4 Definitions ASN means the national body recognised by the FIA as sole holder of sporting power in a country. Automobile means a vehicle running in constant contact with the ground (or ice) on at least four nonaligned wheels, of which at least two are used for steering and at least two for propulsion; the propulsion and steering of which are constantly and entirely controlled by a Driver on board the vehicle (other terms including but not limited to Car, truck and kart may be used interchangeably with Automobile, as appropriate within types of Competition). Bulletin means an official document issued by the Stewards during an Event, which for the avoidance of doubt shall include Drivers Briefing Notes or any written instructions issued to Competitors that are signed or countersigned by the Stewards. CAMS means the Confederation of Australian Motor Sport Ltd., the ASN for Australia. Car means an Automobile conforming to the eligibility requirements in these Rules and entered in a Competition. Circuit means a closed course, including the inherent installations, beginning and ending at the same point, built or adapted specifically for Automobile racing. A Circuit may be temporary, semi-permanent or permanent, depending on the character of its installations and its availability for Competitions. Compete means to attend and participate in the Event. Competition means a single motor sport activity with its own results. It may comprise practice, qualifying and races of one or several categories that must be completed by the end of the Event. Competitor means any person or body accepted for any Competition whatsoever, and necessarily holding a Competitor s License issued by their Parent ASN. Control Line means a line at the crossing of which a Car is timed. Driver means a person driving an Automobile in a Competition and necessarily holding a Driver s Licence issued by their Parent ASN. Entry Form means a contract between a Competitor and the Event Organisers which compels the Competitor to take part in the Event in which the Competitor has accepted to Compete except in the case of duly established force majeure. Event an Event is made up of one or several Competitions. FIA means the Fédération Internationale de l Automobile. Finish Line means the final Control Line, with or without timing. ISC means the FIA International Sporting Code including Appendices. Judge of Fact means any Official who performs one or more of the following duties: a) Finish Judge: to determine the order in which Cars cross the Finish Line; b) Noise Judge: to determine whether a Car exceeds the noise level for the Event; c) Pit Lane Speed Judge: to determine whether a Car exceeds the Pit Lane speed limit; d) Start Judge: to immediately report to the Clerk of the Course or Race Director any breach of the start procedures which may have occurred; e) Other Judge of Fact may be appointed in which case the facts to be judged will be included in the Supplementary Regulations or Bulletin Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour Sporting and Technical Regulations. 5 f) Any decision of a Judges of Fact is final but such decision will not in itself constitute the official classification for a Competition because it has taken no account of the conditions under which the Cars have finished the course. g) If any Judge of Fact considers that they have made a mistake they may correct it, subject to the correction being accepted by the Stewards. h) Protests against decisions made by a Judge of Fact in the exercise of their duties will not be admitted. NCR means the National Competition Rules of CAMS. Official means any Official appointed by the Organiser of the Event. Organiser means the person or body having responsibility for the organization of an Event including but not limited to technical and sporting matters in accordance with the NCR. Parc Fermé means the location where the Competitor is obliged to bring their Car as foreseen by the applicable regulations. Penalty means any of the sanctions contained in the Rules which may be applied on Competitor or Driver. Pit Bay means that area in the Pit Lane that is allocated by the Organiser to a Team where pit stops during Sessions may be carried out. The Pit Bays are a part of the Pit Lane working lane. Pit Garage means the structure that is allocated by the Organiser to a Team that is usually adjacent to the Pit Lane and where that Team may work and where each Car will be housed when not on the Race Track or temporarily stationary in the Pit Bay. The front of the Pit Garage will be the side of the Pit Garage that fronts on to the Pit Lane. Pit Lane means all of the road in which the 40 km/h speed limit applies as indicated by the speed restriction sign at its beginning and the speed de-restriction sign at its end. The Pit Lane includes the pit signaling area, the lane closest to the pit signaling wall called the fast lane and the lane closest to the Pit Garages called the working lane which includes all the Pit Bays. Prescribed Line unless otherwise specified in Supplementary Regulations, means a line, whether or not marked on the surface of the Pit Lane, which extends across the entry of each Pit Garage. Race Track means a road specifically built or adapted to be used for Circuit Competitions excluding the Pit Lane and Pit Bays. A Race Track is defined by the outer edges of the racing surface and is the only route to be used during a Competition. For the avoidance of doubt, Track shall have the same meaning. Rules mean all the provisions of the Bathurst 12 Hour Sporting and Technical Regulations together with all Schedules and Appendices, including but not limited to Technical Directives, Supplementary Regulations, Further Supplementary Regulations, Bulletins, instructions, the NCR and the ISC and it appendices. Session means a period of time allocated to a particular on-track activity in the Event schedule. Examples of a Session include, but are not limited to, practice, qualifying, warm up and race. Supplementary Regulations means the official document issued by the Organising Committee of a Competition with the object of laying down the details of a Competition. Reference to Supplementary Regulations includes any Further Regulations. Team means the personnel engaged by the Competitor. Team Manager means a person who has been nominated by the Competitor to assume all responsibilities for the Team and Car Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour Sporting and Technical Regulations. 6 ARTICLE 1. ORGANISATION AND STATUS The Event shall be held under the provisions of the FIA International Sporting Code including Appendices, the National Competition Rules (NCR) of the Confederation of Australian Motor Sport Ltd (CAMS), 2019 Intercontinental GT Challenge Sporting Regulations, the CAMS Race Meeting Standing Regulations (RMSR), the 2019 Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour Sporting & Technical Regulations and the Supplementary Regulations and any Further Regulations and Bulletins to Competitors that may be issued. The Event shall be sanctioned by CAMS as a National Competition and will include a round of the Intercontinental GT Challenge for eligible Class A entries. CAMS will award the Australian Tourist Trophy to the Drivers of the outright winning Car of the Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour race. The award of this trophy will be in addition to any other trophies and or prizes awarded to the race winner by the Organiser. The award will be made on the main podium immediately following the conclusion of the race. ARTICLE 2. EVENT SAFETY 2.1. General Safety This Event will be conducted under and in accordance with CAMS OH&S, Safety 1 st and Risk Management Policies, which can be found on the CAMS website at. Each Competitor is reminded that they are responsible for the working conditions of their personnel at all times and must ensure that all applicable safe working conditions are met The Mount Panorama Circuit is a public road and during the Event while the Circuit is not closed for Competition, access to this road is limited to authorised personnel and Automobiles only, which must respect and obey all relevant road rules. Pedestrians must give way to Automobiles and Track maintenance equipment Hi-visibility vests must be worn at all times when walking around the Track Hi-visibility vests must be worn at all times during set up and tear down operations in the paddock area Team personnel using forklift equipment must present the appropriate licence and be inducted by the NSW OH&S Officer allocated to the Event prior to using such equipment Paddock and Pit Area Paddock allocation will be at the discretion of the Bathurst 12 Hour Paddock Manager. Decisions are final and the paddock allocation will be published once the final entries have been confirmed. There is no right to be allocated a specific area. Parking up of transporters etc. is not permitted without first checking with the Bathurst 12 Hour Paddock Manager or their nominee on site for specific final paddock allocation Each Car entered will be allocated a space approximately 35m(L) x 4m(W) in the paddock within proximity to their respective garage. This space is allocated for each Car s respective transporter or container, tyre tent/s or tyre warmer/s as applicable Automobiles without a Paddock Transit pass are not permitted to enter the paddock area with access to the paddock restricted from Wednesday 31 st January. Automobiles with a Paddock Transit pass are permitted to enter the paddock for up to 15 minutes in order to drop off or pick up equipment or supplies. The Driver of the Automobile is to remain in close proximity to the Automobile and parking is prohibited. Automobiles found in the paddock in breach of these conditions will be towed at the owner s expense. Details of the towing company and compound will be available from the Event Management Office located at Tower 1 on level The paddock gates are secured each evening from Tuesday 29 th January, with roving security in place, however Teams are responsible for their own Automobiles and equipment Camping is strictly prohibited throughout the Circuit other than in the designated campgrounds. Should you wish to camp at the Event, you must book a site through the designated page on the Event website, There is strictly NO SMOKING in the Pit Lane, Pit Garages and/or paddock area. A $500 fine applies to any offenders Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour Sporting and Technical Regulations. Version 1 Page 6

