2 History of the company Csepel Transformer Factory was founded in 1960 as a state owned company in the location of the large industrial estate in southern Budapest situated on the island of the Danube river. The core business of the factory was to produce oil immersed MV/LV distribution transformers, in the early years for the domestic elctricity networks, and very soon for an ever increasing number of export markets. The production of a relatively new brand of transformers, the cast-resin insulated transformers was started in 1978 based on a licence acquired from the German producer, Trafo Union. In the course of the privatisation process Siemens AG acquired the shares of Csepel Transformer Factory in 1996 and it became an important branch of Siemens AG s transformer business. 2 TUNAMIC and TUNORMA Oil/Filled Distribution Transformers Following the takeover process the Company was able to obtain its first Quality Certification according to ISO 9001 within a year, in The development of new business fields e.g. coil winding for Traction Transformers together with Siemens Nürnberg was completed in The name of the company was changed to "Siemens Transformers Kft.. in The same year witnessed an important event, that is the takeover of production and responsibility of the cast resin transformers with the brand name Geafol transformers >400 kva from the German production center. In 2001 other important event happened : the production and responsibility of oil transformers < 250 kva was taken over from Portugese production center. Since then the Company has grown steadily in production capabilities, shortened its lead times and supplies distribution transformers, oil immersed and cast-resin alike, to an ever expanding number of export markets all over the Globe. TUMETIC and TUNORMA: Tailor-Made Technology TUMETIC Hermetically sealed distribution transformers completely filled with oil as cooling and insulating medium, for power ratings from 250 to 1600 kva and operating voltages up to a maximum of Um = 36 kv Cable elbow connectors on the HV side, open bushings on the LV side. TUNORMA Oil-filled distribution transformers with conservator for power ratings from 50 to 2500 kva and operating voltages up to a maximum of Um = 36 kv. Standard: DIN Rated power: kva Rated frequency: 50 Hz HV rating: up to 36 kv Taps on HV side: +-2.5% or +- 2 x 2.5% LV rating: V (special designs for up to 12 kv can be built) Connection: HV winding: delta, LV winding: star (up to 100 kva: zigzag) Impedance voltage 4% (only up to HV rating 24 kv and < 630 kva) or 6% at rated current: (with rated power > 630 kva or with HV rating > 24 kv) Cooling: ONAN Protection class: IP00 Final coating: RAL 7033 (other colours are available) Terminal compartment with cable connections on both HV and LV side. Terminal compartment with flange frame on both HV and LV side.

3 Oil/Filled Distribution Transformers TUNAMIC and TUNORMA 3 Main components and internal structure View inside a 630 kva TUMETIC oil-filled distribution transformer Truck with flat-rim wheels which can be set for forward or sideways movement. Core- and coll-assembly featuring iron core and windings held together by a clamping frame and bolted to the tank cover. It can be lifted whole from the tank. Iron core High-grade electric sheet steel (together with state-ofthe-art core design and laminations) assures low-loss, low-noise operation. Windings The design and materials selected assure a long service life. Off-load tap changer for matching the voltage to local network conditions. Adjustablefrom the outside in off-circuit state. Low-voltage bushings (standard) High-voltage bushings (standard) Thermometer pocket for temperature monitoring devices. Tank of the TUMETICmodel, hermetically sealed. The fluctuations in the cooling liquid volume occuring during operation are absorbed by the elasticity of the corrugated walls. Absolutely maintenance-free (no shortening of the service life) Conservator (on TUNORMA model) with oil-level indicator and filler nozzles in the form of air vents. Anti-corrosion: Multilayer paint finish, standard colour cement-grey (RAL 7033).Special colours or zinc coating available on request.
