2 SPECIFICATIONS FOR ONE (1) A COMPACT TRACK LOADER & HIGH FLOW MULCHING CUTTER HEAD The City of Thomasville is soliciting bids for the purchase of a Compact Track loader with a high flow mulching cutter head attachment, which will be utilized by the City of Thomasville s Electric Operations personnel for the purpose of right of way vegetation clearing. These specifications have been patterned after a John Deere G350 track loaded with their Forestry safety package and a Seppi Miniforest cl 150 high flow cutter head, yet have been modified in an effort to encourage suitable manufacture participation in supplying equal or similar equipment. All bid offers that meet the intent of the specifications will be given full consideration. In all cases where equipment offered does not meet the requirements as specified, the variance must be pointed out on the bid submission to permit full review and consideration. Bidder is required to submit with bid a copy of the manufacture specification and performance data for the equipment. This Compact track loader and high flow cutter head shall be to the manufacturer s standard. It shall be equipped with the manufacturer s equipment and accessories which are Included as standard in the advertised and published literature for the unit. No such item of equipment or accessories shall be removed or omitted for the reason that it was not specified in the bid. SAFETY EQUIPMENT - An enclosable operator cab with side screens shall be provided as standard equipment. Cab shall meet SAE standards J1040 and J1043 for Rollover Protective Structure and Falling Object Protective Structure. Minimum inside cab width shall be 33" (838 mm). - A seat belt and an electrically switch-operated parking brake shall be furnished as standard equipment. - Front and rear work lights shall be standard. - Additional operator protection shall be provided by a seat bar or similar device which restricts lift arm operation when not in use. - A lift arm support device to assist in servicing the loader shall be provided as standard equipment. - Loader shall be equipped with an interlock control system which requires that the operator be seated in the loader with the seat bar down in place and the engine running before the hydraulic lift, tilt and the traction drive system can be operated. The auxiliary hydraulics shall deactivate when the operator raises the seat bar. Should the engine not start or a system problem occur with the lift arms raised, the lift arms can be lowered by turning the lift arm by-pass control knob clockwise ¼ turn. Then, pull up and hold until the lift arms slowly lower. - Grab handles to assist the operator in mounting and dismounting the loader shall be provided as standard equipment. - Shall have operational instructions and warnings by decals with pictorials and international symbols plus some messages in four basic languages: English, French, German and Spanish. - Shall have a weather resistant operator handbook written in English attached to the loader. TRAINING RESOURCES - A comprehensive Loader Operator Training Kit shall be available. - A comprehensive Service Safety Training Kit shall be available.

7 Forestry Applications Kit Components within in the Kit include the following: 1. Forestry Door (3/4 laminated polycarbonate) Door offers extra protection for the operator while operating a mulching attachment. Door also comes with an emergency exit handle for removal of front door, if necessary. 2. Front and Rear Light Guards ¼ polycarbonate material ensures branches and debris won t break lights. 3. Hydraulic Quick Coupler Guards The guard, along with no exposed fittings on the hoses, helps protect the couplers, hoses and wire harness from falling trees and branches. 4. Fire Extinguisher Mounted in the cab for quick access in an emergency. 5. Level II Falling Objects Protective Structure (FOPS meets ISO 3449) Protects operator and cab from falling trees and objects. 6. Bottom Covers Reinforced plates to protect the bottom of the cab and undercarriage from limbs and stumps. 7. Rear Bumper Protects rear of machine and serves as mounting location for winch kit (winch kit to be included with machine). 8. Lift Cylinder Hose Guards Protects hoses from puncture or snagging by limbs. 9. Window Screens Window screens on the side and rear of cab for extra protection of the operator.