7 The riding or use of any two or four wheeled transportation (including bicycles, mini bikes, and scooters of any kind), or the use of rollerblades, roller skates or skate boards or similar within the Pit Lane and paddock area is prohibited at all times Any lead positioned on the ground must be enclosed in a cable tray or similar to eliminate any trip hazard No barbeques are permitted in any Pit Garages A Speed limit of 10km/h applies to all Automobile movements in and around the paddock Gas bottles and dry ice must be secured from the general public. Gas bottles and dry ice containers are permitted to be stored behind marketing partitions, dry ice containers and gas bottles must be locked down with straps When moved through any area all tyre trolleys, fuel drums and other equipment (the Equipment ), must be moved by a minimum of two personnel; except when the Equipment is small enough that the person moving the Equipment can see the ground immediately in front of the Equipment. Any personnel moving the Equipment must pay attention to all members of the public present in the vicinity of the Equipment and one of the persons in particular, must act as a spotter whose sole responsibility is to look out for members of the public who may be harmed by the movement of the Equipment and to warn members of the public that the Equipment is moving through the area Fire alarm detectors and/or sirens in Pit Garages are not to be tampered with. Any such tampering will be referred to Bathurst Regional Council for Civil charges to be laid under the Building and/or Fire codes, plus the cost of the repair of any device will be forwarded to the Competitor No person under the age of sixteen (16) years will be permitted in Pit Lane and/or Pit Garages. Note: In accordance with the NSW Motor Sport Public Safety Act any child under the age of 16 years is not permitted in the Pit Garages Save for engine, transmission, rear axle or transaxle pre-heaters, the use of any type of gas heaters within a Pit Garage is prohibited It is NOT PERMITTED to wash any truck, transporter, trailer or Automobile in the paddock area. There is a commercial truck washing facility at Blayney and any breach of this Rule will be referred to the Stewards At all times, each Competitor and associated Team members must comply with Dangerous Goods Act and Regulation Storage and Handling of Hazardous Substances, plus the Work Health and Safety Act and Regulation for New South Wales Unloading and Loading of Transporters and Containers At all times that a Car s transporter tail lifts are in operation or container doors are open and are being unloaded/loaded the Team must: Use barriers to ensure that only Team members are able to get closer than one metre to the perimeter of the tail lift and/or side lift or container doors Have present a tail lift and/or side lift controller who will be responsible for the use of the lift and who will not perform any other duties during the operation of the lift other than the use of the tail lift and/or side lift controls Fuel Containers At all times fuel drums and other containers used by Team members to collect fuel must be approved containers under Australian Standard AS/NZS 2906, and must be labelled in compliance with relevant dangerous goods legislation with labels supplied by the Organiser s fuel supplier (refer Article 5.6) Fuel drums must be as supplied by the Organiser s fuel supplier Radio Aerials/Antennae Any Team that attaches any sort of aerial or antenna to the Pit Garage structure must ensure that it is securely strapped in place. Cable ties alone are not sufficient for securing an aerial/antenna in place Any such arrangement must be constructed to the approval of Bathurst 12 Hour Paddock Manager Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour Sporting and Technical Regulations. 8 Each aerial or antenna must be clearly identifiable by the Team name on an area toward the bottom of the aerial or antenna Each aerial and antenna location must be to the approval of the Bathurst 12 Hour Paddock Manager An aerial mast is not permitted to be of fiberglass material A radio aerial or mast is not permitted to be fixed to the Pit Lane side of the garage complex. See the Bathurst 12 Hour Paddock Manager for preferred locations Waste Products All storm water drains lead directly to the Macquarie River, and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) will be monitoring the local waterway in the lead up to and throughout the Event. Teams should ensure contaminates or waste products are disposed of in the correct manner and in the waste product containers provided by the Organiser. Please note the EPA has the ability to prosecute offenders with heavy penalties. ARTICLE 3. SPORTING 3.1. Eligible Cars Each Car must be one that is listed as eligible in the Supplementary Regulations Appendix I Driver Licence Requirements Driver license requirements are specified in the Supplementary Regulations for the Event Driver Apparel Requirements Driver apparel must comply with the apparel requirements of the CAMS Manual Schedule D Article 2.1 International Event requirements. Pit Crew Apparel Requirements Any person working on a Car must wear a minimum of covered shoes and socks, shorts and at least a short-sleeved shirt during any Session where refuelling is not permitted Apparel made from synthetic materials (except Nomex or similar flame retardant materials) should not be worn by any person working on a Car During any practice, qualifying or race, any Team member permitted across the Prescribed Line to assist with any pit stop is highly recommended to wear a protective helmet and eyewear which should be such as to provide adequate protection for the circumstances in which such Team member undertakes their tasks, other than when working under a Car For the duration of each Session when the use of an overhead refuelling rig is permitted, each Team member at all times while across the Prescribed Line, plus the Fuel Rig Emergency Cut-Off Attendant for the duration of any refuelling pit stop, must be attired as per the requirements of Rule Any person moving directly to and/or from the signalling wall, provided their Car is not in Pit Lane, is not required to comply with Rule When it is permitted to refuel in Pit Lane the following apparel must be worn in Pit Lane: Overalls, balaclava, socks and gloves which comply with FIA 1986 or FIA must be worn. (It is permitted to use a single layer cotton Race suit however separate flame-resistant underwear extending from neck to wrists to ankles must also be worn). Gloves to the standard SFI 3.3 may be used for pit stop operations other than the Refueller and the Fire Attendant except, any Team member involved in a brake pad change at any pit stop must wear fire resistant gloves, which need not comply with the requirements of the FIA 1986, FIA or SFI 3.3 Standard Goggles which cover all exposed areas of skin not covered by the balaclava, or a full-face helmet and visor Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour Sporting and Technical Regulations. 9 3.5. Scrutiny Shoes of leather or other flame-resistant materials which completely cover the feet and which fit closely around the ankle to minimise the ingress of spilt fuel; and the soles of which must be resistant to fuel Each Team is required to make an appointment with the scrutiny office during the times listed in the Supplementary Regulations for the scrutiny of their Car Each Car will be inspected, weighed and have its fuel system capacity checked as a part of pre-event scrutiny Each Car must be presented for scrutiny: With homologation forms and the Car passport/log book With fuel cell and safety cage certificate Without fuel With each restrictor, ready for sealing, wire provided by Team With ballast, ready for sealing, wire provided by Team With the engine, ready for sealing, pre-wired by Team For turbo Cars, with each turbo ready for sealing, pre-wired by Team With identification and additional lights installed With all mandatory stickers (technical/safety/series sponsors) With slick tyres fitted The onus is on the Competitor to provide, at any time during the Event, proof that the Car and equipment are in conformity with the regulations and current BoP decisions Each Driver and Team pit stop apparel (helmets, overalls, gloves etc.) must be presented for inspection and approval Each fire extinguisher (as per Rule ) must be presented during the scrutiny checking Each overhead refuelling rig will be checked as set up in the Pit Garage on Friday 1 st February between 0900hrs and 1700hrs Each Car will be issued with a scrutiny approval sticker once it has successfully completed the scrutiny check Any Car failing to display the scrutiny approval sticker will not be permitted to Compete Driver Categorisation The Organiser will utilise the FIA Driver Categorisation system for the seeding of Drivers as follows: Platinum and Gold categorisation will be a seeded Driver Silver and Bronze categorisation will be an unseeded Driver It is compulsory for each Driver in Class A to be categorised by the FIA prior to the Event. Each Driver is solely responsible for acquiring a Driver classification from the FIA. The applicable website is which contains the regulations, fees and application form pertaining to the process. Each Driver in Class A must complete the process no later than 30 th October 2018 in order to be classified by 1st December The 12 Hour Administrator and/or Secretary of the Event will check the FIA list of categorised Drivers on the date entries close. A Driver in Class A who has not been classified will be prohibited from Competing in Class A In accordance with the FIA Driver Categorisation System, the FIA issues the definitive list of categorised Drivers on 1st December each calendar year. In the case where a Driver included on an Entry Form is classified as a Silver or Bronze at the date of entry, and is subsequently upgraded to Gold or Platinum on 1st December 2018, the Promoter reserves the right to accept the classification prior to 1st December Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour Sporting and Technical Regulations. 