3 ASSEMBLY 1. The MH-Small is designed to clamp one of the front caster wheels of a mower to the floor of a trailer. Arrange the mower on the trailer in the location in which you prefer to transport it. Leave approximately 4 of clearance in front of the wheel for operation of the mower holder. Mark the location of the wheel on the trailer floor and remove from the trailer. 2. Position the mounting plate on the trailer floor so that it is centered over the wheel location that was marked in the step 1. The 2 bent flanges on the mounting plate go toward the front and the chock goes toward the rear of the trailer. Mark the locations of the 4 holes on the trailer floor. Check underneath where the holes would be to make sure that you do not drill into any wires or frame members. Figure 1 3. Drill 3/8 holes in the marked locations. Attach the mounting plate to the trailer deck using the 3/8-16 x 2 ¾ carriage bolts, 3/8-16 nylon lock nuts, and 3/8 flat washers as shown in figure 1. NOTE: Trailer deck must be a minimum of 1 ½ thick. If it is not, it will be necessary to add a reinforcement board under the trailer floor where the mower holder is mounted so that the combined thickness is at least 1 ½. 4. Attach the latch pieces to the side plate using the 3/8-16 x 1 carriage bolts, 3/8-16 nylon lock nuts, and 3/8 flat washers as shown in figure Slide the 2 ratcheting lock bars onto the handle rod (the middle length rod), and secure it to the latches with the 5/16-18 x 5/8 flange bolt as shown in figure 3. Use one of these bolts to attach one end of the chain Figure 2 to the handle rod. The other end of the chain will attach to the clamping rod so that it is not lost. The side of the mower holder you attach the chain to is up to you. 6. Attach the lock handle rod (the shortest rod) to the ratcheting lock bars with the 5/16-18 x 5/8 flange bolt as shown in figure 4. Attach the other end of the chain to one end of the clamping rod (the longest rod) with a 5/16-18 x 5/8 flange bolt and screw the other 5/16-18 x 5/8 flange bolt into the other end of the clamping rod. You have now completed the upper assembly. Figure 4 7. Slide the upper assembly onto the base plate so that the 2 bent flanges on the side plate lock into the slots on the base plate. Secure using 3/8-16 x 1 carriage bolts, 3/8-16 locking T-knobs, and 3/8 flat washers as shown in figure 5. The height can be adjusted later after the caster is in the holder. 8. The whole assembly can now be attached to the mounting plate on the trailer floor. Slide the base plate onto the mounting plate so that the 2 bent flanges on the mounting plate engage the slots in the bottom of the base plate. Slide the quick release pin through the hole on the side of the base plate and under the bent chock of the mounting plate as shown in figure 6. Secure with the 1/8 hitch pin. 4 9. The mower holder is quickly adjustable to accommodate different size tires. The small mower holder will fit 7 to 10 tires, the Small mower holder and the spreader holder will fit 10 to 12.5 tires. To use the mower/spreader holder, remove the clamping rod form the latch and set aside. Drive the mower s front caster into the holder and adjust the height of the side plate using the T-knobs and carriage bolts so that the clamping rod is just above the tire when placed back into the latch as shown in figure 7. Lift up on the handle rod so that the clamping rod clamps down on the tire, securing the mower/spreader in place. The ratcheting lock bars catch on the front wall of the side plate and keep a constant downward force on the tire. To remove the mower/spreader, lift up slightly on the handle to release the lock bar, and lower the handle. It is not necessary to move the clamping rod out of the way once the handle is lowered as the tire will push it out when you drive the mower/spreader out of the holder. The holder is lockable to deter theft by placing a padlock through the locking hole in the side plate in front of the latch. 5 LIMITED WARRANTY Seller (Jungle Jim s Accessory Products, Inc.) warrants that the MH-SMALL product (device) will comply with applicable laws governing the operation of such a device. Seller further warrants that the device will be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of one year from the date that the device is purchased. During the stated warranty period, seller will issue replacement parts for any part that is found to be defective. Seller shall not be required to replace any part if the device has been abused or not operated in accordance with the printed instructions which were provided with the device. After the initial warranty period, seller shall have no obligations or liability to the purchaser. The warranties provided hereunder shall not apply if the device has been subject to accident, negligence, alteration (including signs of welding) abuse or misuse. Seller makes no warranty whatsoever with respect to accessories or parts not supplied by it. Further, this warranty shall apply only to the original purchaser. Original purchaser shall mean that person or entity who first acquired the device. Seller does not warrant this device to meet the requirements of any safety code of any state, municipality or other jurisdiction. Purchaser assumes all risk and liability whatsoever resulting from the use thereof whether used singly or in combination with other machines or apparatus. Further, seller is not liable for replacement of equipment secured using the device. Purchaser is responsible for ensuring that all hardware is checked periodically for security of said equipment. THIS WARRANTY IS EXPRESSLY MADE IN LIEU OF THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR USE AND ANY OTHER WARRANTIES EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED. THE SOLE LIABILITY OF THE WARRANTY SHALL BE THE REPLACEMENT OF PARTS REQUIRED TO MAINTAIN THE DEVICE IN PROPER WORKING ORDER. THE SELLER SHALL NOT BE HELD LIABLE FOR ANY DELAYS CAUSED BY CIRCUMSTANCES BEYOND ITS CONTROL OR BY DAMAGES CAUSED BY THE OPERATION OF THE DEVICE IN ANY MANNER NOT IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PRINTED INSTRUCTIONS PROVIDED WITH THE DEVICE. One year limited warranty is dependent upon the return of the registration form. Detach & mail the registration within 30 days of purchase with a copy of the original receipt showing date of purchase. Registration warranty is not valid without a copy of the original receipt.
