Determine which will be the top of the -oot ody [3.1] and attach the I-oot ody End ap on the desired top end using three (3) J-#6 x ¾ (19mm) Phillips Flathead ountersunk crews. lide the -oot ody onto what will be the top end of both -creen assettes [3.2]. 5 ierra 200 installation instructions PGE 5 EE INTLLTION TOP 4.1 PULL 4 optional INTLLING TE LIDE OLT EOY LOK Identify which of the two screen panels will be the one most often used to enter and exit the home. You will install the lide olt ccessory Lock on the interior side of this inactive panel (the side less used). On the inactive panel loosen the llen head set screw on the Q-Top etainer Guide. lide to remove the Q-Top etainer Guide from the interior side of the pull bar and then reinstall it in the same groove but on the opposite side of the pull bar (the exterior side). For now, slide the Q-Top etainer Guide down PULL about 4 so it is out of the way until it is adjusted and tightened in the final step. 7 ierra 200 installation instructions PGE 7 EE INTLLTION 9.4 F E Profiles of ottom Guide ail and Threshold Transition 9 optional threshold transition for recess mount only efore screwing down the -ottom Guide ail, you may choose to install the E-Threshold Transition (with F-Threshold Transition End aps) 9.4]. This part is optional; it protects the bottom guide rail and it is also a nice aesthetic feature. The Transition may be installed toward the interior or exterior of the home. To install, cut the Transition to the door opening width, less 6-1/4 (159mm) for Double Door creens. Insert the F-Threshold Transition End aps, slide the lip of the Transition under the ottom Guide ail and secure both profiles with four (4) -#8 x 3/4 (19mm) Phillips Panhead crews. Position screws 6 inches in from each end and center the middle one. 10 ecure The ails With crews ecure the -ottom Guide ail and -Top Guide ail with four -#8 x 3/4 (19mm) Phillips Panhead crews each. Position screws 6 inches (150mm) in from each end and equally space the remaining screws. When installing the ottom and Top Guide ail, use the convenient Pile Opener included with this kit, to temporarily separate the two insect piles. This will make for easier viewing and installation of the screws. Pile Opener

Now, on the -ottom Guide ail and the -Top Guide ail, make pencil marks to the center of the channel in which you ve installed the lide olts. enter the T-ottom lide olt etainer to your channel mark, with the bottom of the etainer flush to the bottom of the -ottom Guide ail. T Pencil mark the position for the screws, set the etainer aside, and drill 1/8 holes. Then attach the T-ottom lide olt etainer using (2) - #4 x 3/8 Phillips Panhead crews [10.1]. U 11.2 Position the U-Top lide olt etainer so that it also centers to the channel mark, with the bottom of the etainer flush with the bottom of the -Top Guide ail. Pencil mark the position for the 4 screws, set aside the etainer and drill 1/8 holes. ttach the U-Top lide olt etainer using (4) - #4 x 3/8 Phillips Panhead crews [10.2]. U PULL Q 12 djusting the Top ETINE GUIDE & andles djust the Q-Top etainer Guide(s) so that they are positioned at the top of the Pull ar(s) approximately 1/8 (3mm) below the top guide rail. Tighten llen-ead et crew. djust the G-andle heights by loosening the llen-ead et crew, move the G-andle as desired and retighten screw. Note: the etainer Guide(s) should NOT touch the Top Guide ail when positioned correctly.

NOTE: The ottom and Top ails each have decorative grooves on one side. This groove should face the outside [8.2]. lide the -oot ody upward on the -creen assette until it aligns with the desired alignment mark that you made on the frame [8.3]. Position the -Top Guide ail so that it rests on the Pull ar of the -creen assette ssembly that has already been installed. Position and rest the opposite end of the -Top Guide ail on the pull bar of the second -creen asette ssembly. ove the second -creen assette to the door frame and fasten the cassette to the frame using the L-urface ount lips and the -#8 x 3/4 (19mm) Phillips Panhead crews [5.2]. 8.2 lide the -Top Guide ail onto the tab of the -oot ody [8.4] DEOTIE GOOE N O O N O N N O 9 ecure The ails With crews lign the outside edge of both the -ottom Guide ail and -Top Guide ail with the alignment mark on the door frame. -Top Guide ail: Drill four (4) 3/8 (9.5mm) holes evenly spaced through the outside face only of the front surface of the -Top Guide ail. Using these larger holes as a guide, center and drill 1/8 (3mm) through the rear side of the rail. Using the larger 3/8 (9.5mm) holes for access, insert -#8 x 3/4 (19mm) Phillips Panhead crews into the 1/8 (3mm) holes to secure the Top Guide ail to the frame. omplete the installation by inserting O-over aps into the access holes. -ottom Guide ail: Using the Decorative Trim Groove [8.2] as a guide (staying underneath the glide platforms inside the ottom Guide ail), drill four (4) 1/8 (3mm) holes evenly spaced and through both sides of the -ottom Guide ail. ecure the rails to the frame using N-1/8 (3mm) x 1-3/4 (44mm) urface ount crews. Do not over tighten.