10 3.7. Car Classification Each Car entered in the Race must comply with the Driver requirements listed in the Table below for their respective Class. Note 2: For each Class, other than Class A, there is no restrictions on seeded Drivers Driver Identification Each Driver will be issued with a small adhesive letter from the Secretary of the Event, which must be placed on the right-hand side of the Driver s helmet for right hand drive Cars, and on the left-hand side of the helmet for left hand drive Cars. This is to enable the timekeepers to separate individual Driver lap times as a back up to the automated Driver Identification system (refer Appendix II). These letters will be issued as per the Entry Form details Driver Qualifying Procedure Each Driver must practice or qualify within 120% of the fastest lap time recorded during qualifying, save for exceptional circumstances accepted as such by the Stewards The first qualifying Session will be for all Classes of Cars and will be forty-five (45) minutes duration. This Session may be extended by a maximum of ten (10) minutes at the discretion of the Race Director The second qualifying Session will be thirty (30) minutes duration for Class A Cars only. This Session may be extended by a maximum of five (5) minutes at the discretion of the Race Director The 120% Rule as per Rule will not apply to the fastest lap time recorded during the top ten shoot out A Driver is only permitted to drive in one (1) Car in the Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour category for the duration of the Event unless agreed otherwise by the Organiser and approved by the Stewards, in the case of exceptional circumstances Each practice and qualifying Session will be timed and count towards Driver qualification Cross entering of Drivers for the Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour Event is not permitted Any Driver that has short cut the Race Track between Turn 11 to Turn 13 Driver Left, will have that lap time deleted for each breach during each practice and qualifying Session. During the race, a Penalty may be applied for any short cut at the discretion of the Stewards. A Judge of Fact, for a short cut, will be nominated in a Bulletin at the Event For each Car in Class I, except for MARC II Cars, the benchmark minimum lap time is 2 minutes 10 seconds The benchmark minimum lap time for MARCII Cars is 2 minutes 5 seconds If during any practice Session a Car in Class I records a lap time that is faster than the benchmark minimum lap time, that Car will be black-flagged for the remainder of that Session. If during any qualifying Session a Car in Class I records a lap time that is faster than the minimum benchmark lap time that lap time will be deleted from the results During the race if a Car in Class I records a lap time that is faster than the benchmark minimum lap time, a drive through Penalty will be imposed. During the race if a Car in Class I records a lap time which is faster than the benchmark minimum lap time more than twice, a time or other Penalty may be imposed by the Stewards Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour Sporting and Technical Regulations. 11 3.10. Driving Time Driving time will be measured from the commencement of the formation lap until the last time the Driver crosses the timing line at the Pit Lane entry before leaving the Car Subsequently, driving time will be measured for each Driver from the time that Driver first crosses the timing line at Pit Exit, until the last time the Driver crosses the timing line at Pit Lane entry before leaving the Car or until the Car crosses the Finish Line on the Track at the end of the race The maximum continuous driving time for any Driver in the race is three (3) hours The Penalty imposed for exceeding the maximum three (3) hour driving time will be as follows: Exceeding time by up to five (5) minutes, thirty (30) seconds added to the race time of the Car Exceeding time by more than five (5) minutes, thirty (30) seconds plus an additional thirty (30) seconds for each minute in excess of the original five (5) minutes exceeded added to the race time of the Car A minimum of a one (1) hour rest period between each driving period for each Driver during the race is required, regardless of the duration of any driving period The Penalty imposed for less than the one (1) hour rest period will be thirty (30) seconds added to the race time for the Car for every three (3) minutes under or part thereof The maximum cumulative driving time for each Driver during the race will be as follows: A three (3) Driver Team, two hundred and eighty (280) minutes each Driver A four (4) Driver Team, two hundred and forty (240) minutes each Driver The Penalty imposed for exceeding the maximum cumulative driving time will be as follows: Exceeding time by up to five (5) minutes, thirty (30) seconds added to the race time for the Car Exceeding time by more than five (5) minutes, thirty (30) seconds plus an additional thirty (30) seconds for each minute for every minute in excess of the original five (5) minutes exceeded added to the race time for the Car If a Car remains stationary for a continuous period exceeding one (1) hour it will be deemed as a compulsory rest period For any Class A Car with four (4) Drivers ONLY, the minimum drive time for any Driver with a Bronze categorisation is one hundred (100) minutes Driver Cooling Systems It is recommended that each Driver has a Driver cooling system during the Race. If the published ambient temperature of the Sunday at 1700 hours on the Saturday, as advised by the Bureau of Meteorology ({ }) is forecast to be above 30.1ºC for Bathurst, each Car must have a Driver cooling system, including any air conditioning system, fitted and operational for the Bathurst 12 Hour Race. The Driver s cooling system must either reduce the Driver s body core temperature and/or supply a constant stream of air to the Driver s helmet at a reduced temperature relative to the ambient air surrounding the outside of the Car Substances which may circulate in any cooling system worn by a Driver are restricted to water, or air at atmospheric pressure. Propylene Glycol will be permitted to be added to the volume of water used for the Driver cooling system. This can be no more than 5% of volume of the water used. Water systems must not require the saturation of a garment in order to function. In extreme heat, it is recommended that a cooling system be used (connected, for example, to the underwear designed for that purpose and homologated according to the FIA standard). Exceptionally, Driver cooling vests which are not FIA-homologated may be worn but shall be in addition to, and worn over the top of the mandatory homologated underwear. They must include a base garment certified and labelled to ISO 2019 Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour Sporting and Technical Regulations. Version 1 Page 11

12 15025 or SFI 3.3 standard; and any connection to an on-board system must comply with Article of the FIA standard The Driver cooling system must be constructed in a manner which is to the satisfaction of the Chief Scrutineer and has been designed to ensure the safe containment of the whole system during reasonably foreseeable loading conditions. Any other components or accessories, regardless of weight, which are mounted within the cockpit, must also be designed to ensure safe containment If the Car is homologated with an air conditioning unit it must remain operational and operate according to the manufacturers guidelines Each Driver must wear a helmet which can accept a forced air ventilation system The Driver s forced air ventilation system must be operational and filtered through a carbon monoxide filter The carbon monoxide filter must be fitted so that it can be confirmed it is in place visually without disassembly of the helmet ventilation system Communication to/from Car Two-way radio communication is mandatory for each Car between the Driver and a Team member in Pit Lane Each Competitor must complete the Two-way Communication information request form and return it with their Entry Form. All frequencies will be checked for compliance with the Australian Authorities. All relevant licensing and permits are the responsibility of the individual Competitor. If radio frequencies conflict with the Circuit or emergency frequencies, Competitors will be compelled to change their frequency It will be compulsory for each Team to monitor the Race Management Channel (RMC) on a listening only basis for each Session from ten (10) minutes before the time Cars are released from their Pit Garage for the Session and until the Cars are released from Parc Fermé. Messages broadcast over the RMC shall have a regulatory effect Pit Lane & Pit Garages - General The Prescribed Line referred to in these Regulations is the RED line painted in Pit Lane parallel to the garage fronts Pit Lane garage allocations will be at the discretion of the Bathurst 12 Hour Paddock Manager, with Cars allocated a garage on a shared basis where necessary It is not permitted to paint any line on any part of the Pit Lane The use of reverse gear in Pit Lane is not permitted At all times during the Event the rear Pit Garage roller door facing the paddock must remain FULLY open other than when Rule is applicable. Any pit walling must not block off the rear of the garage completely, with at least a 3-metre gap to be left All equipment, for each Car, after each Session must be cleared from Pit Lane ready for the next support category Session No equipment, Automobiles and/or display material is to be placed from the rear of the Pit Garage to the white line painted parallel to the stormwater dish drain without the express permission of the Bathurst 12 Hour Paddock Manager, this area must be kept clear at all other times for OH&S compliance With exception to a free-standing timing beacon, no equipment is to be placed on the pit wall Designated Pit Bays will be one per Pit Garage. Each bay is 8m x 4.5m. Only one Car will be permitted to occupy a Pit Bay at a time. Multi Car Teams will be permitted to use either of their allocated Pit Bays Pit Garages will be free for Teams to layout to suit their requirements. Teams sharing Pit Garaging are requested to work together to ensure a mutually agreed layout is obtained, including the location of pit stop equipment. Teams sharing a garage may be grouped for the purpose of sharing Pit Bays An opening which can accommodate the removal of a Car from Pit Lane must be kept clear to allow unimpeded entry into a Car s respective Pit Garage from Pit Lane at all times during each Session Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour Sporting and Technical Regulations. 