16 Axle Weights...use it or lose it... No vehicle or combination of vehicles may be operated on the highway where the gross weight on any group of axles exceeds the weights permitted under this section with any or all of the interior axles disregarded, and with an exterior axle disregarded if the exterior axle is a variable load axle that is not carrying its intended weight, and their gross weights subtracted from the gross weight of all axles of the group under consideration.

18 Road Restriction Rules and Conditions Paved routes remain at 10-ton limits unless otherwise posted Unpaved routes drop to 5-ton limits unless otherwise posted Road authorities may post routes to a lower weight as needed, to preserve roads from unnecessary damage.

19 Caution: County, City and Township load restrictions may remain in force after the State removes them from the state highways. Roads may not yet tolerate increased weights due to road design or local conditions. Monitor local road authority announcements for their ending dates.

(state, county, township, city etc.) Check with all road authorities before you haul

33 Local Preferred and Defined Routes Industry and local road authorities may together, identify routes best suited for authorized commodities. Local preferred route examples: Defined routes between facilities Temporary and Permanent Haul roads To construction sites from facilities such as asphalt or concrete plants Industry is encouraged to use preferred routes when possible
