3 5 ENGLISH FEATURES Nystagmus spectacles are used to trace pathological nystagmus reaction. Fixed biconvex lens +/- 18,0 diopters. PRESCRIPTIONS The lens are very delicate, handle the spectacles with great care. Avoid laying the spectacles on surfaces, which could scratch the lens. The use of this product is reserved to qualified medical personnel only. Do not use the equipment in case it is damaged. Apply to your retailer. Avoid precarious repairs. Repairs shall be carried out with original spare parts only, which shall be installed according to the intended use. Since the product is made of corrosion-proof materials suitable for the enviromental conditions foreseen for its normal use, does not require special care, however it is necessary to store it in a closed place making sure that is protected from dust and dirt to assure its hygenic conditions. Moreover, it is recommended to store the product in a place which can be reached easily by the personnel in case of necessity. UNPACKING Always remember that packing elements (paper, cellophane, stitches, adhesive tape, etc.) can cut and/or hurt if they are not carefully handled. They shall be removed with adequate means and shall not be left at the mercy of irresponsible persons; the same is valid for tools used to remove packages (scissors, knives, etc.). After opening the packages, first of all it is necessary to check all pieces and parts composing the product. Check that they are all present and in perfect conditions. INSTALLATION - Fasten the belts to the spectacles by means of the apposite hooks. - Position the spectacles on the patient s face and fix them to the head. Adjust the tension of the belts by means of Velcro bands. The light bulbs protrude from the spectacles inner side; avoid the contact with eyelids, which can be painful. OPERATION cod : Connect the jack plugs to the apposite terminals of a suitable power supply, set the voltage to 4 Volt. It is advisable to use the power supply GIMA 6 (cod ); it is however possible to use other power supply, provided that they have the same potential, features and they are in compliance with the standards in force. Do not connect the jack plugs to the mains, but use a power supply suitable for a voltage of 4 Volt. cod : This model allows wireless working and is not bound to power Supply. The Nystagmus Spectacle is provided with power through the adjustable battery hold above the spectacle and require three 1.5 Volt batteries, size C LR14/AM-2 (baby cells). Open the battery hold by take off the cap. Insert the batteries and close the battery hold. Switch on the Nystagmus Spectacle by press on the blue bùtton and turn on. You have the opportunity to adjust the iiiumination individually through a slight turn around of the switch.

4 ENGLISH 6 MAINTENANCE The product has been conceived to last forever, it is resistant to most part of chemicals except for methyl ethyl ketones (M.E.K.), diluents and nail polish removers. Handle the product with care, avoid hitting the lens, which could break and cause damages. Do not touch the lens with your fingers or objects that could damage or soil them. Do not use abrasive materials to clean the lens as they could suffer from permanent damages. Do not dip in water! While cleaning, make sure not to wet the light bulbs, the cable and the jack plugs with water or other liquids. The spectacles can be cold cleaned with a disinfectant and a sponge. To clean the lens, make use of a suitable detergent and a cotton cloth. In case a light bulb burns, delicately unscrew it and replace it with an original spare light bulb (cod ). Before removing the lamp, it is necessary to make sure that the instrument is off for some minutes to avoid the risk of burning. Disposal: The product must not be disposed of along with other domestic waste. The users must dispose of this equipment by bringing it to a specific recycling point for electric and electronic equipment. For further information on recycling points contact the local authorities, the local recycling center or the shop where the product was purchased. If the equipment is not disposed of correctly, fines or penalties may be applied in accordance with the national legislation and regulations. GIMA WARRANTY CONDITIONS Congratulations for purchasing a GIMA product. This product meets high qualitative standards both as regards the material and the production. The warranty is valid for 12 months from the date of supply of GIMA. During the period of validity of the warranty, GIMA will repair and/or replace free of charge all the defected parts due to production reasons. Labor costs and personnel traveling expenses and packaging not included. All components subject to wear are not included in the warranty. The repair or replacement performed during the warranty period shall not extend the warranty. The warranty is void in the following cases: repairs performed by unauthorized personnel or with nonoriginal spare parts, defects caused by negligence or incorrect use. GIMA cannot be held responsible for malfunctioning on electronic devices or software due to outside agents such as: voltage changes, electro-magnetic fields, radio interferences, etc. The warranty is void if the above regulations are not observed and if the serial code (if available) has been removed, cancelled or changed. The defected products must be returned only to the dealer the product was purchased from. Products sent to GIMA will be rejected.