13 3.14. Pit Booms It is permitted to use a Pit Lane boom, however, it must be constructed and assembled in such a way that it can be securely fixed to the Pit Garage structure. The only method of fixing the boom stand will be by straps and/or weights (drilling or adding of fixtures to any part of the building is NOT permitted) The minimum height clearance of the boom arm, and any associated hoses will be two (2) metres from the ground The maximum length of the boom extending into Pit Lane is five (5) metres If an overhead refuelling rig vent system cannot fit inside the Pit Garage due to height restrictions it will be permitted to modify the vent system with the addition of a flexible hose which relocates the vent system subject to it allowing any fuel entering the modified vent system to be able to flow back to fuel reservoir by gravity. This modification must also respect the homologated height of the vent system. See drawing Appendix I Fuel Storage For the duration of the Event, fuel must only be stored or transferred (into any other storage vessel or a Car) at ambient temperature The maximum quantity of fuel that can be stored for each Car in each Pit Garage at any time is 250 litres. Additional fuel to a maximum of 450 litres may be stored for each Car in any location only for a period of less than twelve (12) hours Refuelling procedures In Pit Bay: As per Rule Refuelling the Car In Pit Garages: Always with the Car s engine switched off; and With a fire attendant, present; and During any draining or refuelling procedure, the Car and vessels where fuel is being transferred must be earthed to a suitable earth point; and Any draining or refuelling procedure must be carried out using screw on or dry break type fittings, or a fuel churn utilising the FIA dry break refuelling system on the Car; and All personnel handling fuel must discharge themselves of static electricity prior to participating in any refuelling or fuel transferring procedures; and Mobile phones must be switched off in the immediate vicinity of the draining or refuelling procedure; and Any device and substance, which changes the temperature of the fuel from the ambient air temperature, is prohibited. All fuel being placed in the Car must be done so at ambient temperature Refuelling crew apparel must comply with Rule of these regulations During ANY fuel transfer (Car to container, container to Car, container to container, container to tower, tower to container, tower to Car etc.) all persons involved in the transfer or within one (1) metre of the Refuelling fittings must be attired in compliance with Rule of these regulations Spark Generating Devices The use of spark generating devices (grinders & welders etc.) is RESTRICTED to either the middle or rear of the Pit Garage (battery operated impact drivers used to loosen/tighten wheel nuts are not included in this ruling) subject to the following conditions: The rear roller door of the Pit Garage must be closed to protect the general public; All fuel storage containers must be removed to the front of the Pit Garage A fire extinguisher and fire extinguisher attendant must be located near the repair area A protective shield must be used to protect all other persons in the Pit Garage from the welding flash and/or sparks Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour Sporting and Technical Regulations. 14 3.18. Major Repairs Any Car requiring extended servicing or repairs at any time should be moved into the Pit Garage. Once the Car is moved into the Pit Garage the number of Team members permitted to service the Car is free. Also, refer to Rule In the event that a Car requires repairs which cannot be carried out in the Pit Garage, subject to receiving the prior express approval of the Chief Scrutineer, it is permitted for that Car to be removed from the Pit Garage to the scrutineering bay for these repairs to be carried out. Once these repairs have been completed, the Car must be returned to its allocated Pit Bay or Pit Garage before it re-joins the Race Track. The removal and return of any Car in these circumstances must be carried out under the supervision of and subject to the instructions of the Chief Scrutineer or their nominee. A 10km/h speed limit applies in the paddock area at all times Save as provided for in these regulations, any repairs carried out on a Car outside of the Pit Lane must only be carried out by the Driver alone using only tools or parts transported in the Car (advice given to the Driver whether by electronic means or by voice is not considered to contravene this regulation) Save as provided in Rule and , any replenishment of oil or water outside the Pit Lane is forbidden Any Car that has stopped on the Race Track and is returned to the scrutineering bay by Officials will have the option to either; Withdraw the Car from the Event, to be made in writing to the Secretary of the Event Affect repairs in the Pit Garage and/or in the scrutineering bay In such instances a Car can only re-join the Race after such repairs have been approved by the TD or the Chief Scrutineer Pit Lane Entry, Exit & Speed Limit Any Car exiting the Pit Lane must not cross the solid demarcation line that separates the pit exit road and the Track. Any Car entering the Pit Lane must not cross, in either direction, the solid line that separates the pit entry road and the Track. Penalties as detailed below may be imposed. The Judge of Fact will be advised by Bulletin at the Event During practice or qualifying: First adjudged breach a warning Second and subsequent adjudged breaches the Penalty will be a loss of the fastest lap time for the Session for each breach During Racing: For each adjudged breach - a drive through Penalty The Pit Lane speed limit is 40 km/h Penalties will be applied for any breach of the Pit Lane speed limit as per the CAMS RMSR Pushing of Cars The pushing of a Car by the Driver or by another Car along the Track or pushing it across the Finish Line is not allowed and will entail immediate exclusion of the Car or Cars concerned Practice and Qualifying Procedures Two minutes prior to the commencement of each practice and qualifying Session, each Car is required to be parked in its Pit Bay on a 45-degree angle nose out, facing towards pit exit until the pit exit is open to commence the Session, this will be advised over the RMC. If for any reason a Car is not able to start the session as described the Car must wait either, in its Pit Garage or Pit Bay until all other Cars have exited Pit Lane The Penalty for the first breach will be a warning The second and each further breach will be referred to the Stewards to impose a Penalty If a Session is stopped by the use of the red flag, Cars may either choose to stop outside of their relevant Pit Garage nose in on a 45-degree angle or stop at the Pit Lane exit in the fast lane until the recommencement of the Session. No work is permitted to be undertaken in the 2019 Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour Sporting and Technical Regulations. Version 1 Page 14

15 fast lane of the Pit Lane at any time (the connection of an auxiliary power source is permitted) From the commencement of any qualifying Session, a Car is NOT permitted to be moved back into the Pit Garage without the prior express approval of the Chief Scrutineer Any breach will result in that Car being excluded from the Session Each Driver is permitted to participate in practice and qualifying, except with the following exemptions: Class A, seeded Drivers graded Platinum or Gold by the FIA Driver categorisation system are not permitted to participate in practice Class B, C and I Drivers are not permitted to participate in qualifying The Stewards may, in their absolute discretion, direct a Driver who has not completed a suitable number of laps in practice part 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 combined, to be required to drive the Car in another Session/s as the Stewards see fit Save for Rule no Car is permitted to stop in the Pit Lane other than at its designated Pit Bay at any time Each practice Session will be time certain Refuelling Refuelling during a practice Session is only permitted in Pit Lane in Practice 5. Refuelling during each other practice Session must take place in the Pit Garage only. Each Team member across the Prescribed Line working on a Car must be attired in apparel complying with Rule of these regulations NO refuelling is permitted during any qualifying Session Qualify Parc Fermé At the conclusion of the first qualifying Session, each Class A Car must proceed directly to its Pit Bay where it will be placed under Parc Fermé conditions until commencement of the second qualifying Session. During the time between the conclusion of Qualifying Session 1 and the commencement of Qualifying Session 2, the only work that is permitted on any Class A Car is the changing of wheels / tyres Each Car in Classes other than Class A must proceed to Parc Fermé as directed by the Officials At the conclusion of qualifying 2 all Class A Cars must adhere to directions given over RMC in relation to Parc Fermé Grid Determination Grid positions for the Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour Race will be determined from lap times established in the respective Qualifying Sessions and the Top 10 Shootout The ten (10) Cars that record the fastest lap times in qualifying 2 Class A only, will participate in a top 10 shootout on Saturday 2 nd February Grid positions one (1) to ten (10) will be determined by the top ten shootout Grid positions eleven (11) onwards will be established by the fastest lap time as set by each Car in their respective qualifying Sessions The top ten shootout procedure: The top ten shootout will be regarded as a qualifying Session for those Drivers who achieve the top ten (10) places in qualifying Cars participating in the top ten shootout will be required to park nose out towards Pit Lane exit at an angle of approximately 45 degrees in their Pit Bay at all times during the shootout except when the Car is on the Race Track or entering or exiting its Pit Bay From the time that the Car is parked in Pit Lane, it will not be permitted to work on the Car, unless with the express permission of the TD (Technical Director), or until it has been released from Parc Fermé by the TD, except to: change tyres add dry ice to the Driver cooling system fit and remove windscreen shades any Car that does not comply may be excluded from the top ten shootout Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour Sporting and Technical Regulations. 