Pencil mark the position for the 4 screws, set aside the etainer and drill 1/8 holes. ttach the U-Top lide olt etainer using (4) - #4 x 3/8 Phillips Panhead crews [10.2]. U PULL Q 11 djusting the Top ETINE GUIDE & andles djust the Q-Top etainer Guide(s) so that they are positioned at the top of the Pull ar(s) approximately 1/8 (3mm) below the top guide rail. Tighten llen-ead et crew. djust the G-andle heights by loosening the llen-ead et crew, move the G-andle as desired and retighten screw. Note: the etainer Guide(s) should NOT touch the Top Guide ail when positioned correctly.

Use wedge shims to adjust the ottom Guide until level. EEN I TON O DGED: eplace the mesh using a creen efill Kit. TE LOING GNET DO NOT FULLY EL O TE EEN DOE NOT LOE EENLY: lean the agnets using mild soap and water. clean any debris from inside the ottom Guide. Debris can interfere with closing and smooth screen operation. open the screen and check that the magnet that is located in the Pull ar aligns with the magnetic strip in the D-Dual-ount ide ail with agnet. To alter the alignment remove the -#8 x 3/4 (19mm) Phillips Panhead crews for the center of the D-Dual-ount ide ail. Flex the center of the D-Dual-ount ide ail 1/8"-3/16" (3mm-4mm) toward the outside and then reinstall the -#8 x 3/4 (19mm) Phillips Panhead crews.? 17 INTLLTION ULLETIN for TEOLD/ILL PPLITION There are multitudes of door threshold/sill designs and these must be considered before you install your etractable creen. For a proper installation it is important to have or create a level and stable surface for mounting the bottom guide of the retractable screen. efore beginning, identify the exact location where the creen assette will be installed, because this will influence the position of the ottom Guide. The following are some of the more typical threshold/sill designs and solutions for dealing with these instances. Traditional etractable creen with mooth Fabric Flat Threshold 1 flat threshold/sill for traditional screen Instructions: lean the surface and then mount the etractable creen ottom Guide directly to the threshold/sill. Platform Transition (or similar) Flat Threshold with creen Track 1 flat threshold/sill with screen track Instructions: To span over an existing screen track and make a flat and stable surface, install material such as the Genius Platform Transition [Part #: X-X]. ost hardware stores also sell shim materials or various shaped aluminum trims that will give the same result. For all Genius smooth screen fabric systems (non-pleated screens), there are instances where resting the ottom Guide above the existing screen track is the desirable method. If needed, add shims to create a stable, level surface for mounting the Guide. E2 If however, the existing door s creen Track is removable, take out the Track by hand or with any type of pliers [E2]. 20 INTLLTION ULLETIN for TOP & IDE GUIDE IL 4 INTLLTION ULLETIN for TOP ND IDE GUIDE IL Existing ide Door Frame hims to Flatten Install urface 1 EXITING IDE IL PEPTION with I Instructions: ince there are multitudes of door master frame designs, all surfaces where you will be mounting the screen must be considered before you install the retractable screen. In the case of the side rails, again, existing door frames may have multiple channels, or flanges of different heights, that make for a surface too uneven for efficient installation of your new screen. In this case, you will need to shim this channel or channels to the height of the tallest flange in the existing side door frame. It is recommended you order or find shims made of a non-degradable material (plastic or nylon, for example) that can be fitted into the channel(s), of sufficient length to assure a flat and vertically plumb surface for the new side rail.
