws (Pos. 1) - 1.5 Nm for storage compartment on the driver's side. Remove storage compartment on the driver's side (Pos. 2) from vehicle. Disconnect the plug for the diagnostic connection and the footwell lighting on the driver's side. Disconnect plug for lateral footwell vent temperature senders. Disconnect plug connection for front passenger airbag. Remove screws -2- (2 Nm) as shown in the illustration. Before slackening the metal safety hooks - 3-, press the dash panel in the direction of the windscreen in order to slacken the hooks. Press in the elastic metal safety hooks -3- using e.g. a short screwdriver in the direction of -arrows A- through the openings in the windscreen vent.
Стр. 6 из 6 Slide out the dash panel in -direction of arrow- after unlocking the hooks. Ensure that all the plug connections are disconnected. Carefully remove the dash panel from the vehicle. DANGER! Safety measures should be observed when handling the airbag units Chapter. Installing: Installation is carried out in the reverse order. WARNING Pay attention to the sequence when connecting the battery Electrical System Rep. Gr.27. Note When installing the bottom trim panel for steering column, pay attention to the correct distance between the trim panel and the steering wheel Electrical System Rep. Gr.94. If the airbag warning light -K75- signals a fault after assembly erase the fault memory with fault reader and interrogate again Vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system VAS 5051.