16 3.23. Race Start Procedure The starting order for the top ten shootout will be from tenth to first as established by the fastest lap time achieved by a Driver in qualifying Each Car will be released on one (1) warm-up lap from Pit Lane. As the Car crosses the Finish Line, the Driver will be shown a green flag which will signal the start of that Driver s timed lap When the Car crosses the Finish Line at the end of its timed lap, the Driver will be shown a chequered flag indicating the end of the timed lap, whereupon the Driver must reduce speed, complete an almost full cool-down lap and re-enter Pit Lane via the Pit Lane entry and park in its designated Pit Bay at 45 degrees nose out. Parc Fermé conditions will apply with the exception that tyre pressures and temperatures may be recorded by either a Team member or a representative of the Organiser s tyre supplier During the cool-down lap, the Car must be driven at a reasonable pace and the Driver must not interfere with, baulk or cause obstruction to any other Car which may be on the Race Track at the same time The Car nominated to start the Session must be at the Pit Lane exit at the scheduled start time of the Session Unless instructed otherwise by the Race Director, it is the responsibility of the Competitor to ensure their Car is at the Pit Lane exit prior to the preceding Car receiving the green flag to commence its timed lap Any Competitor that fails to have their Car at the Pit Lane exit at the relevant time will have their time excluded from the Session A Driver will be permitted to qualify only one (1) Car in the top ten shootout, and that Car must be the Car that Driver will drive in the race The top ten shootout Session length may be extended by a maximum of ten (10) minutes If two or more Drivers record equal lap times in qualifying Sessions, the first Driver to record the time will take precedence with regard to the top 10 shootout starting order and for grid positions The start procedure for this race will be as per the RMSR item 6.4 (i) Steps 1 and 4 Championship Rolling Start of the current CAMS Manual. except as follows; Each Car is required to be parked on a 45-degree angle nose out, facing towards pit exit in front of it respective garage 5 minutes prior to the opening of Pit Lane exit. (The front right tyre is to be placed where the concrete meets the bitumen in Pit Lane), Once pit exit is open to commence the observation lap all Cars are required to leave in Pit Lane order, if a Car doesn t leave in Pit Lane order they are required to wait until the last Car has passed them in the fast lane Twenty-five (25) minutes prior to the scheduled start of the formation lap, pit exit will open and Cars may leave Pit Lane on one (1) observation lap. At the end of this lap each Car must stop on their allocated grid position with their engines stopped The Pit Lane exit will be closed ten (10) minutes prior to the scheduled start of the formation lap A warning will be sounded two (2) minutes prior to the closure of the Pit Lane exit It will not be permitted to change tyres on the grid. Permission will be given via RMC to change from slicks to wet weather tyres if required Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour Sporting and Technical Regulations. Version 1 Page 16

17 3.24. Race Pit Stop Procedure Car Controller At all times whilst a Car is stationary in its Pit Bay it must remain under the control of a designated Car Controller who must remain at the front of the Car in clear view of the Driver and is responsible for the safe conduct of the pit stop and departure of the Car at the completion of any pit stop. The Car Controller is not permitted to assist in any way with a pit stop and will not count in any following regulation regarding the number of persons permitted to assist with a pit stop For each pit stop, the Car Controller may be in a position in Pit Lane to assume control of the Car one (1) lap before the Car crosses the Control Line at pit entry Driver Change A Driver change may be carried out at any time during a pit stop. The incoming or exiting Driver is not permitted to perform any other duties during the Driver change. Changing of drink bottles will be deemed part of the Driver change A nominated Driver Assistant may ONLY be used to assist with the Driver change, to change drink bottles and/or to replenish a Driver Cooling System. The nominated Driver Assistant is free to change drink bottles and/or replenish a Driver Cooling System regardless of whether a Driver change is taking place or not. The changing of drinks bottles and/or replenishment of a Driver Cooling System may take place at any time during a pit stop. No other duties may be performed by a Driver Assistant The Team data downloading person is only permitted to download data from the Car by the connection of a cable or by removing and replacing a data storage device. They are not permitted to undertake any other tasks during a pit stop Each incoming Driver and the nominated Driver Assistant must not cross the Prescribed Line into Pit Lane until the Car has come to a complete stop in its Pit Bay The Driver who has exited the Car and the nominated Driver Assistant must be behind the Prescribed Line before the Car is released from its Pit Bay at the conclusion of a pit stop Change of Driver may only take place in the Teams Pit Bay or Pit Garage General If a Car stops in Pit Lane before reaching, or passes its designated Pit Garage, the Car may be pushed to and/or back to its Pit Bay area by a maximum of 6 members of its Team A pit stop procedure can be made up only of the following activities: Refuelling the Car or Servicing the Car Any Refuelling of a Car must be completed prior to any Servicing of a Car being carried out At NO time are both the Refuelling and Servicing activities to be performed at the same time Other than the Car Controller, all personnel and equipment (other than any wheel chock that is used exclusively to prevent the Car from rolling) must be behind the Prescribed Line before an activity will be deemed completed. Only then can a new activity begin or the Car Controller can release the Car. If the chock is not removed, it must be restrained In addition to the Car Controller, a Team data downloading person, the nominated Driver Assistant, host TV broadcast crew members and tyre company technicians a maximum of: Four (4) Team members are permitted to assist with any refuelling activity. The duties are restricted to: Refueller (x1) During the refueling of the Car, the Refueller must only handle and operate the refueling hose for the duration of the refueling operation Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour Sporting and Technical Regulations. 18 Fuel Rig Emergency Cut-Off Attendant (x1) a) Whose sole task is to operate the fuel cut-off valve on the overhead refuelling rig and must not undertake any other work on a Car during the pit stop. b) Must only hold the cut-off valve on the overhead refuelling rig open for the duration of the refuelling operation. Fire Attendant (x1) a) Whose sole task is to operate the fire extinguisher. b) During any pit stop where refuelling takes place, must not undertake any other task for the duration of the pit stop. c) Must be equipped with a fire extinguisher and be positioned near the Car and the overhead refuelling rig on the Pit Garage side. d) Must remain in position for the duration of the pit stop unless otherwise approved by the TD. Refueller Assistant/Vent Hose Operator (x1) During the refueling of a Car, a Refueller Assistant may hold the refueling hose over the rear of the Car Three (3) Team members are permitted to assist with any servicing activity. The duties are restricted to: Changing wheels and tyres (a maximum of 2 x wheel guns are permitted to be used at any one time) Changing of brake pads and or discs and or calipers Cleaning windscreens and or removal of tear offs if applicable Checking and or adjustment of tyre pressures Adding fluids (except fuel) Removing dirt or grass from the radiator and brake ducting Repairs to the Car without the use of tools (taping of body work) All other operations must be carried out in the Pit Garage. The Car must be pushed into the Pit Garage by no more than six Team members. At the end of the operations, the Car must be pushed out of the Pit Garage and all Team members (except the Car Controller) and equipment must be behind the Prescribed Line prior to the Car leaving its Pit Bay During a pit stop the engine must be switched off. The engine may only be restarted at the completion of the pit stop when all four (4) wheels attached to the Car are on the ground. The Car must start by its own means without any outside assistance Equipment and Team members may only cross the Prescribed Line into Pit Lane after the Car has come to a complete stop within its Pit Bay on the concrete apron. Once any equipment or Team member has crossed the Prescribed Line an activity will be deemed to have commenced Any Car driving over any equipment or personnel may receive a Penalty as determined by the Stewards Host TV broadcast crew members (changing and/or adjusting any in Car cameras) and tyre company tyre technicians (inspecting or recording tyre temperatures) will not be counted as part of the maximum number of Team members permitted to assist with the pit stop. These operations may be carried out at any time during a pit stop, but if during refuelling of the Car and within one (1) metre of the Refuelling fittings then that person must be attired as per Rule of these regulations Any Car double stacking in Pit Lane whether stationary or not, is not permitted to unnecessarily impede another Car from entering or exiting their respective Pit Bay Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour Sporting and Technical Regulations. 