2 Technical Specification of Garbage Compactor (15 m 3 ) 15 m 3 Garbage Compactor is a Municipal Refuse Compactor, mounted on suitable chassis. The compactor body is designed as a conventional rear loading unit mounted on to the vehicle. Application The main characteristic of the 15 m 3 compactor is its medium size. The equipment can work for at least continuous 8 hours opration under average conditions without any ill effects on its The Body consists of the following assemblies 1. Main Body or the Container 2. Packing Mechanism Proven two plate fabricated packer / sweeper design Sweeper plate manufactured using high tensile abrasion resistant steel Packing mechnism by dual packer cylinder and dual sweeper cylinder Nominal apprx second cycle time 4. Refuse Ejection Barrier Barrier face is formed to give smooth and unobstructed discharge surface. Low friction self lubricating bearings guide the barrier along rails within the body. The guides are made of abrasion- Resistant Plastic Material. These guides don t require any lubrication and have durability for a long life in deal working conditions. Ejection by one ejection plate driven by hydraulic cylinder enables efficient ejection and retraction. 5. Hydraulic Operating System The hydraulic circuit mainly consists of the following: Rugged PTO mounted dual flow pump. Body mounted tank. Full flow 25 micron return line filter controls contaminant levels. Engine speed is maintained by pneumatic throttle control system with push button provided in the chassis cabin. Valve Separate 2 sections hydraulic directional control valves with manual levers control all system functions (i.e. one valve for controlling the packing and sweeping operations). Over centre valve provided on each tailgate cylinder to avoid sudden coming down of tailgate when in raised condition. Body side mounted tailgate lift cylinders.

4 6. Electrical system Beacon light (optional); A light Beacon is fitted on the top of the truck to highlight the operational and visibility. This beacon lamp is required to warn the traffic flow while loading and unloading operation is in progress. Working lamp (optional): A working lamp is fitted on the compactor body to enable operation even in poor lighting conditions. 7. Control station Compaction mechanism control station (hydraulic direction control valve with manual lever) is provided at the rear end of the vehicle. This control station is located outside the body so that the person can supervise the whole operation while running the garbage compacting cycles. External discharge control station (hydraulic directional control valve with manual lever is provided at the front of the body. This control station is used to operate the ejection mechanism and for lifting the tailgate.

It is not meant for collecting any dangerous materials or any hot ashes. Only authorized and trained personnel should operate the compactors. Maintenance, Repairs and adjustments to be carried only by trained personnel and to follow the procedures and schedules as per the manufacturer s recommendations. Repairs / Adjustments if any to be carried only when the vehicle is stationary. The vehicle with compactor body to be fixed securely while moving from place to place. Transportation of personnel in the compactor is forbidden.

6 The operator to ensure only permissible load is loaded in the compactor. The values should not exceed the limits as recommended by the chassis Manufacturer. Only trained personnel, to be present while loading and unloading the waste materials from the compactor body. In case of manual loading, loading should be done only when packer and sweeper are not operated. In the event of any malfunction in operation or suspect of any major problems, the compactor to be stopped and the problems to be rectified immediately. Modifications / Change in design are not recommended and the warranty seizes if any unauthorized modifications are carried and manufacturer is not responsible for any damages to the equipment or to the personnel attending to the compactor