19 Each Team member, Driver Assistant and data personnel who enter Pit Lane during the race are required to be attired to Rule of these regulations In addition to the Car Controller and Vent Hose Operator (if required), the Fuel Rig Emergency Cut-Off Attendant will be permitted across the Prescribed Line prior to the Car stopping in its Pit Bay Refuelling the Car All Refuelling procedures must comply with Schedule N of the current CAMS Manual.. Schedule%20N pdf An overhead refuelling rig complying with either FIA Appendix J Article 257A or Schedule N of the CAMS Manual must be used. For a Car that is approved to be fitted with other than a Siamese coupling, the inlet and vent hoses may be separate In the Event that a Car is fitted with separate inlet and vent hoses, it is permitted for the Vent Hose Operator to be across the Prescribed Line prior to the Car coming to a stop to commence a pit stop. Once the Car Refueller has crossed the Prescribed Line, the refuelling is deemed to have been completed, even if the Vent Hose Operator has not yet crossed the Prescribed Line At all times during the race, Refuelling of the Car must only be carried out in a Cars designated Pit Bay NO refuelling is permitted at any time during the race inside a Pit Garage Competitors must provide two (2) up to date, tagged and fully functional dry chemical powder fire extinguishers (each of a minimum capacity of 4.5kg with 9kg fire extinguishers being strongly recommended) per Car under their control which meets Australian Safety Standards. Note: One (1) 9kg fire extinguisher is not an acceptable alternative FIA Refuelling Rig: If an FIA refuelling rig as specified in Appendix J Article 257A Technical Regulations for Grand Touring Cars (Group GT3) is used, the size of the fuel restrictor must be as specified on the BoP. Each Car Competing in Class A must use the FIA refuelling rig as specified in Appendix J Article 257A Technical Regulations for Grand Touring Cars (Group GT3) CAMS Refuelling Rig: If a CAMS refuelling rig as specified in Schedule N of the current CAMS Manual is used, then the following must be complied with Each refuelling rig must be fitted with a fuel flow restrictor, which must be fitted into the refuelling hose within 150mm of the dry-break coupling and through which all fuel being transferred to the Car must pass. Each Car must only be refuelled from a refuelling rig that has a fuel flow restrictor fitted as detailed below The restrictor must be 75mm long, be circular in section and have a maximum internal diameter (restriction) as detailed in the drawing and table below. The internal diameter (restriction) must be maintained for a distance of 3mm. The minimum internal diameter either side of the restriction is 44mm, maintained for 36mm. This restrictor must comply with the drawing as below: Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour Sporting and Technical Regulations. Version 1 Page 19

20 Make Model Refueling Tower Restrictor Size (maximum inside diameter) All All 32mm From the commencement of the first qualifying Session, Teams will not be permitted to change the type of refuelling rig used e.g. FIA to CAMS At all times when filling or emptying a refuelling rig in the Pit Garage each Team member must be fully attired in apparel as per Rule A similarly attired attendant, with a minimum of a 4.5kg fire extinguisher must also be present Each Pit Garage has two (2) earthing points indicated by a green square plate marked Equipotential Bond Point. This is the ONLY earthing point for the refuelling rig and Team Managers are responsible for ensuring that their rig is connected appropriately Each refuelling rig must be suitably restrained to the pit building structure to prevent it falling in the event of any accident in Pit Lane. The restraint of each refuelling rig will be subject to the approval of the Chief Scrutineer. It is not permitted to drill or add fixtures to the concrete floor and/or any part of the garage structure. If using a refuelling rig which complies with the FIA Appendix J Article 257A Technical Regulations for Grand Touring Cars (Group GT3) restraints to the building will not be required subject to the base of the refuelling rig being ballasted with weight greater than that of the tank when filled with fuel Servicing the Car Teams must use solid incompressible components capable of supporting the Car in the Event of a jacking system failure. These must be positioned under the Car at all times while persons working on the Car have any part of their body under any part of the Car. This does not include wheel changing operations and brake pad changes, where the techniques involved do not require persons to place any part of their body under the Car, other than hands and arms The maximum number of powered tools (hand or otherwise) used to loosen or retension the wheel nuts is two (2) except as per Rule below; For Class C, GT4 Cars ONLY I. For a Car with centre lock wheel systems: Wheel/Tyre changer two (2) people with a maximum of one (1) powered tool. II. For a Car with wheels using studs and nuts: Wheel/Tyre changer four (4) people with a maximum of two (2) powered tools The only type of tool permitted, as referred to in Rule above, which is not hand powered, must only be air/nitrogen powered or a battery powered non spark generating tool as per Any person who crosses the Prescribed Line and/or assists during the pit stop by passing or moving tools and/or components from the Pit Garage over the Prescribed Line into Pit Lane shall be deemed as working on the Car (this does not include placing or removing the wheel chock in position) Any person receiving components or tools rolled from Pit Lane over the Prescribed Line into the Pit Garage shall not be deemed as working on the Car Safety Car Intervention Teams will be advised over the RMC if the Race Director and/or Clerk of the Course decides to use the Safety Car to neutralise the race. The use of the Safety Car will be conducted in accordance with Article 6.12 of the CAMS RMSR, except for the following: No pitching or weaving of a Car is permitted once the lights on the Safety Car are extinguished and prior to Cars crossing the Control Line at the withdrawal of the Safety Car Overlapping but not overtaking will be permitted after the apex of the last turn prior to the Control Line Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour Sporting and Technical Regulations. 21 Driving unnecessarily slowly under Safety Car conditions, on Track or in Pit Lane may be subject to a Penalty by the Stewards Suspending and Resuming a Race Will be conducted in accordance with Article 6.14 of the CAMS RMSR Race Finish The chequered flag signalling the end of the race will be displayed to the lead Car the second (2nd) time it crosses the Finish Line after 1743 hours or; If the leading Car is not running on the Track at the time the race is scheduled to finish, the chequered flag shall be shown to the next placed Car To be classified as a finisher, a Car must comply with the requirements of RMSR Article 6.11 (e) Each Car, which has completed the race, must proceed directly to the Parc Fermé area. Any breach of this regulation may result in exclusion from the race Parc Fermé Race Finish At the conclusion of the race Parc Fermé will be located in the Scrutiny Bay area. ARTICLE 4. MARKINGS ON CARS 4.1. Required Markings The markings on each Car must remain in compliance with Schedule K of the current CAMS Manual and as detailed in the Signage Diagram of these Regulations The 12 Hour Administrator will supply Competitors with Event sponsor decals during Event registration on Wednesday 30 th January. Each Competitor will be supplied with three sets of decals for each Car. Should a Competitor require additional or replacement decals, these are to be procured from the official sign writer at the Competitor s expense. The decals required are as follows and the position of Event sponsors decals are as detailed in the Signage Diagram of these Regulations The front (220mm from bottom of strip to top of windscreen) windscreen strip of all Cars is to be left vacant for use by the Organiser, with decals to be supplied by the 12 Hour Administrator. Competitors are prohibited from placing any other signage on the windscreen The side number panels will be supplied by the 12 Hour Administrator to the following specifications; White panels 260 mm high x 380 mm wide and placed 10mm to 20mm back from the front door line A side number panel of 380mm x 120mm is to be left vacant for the Organiser, with decals to be supplied by the 12 Hour Administrator, and placed immediately above the side number panels referred to above The competition numbers will be supplied by the 12 Hour Administrator, which will be 180mm high x 300mm wide and in the type face Maiandra GD Bold Italic The Car class letters will be supplied by the 12 Hour Administrator, which will be 100mm high in Maiandra GD bold italic and placed on the bottom right hand side of the number panel The front and rear number plate areas are to be left vacant for the Organiser, with decals to by supplied by the 12 Hour Administrator. The dimensions of these decals are 380mm x 100mm and Teams will have a choice of hard plates or stickers depending on their Car requirements Class A front number plate Class signage Class A rear number plate Class Driver categorisation signage The front and rear windscreen number and class letter will be supplied by the 12 Hour Administrator Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour Sporting and Technical Regulations. 23 ARTICLE 5. TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS: ALL CLASSES 5.1. Balance of Performance (BoP) Each Car must conform to all provisions of the relevant Balance of Performance (BoP) document as detailed in the Supplementary Regulations Definition of Minimum Weight The weight of the empty Car (without persons, luggage, tools or jack aboard). Any reservoir containing a liquid (e.g., lubrication, cooling, brake fluid, heating if necessary) shall be filled to the level laid down by the manufacturer, with the exception of the windscreen or headlight washer, brake cooling system, fuel system, and water injection/intercooler spray system, which shall all be empty Ride Height Measurement (for Classes A, B & C) Cars will be measured for minimum height under the following conditions: The test surface will be in bay 2 of the Scrutineering shed (bay next to the scales) Tyre pressures will be set at 22psi (151.6kpa) The Car will be presented in a minimum weight condition Battery Isolation Switch: Each Car must have a battery isolator switch fitted as per Schedule C in the current CAMS Manual, which isolates the battery and stops the engine. It must be able to be operated by the Driver in his normal seating position. In addition to this, there must be a second switch, or a remote means of operating the main switch located in the vicinity of the base of the A pillar on the Driver s side. This external device must be clearly marked by a symbol showing a red spark in a white edged blue triangle of minimum edge length of 150mm Fire Extinguishers: 5.6. Fuel Each Car that is FIA GT3 Homologated must be fitted with a fire extinguishing system in compliance with FIA Standard The system must be used in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and with Technical List No. 52, and in accordance with Article except as regards the means of triggering Each other class of Car must be fitted with a fire extinguishing system homologated by the FIA in accordance with the FIA Standard for plumbed-in Fire Extinguisher Systems in Competition Cars (1999) or with FIA Standard Each fire extinguisher system must be fitted in accordance with FIA Article , except for the requirement for the external triggering, and in accordance with the FIA Technical Lists No.16 and No.52. An additional means of triggering the fire extinguisher system from the outside, must be fitted in the vicinity of the base of the A pillar on the Driver s side and must be marked with a letter "E" in red inside a red-edged white circle at least 100 mm in diameter. Each fire extinguisher homologated by the FIA (plumbed in type) must be serviced every two years, either by the manufacturer or their agent, and service records must be made available to the Chief Scrutineer on demand Fuel shall be exclusively supplied by the Organiser via Race Fuels, Mark Tierney (mtierney@racefuels.com.au) or +61 (0) All fuel used at the Event MUST be purchased from Race Fuels either in advance or during the Event Fuel will only be dispensed to each Competitor in sealed 200 litre drums. Each Competitor must have a pump to transfer the fuel to any overhead refuelling tower. It is highly recommended that the connection of the pump hose to the overhead refuelling rig is completed by using screw on or dry break type fittings Competitors must complete and send to Race Fuels a Fuel Order form as available through the 12 Hour Administrator The fuel prices will be displayed at the bowser during the Event Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour Sporting and Technical Regulations. 24 5.7. Harnesses / Seats: A safety harness shall be fitted as detailed in Schedule I in the current CAMS Manual Each seat for a Driver shall comply with the FIA 8855/99 or FIA standards. Please note: The use of a seat that complies with the FIA standard, or a seat that complies with the FIA 8855/99 standard and which incorporates side head support structure, is strongly recommended. Where a seat that complies with the FIA standard is being used, the seat shall only be fitted with the seat mounts bearing the same FIA homologation number unless an alternative seat mount has been homologated by CAMS, in which case these seat mounts may be used Elastic devices attached to the shoulder straps of a harness are forbidden Racing Net/Window Net Each Car is to have a window net covering the Driver s door window opening forward to the centre of the steering wheel in accordance with Schedule I of the current CAMS Manual unless Rule below applies. The net may be modified to preserve the Driver s view of the external mirror. It must be fitted with a quick release system that the Driver can operate with one hand Any Car fitted with a permanently closed shatterproof window on the Driver s door that is able to withstand a load of 500N applied at any point will be deemed to comply with the requirement for a window net Each Car homologated by the FIA must be fitted with the homologated Racing Net in accordance with the FIA regulations Rear View Mirror Each Car must be fitted with at least two (2) functional rear-view mirrors each with a reflecting surface measuring at least 50 square cm as per Schedule C in the current CAMS Manual Safety Cage A safety cage structure complying with the requirements of Schedule J in the current CAMS Manual shall be fitted. CAMS may accept safety cages homologated or certified to the FIA Homologation Regulations by other ASNs; however, prior to importing an Automobile for Competition it is strongly recommended that due process be followed regarding safety cage compliance for Competition in Australia. The cage / certification would need to comply with the FIA regulations in force at the time the Car was built. Any NEW Car will need to comply with the current FIA requirements. If a Car has not Competed at Bathurst previously, and there is any doubt about the compliance of the safety cage, please contact the TD. Any chromoly cage built must be certified / homologated Towing Points: Each Car must be fitted with visible towing points as per Schedule C in the current CAMS Manual. They shall be fitted forward of the front axle, and rearward of the rear axle, and capable of towing the Car on a sealed surface with the wheels locked. 25 With the exception of wear resulting from normal usage, each tyre must remain unmodified except as detailed below; A section of build-up measuring a maximum of 50mm x 50mm may be removed from each tyre to allow the tyre tread depth to be measured at a maximum of eight (8) locations on any one (1) tyre It is prohibited to fit a tyre marked fora Car entered to any other Car or Automobile for the duration of the Event Each tyre fitted to a Car at any time must be the same type (see note below). In the case of a Car, which is homologated with different size rims on the front and rear axles, each tyre on the same axle must be of the same type and each tyre fitted to a Car must be of the same compound. Note: the term Type refers to the size, construction and compound of a given tyre Sensors for measuring the pressure and the temperature of the tyres when the Car is in motion are strongly recommended. If these sensors are used, there must be at least one warning light to notify the Driver of a probable failure Teams will be permitted to transmit this information from the Car across telemetry (if used) Tyre pressure control valves that automatically control tyre pressures are forbidden Each tyre must be a commercially available tyre equally available to all relevant Competitors. Tyre manufacturers or their representative may be asked to provide evidence to the TD that tyres supplied and/or being used are commercially available tyres. The TD may impound tyres for inspection to ascertain validity The TD is the sole arbiter with regard to interpretation and application of these tyre regulations and any decision made by the TD in this regard shall not be the subject of any protest or appeal Dry Weather Tyres: A maximum of forty-eight (48) NEW dry weather tyres only, purchased EXCLUSIVELY FOR THE 2018 Liqui-moly Bathurst 12 Hour from the nominated tyre supplier, must be marked/scanned for exclusive use on each Car during all practice Sessions, qualifying Sessions and the race NO PREVIOUSLY PURCHASED NEW AND/OR USED TYRES are permitted to be used at any time during the 2018 Liqui-moly Bathurst 12 Hour. It is the responsibility of the Competitor to ensure that all tyres are marked or scanned Each Competitor participating in the Top 10 Shoot Out qualifying Session may utilise an additional four (4) dry weather tyres for each Car for this Session only, providing these tyres have been purchased exclusively from the nominated tyre supplier and marked/scanned per Rule These tyres will not be included in the maximum allocation specified in Rule and must be used only in the Top 10 Shootout qualifying Session The additional four (4) dry weather tyres allocated for the Top 10 shootout qualifying Session are to be returned to the nominated tyre supplier 2 hours after the Top 10 Shoot Out qualifying Session has finished The Penalty for not returning the Tyres purchased for the Top 10 Shoot Out qualifying Session is relegation to tenth(10 th ) position on the grid for the Race. If there is more than one (1) Team in breach of this Rule their qualifying times in the Top 10 Shoot Out will be used to determine their grid position With exception to Rule , any Car that uses more than the forty-eight (48) dry weather tyres allocated will receive a Penalty of a minimum of a one (1) lap deleted from the number of laps completed by the Car in the race per extra tyre used or any other Penalty as determined by the Stewards for each extra tyre used Wet Weather Tyres: Wet weather tyres are free in number however they must be purchased from the nominated tyre supplier. The TD shall be the sole arbiter as to whether any tyre is deemed to be a dry tyre or a wet tyre and their decision in this regard shall not be the subject of any protest or appeal Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour Sporting and Technical Regulations. 26 5.15. Tyre Heating Tyre heating/heat retention devices and chemical treatments are strictly prohibited except for the following: For Class A Cars Only the use of one (1) heating cupboard per Car for heating the tyres is permitted subject to the following conditions: It must fit into a rectangular cuboid of Width 4m x Height 2m x Depth 1.5m No part of a cupboard can be situated inside the Pit Garage, on the Pit Lane or on the grid. The 12Hour Paddock Manager will provide direction as to the location of each tyre heating cupboard There must only be one system for heating the interior of the cupboard which must be a forced air system and must run on fuel oil (diesel) Each cupboard must be made from non-flammable materials and to the approval of the Supercars Sporting and Technical Director The transportation of tyres must be carried out without thermal protection Windscreens: The windscreen of each Car shall correspond to their respective FIA Homologation or, in the case of a Car without FIA homologation they shall comply with the requirements of Schedule C in the current CAMS Manual Except as detailed otherwise in these regulations, laminated glass must only be used in any windscreen. It shall not be tinted or coloured unless fitted as standard equipment to the Production Automobile by the manufacturer Polycarbonate windscreens may be used but only if they are detailed in the Car s homologation documents Automatic Timing System Each Car must use the Driver timing transponder specified by the Organiser throughout the Event. It is the responsibility of each Competitor to obtain this transponder at their own expense, to install it, to make it work correctly, and to ensure it is showing the correct information at all times. This transponder must be installed in strict compliance with the relevant instructions as detailed in Appendix II. Any problems with the transponder must be notified to the Race Director immediately BoP Data Logging/Telemetry: Class A: Each Class A Car, whether Forced Induction (FI) or Naturally Aspirated (NA), entered in the Event must be fitted with a MoTeC BoP logger Class C: BoP Data Logging will be mandatory for GT4 Cars Costs: - BoP Logger Only: The hire cost of BoP Logger unit is $ AUS (plus GST) each for the Event payable to the Bathurst 12 Hour Event Organiser. - BoP Logger/Telemetry Unit: The hire of telemetry equipment and support to operate from the BoP Logger is $ AUS (plus GST) each for the Event payable to MoTeC, please contact MoTeC if you wish to take up this option no later than Tuesday 18 th December A $600 AUS credit card authorisation will need to be taken at time of payment. This will be released once the BoP Logger/Telemetry unit is returned undamaged. 27 Costs: Australian Teams: Each BoP Logger unit will be sent to each Australian Team from the Organiser commencing from Monday 7 th January 2019 for the Teams to preinstall the unit, and must be installed and be operational in accordance with instructions issued by MoTeC, the Organiser and the TD for the duration of the Event International Teams: Each BoP Logger/Telemetry unit will be provided to each International Team from the Organiser from Wednesday 30 th January 2019 and must be installed and be operational in accordance with instructions issued by MoTeC, the Organiser and the TD for the duration of the Event The TD shall be the sole arbiter in regard to the interpretation of any BoP data recorded by the BoP Logger and the compliance of any Car with the maximum boost limit specified in the respective Car s BoP (or otherwise). Any non-compliance shall be reported to the Stewards with a recommendation of exclusion from the relevant Session/s Engine and Turbo Seals A Car which is not prepared for sealing using following Rules will not be allowed to attend scrutiny The Competitor must drill enough holes in the ribs and/or in 2 consecutive screws in the sump, cylinder block, cylinder head and cylinder head covers Twisted wire must be installed on each side of the engine, coming from the sump, joining each group of screws, holes or ribs so that all these parts cannot be separated Wire ends must be situated above left and right cylinder heads and be long enough to allow the plaques and seals to be affixed Any break of a seal during the Event must be requested in writing to the TD The restrictors (FIA GT3 2013/2014/2016 geometry), in accordance with the BoP decisions for this Event, should also be prepared for sealing and the wires need to be present Any Car equipped with turbo chargers will have to prepare each turbo for sealing Turbo sealing: Wire must be installed in a way that does not allow the turbo to be opened. 28 5.20. Brake Pads & Discs The material, compound and source of supply for brake pads are free so long as they comply with all other requirements as outlined in the homologation document of each Car. The brand and source of supply of brake discs must remain as detailed in the homologation document of each Car or, where relevant, CAMS Recognition Document Fuel Tank Any Class A, B & C Car that has an FIA Homologated dry break system, or Class I Car that has a dry break system, that is not the approved CAMS Siamese dry break system will need to submit evidence and seek approval from CAMS Each other Car must comply with the requirements from Schedule N of the current CAMS Manual for dry break fuel systems The fuel system capacity for each Car in Class A, B or C is per that respective Car s homologation document The fuel system capacity for each Car in Class I (except MARC II) is 100 litres The fuel system capacity for each MARC II Car is 120 litres Permitted Modifications & Evolution Upgrades Each Car must remain in accordance with their FIA/CAMS approved Homologation/Recognition document. No modifications are permitted unless expressly permitted by the Organiser and mandated in Further Regulations Each Competitor must have copies of all relevant FIA/CAMS documents as listed in Rule for each Car entered and these documents must be produced when requested by the TD Ballast Any ballast requested to be installed for BoP measures must be securely installed within the cockpit of the Car so as to not hinder the cockpit exit or Driver s visibility. Ballast must be covered by a rigid protective material and must be able to be sealed by the TD Any Class A Cars which is not carrying an in-car camera system for the Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour broadcast, will be required to carry additional ballast equal to the weight of the incar camera equipment The equivalent camera equipment ballast mass is 4kg The mass must be clearly identifiable, and have the ability to be sealed The mass must be installed in the BoP ballast box if fitted. If a Car does not have a BoP ballast box the mass must be located within the cockpit of the Car Permitted Modifications Class B Only The fitment and use of an aftermarket paddle-shift system is permitted for each Car entered in Class B. At all times the specification and functionality of any aftermarket paddleshift system is subject to the approval of the TD and any decision made by the TD in this regard shall not be the subject of any protest or appeal The air spike may be moved to the left-hand side of the Car An FIA approved refuelling dry brake system as previously recognised for the specific make/model of Car is permitted Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour Sporting and Technical Regulations. 30 APPENDIX II DORIAN DATA-1 AUTOMATIC DRIVER ID SYSTEM. The Dorian DATA-1 Automatic Driver ID System consists of two main components connected together by a cable. The main component is the special DATA-1 transmitter which transmits the unique car id code from the Car to the receiver antennas embedded in the Race Track, and then to the Track Side Receiver (decoder). The information is then passed on to the timing system computers for processing. The other component is the RFID receiver in the cabin of the Car, and the RFID chip which is placed on the Driver s helmet communications connector. The RFID receiver detects the unique code of each Driver whilst they are in the Car with their headset cable connected to the Car s communications radio system. The two components are connected by a cable. The length of this cable is 3.6 metres, which needs to be considered when deciding on locations of the components in and under the Car. RFID chips are also required to be fitted to each Driver s helmet connector. A deposit will be required for the chips, this fee will be $5.00 for each chip, one required for each helmet that each Driver will use. This amount will be refunded if the chips are returned after the Event, if they are not returned the deposit will be forfeited. Dorian DATA-1 Transmitter The Dorian DATA-1 transmitter must be mounted under the Car, no higher than 350 mm, with no metal or carbon fibre between the transmitter and the Race Ttrack surface. The orientation is also important, it must be mounted longitudinal along the length of the Car. There must not be any metal or carbon fibre directly in front or behind the transmitter, a clearance of 10 cm is desirable. Below are the Dorian Industries Recommended Mounting arrangements, although the drawings indicate 400mm max height, for GT Cars with full carbon under trays the recommended max height is 350 mm Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour Sporting and Technical Regulations. 31 Automatic RFID Receiver The RFID receiver is mounted in the Driver s cabin with the NEXIS TJ-101 radio connecter mounted in the centre of the RFID receiver, the maximum outer diameter of the connector cannot exceed 16mm. The NEXIS TP-120B connector on the cable from the helmet kit has a small RFID device attached to the side of the casing. When the helmet plug is inserted into the NEXIS socket, the code identifying the Driver is transferred to the Dorian DATA-1 transmitter and then to the timing and scoring system. RFID Plug-Socket-01 RFID Plug-Socket-02 The location of the RFID chip on the helmet plug is critical; it needs to be mounted as close to the shoulder of the connector as is practically possible with no metal around the chip. When the helmet plug is inserted correctly the front of the chip must be within 2mm of the front edge of the receptacle. 32 If a quick pull system with dry-break fluid fittings is used, the chip must not be fully or even partially covered by metal. A number of organisations manufacture mountings to carry the helmet plug and a dry-break fluid fitting together, two are shown below. 1. Garry Rogers Motorsport manufacture a system made from plastic, so far there have been no issues with these fittings, the RFID chip is mounted in a slot moulded into the plastic around the NEXUS connector. GRM Multi Holder Ash Seaward distributes a system manufactured from aluminium by Force Accessories, there has been an issue with some of these, however there is a simple fix. On the adapter plate, If the dimension of the offset between the mounting holes for the dry-break connector and the RFID receiver mounting holes is increased to 12-13mm it allows the helmet radio plug to protrude 14mm from the aluminium quick pull housing, this then has enough space to mount the RFID chip in front of the housing. Force Industries Multi Holder-01 Force Industries Multi Holder There are other manufacturers of Quick Pull Multi Holders, however they are all very similar to the two shown above.
