Designed to provide the excitement of a Multistrada, but in a more accessible and versatile way, the new Multistrada 950 is the ideal choice, whether handling the daily commute, enjoying a weekend ride, or embarking on a long-distance trip. The 937 cm 3 Testastretta 11 twin ensures that the performance of the Multistrada 950 is within everyone s reach, while its reduced weight and 840 mm seat height further boost dynamic performance. 5

6 A WORLD OF EMOTIONS Ducati Multistrada 950 embodies the traditional Ducati values of Style, Sophistication and Performance and combines them with extraordinary ease of use. The 19 light alloy front wheel, suspension with 170 mm wheel travel and double-sided swingarm all contribute to maintaining a high level of riding comfort while also ensuring great agility. The new Multistrada 950 extends the concept of four bikes in one, making it even simpler and more accessible and confirming its status as a versatile bike without compromise, which guarantees both riding pleasure and absolute performance. 9 9

7 MISSION COMPACTNESS It is immediately clear that the Multistrada 950 is an authentic Multistrada, featuring the main style elements that characterise the larger versions. These include the front section, dominated by the exclusive front headlight, adjustable Plexiglas, two lateral winglets and 20-litre tank. In the same way, the rider s seat that is narrow in the crotch area, the passenger seat, the rear grab handle, design of the exhaust, swingarm and the size of the wheels all denote a strong family feeling. Then there are the newly-designed light alloy wheels, developed with the aim of making the thin spokes as similar as possible to wire spokes. As a result, the new Multistrada 950 appears compact in size, while some of the colour choices, such as the all-black engine protection shield, silencer and swingarm, lighten it from an aesthetic standpoint. 11

8 CONTROL AND COMFORT IN EVERY SITUATION The frame of the Multistrada 950 comprises a front Trellis with steel tubes that are larger in diameter but thinner, combined with two aluminium lateral subframes for maximum torsional rigidity. The 19 front wheel with light alloy rims was developed specifically for the new Multistrada 950 in order to offer lightness, manoeuvrability and be able to take on any difficult conditions. This technical choice is paired with a doublesided swingarm in shell-moulded aluminium, painted black, while the suspension, with fully adjustable 48 mm Kayaba fork and Sachs shock boasts 170 mm travel, for the easy absorption of any bumps in the road surface while maintaining the seat at an accessible height, 840 mm from the ground. The aluminium rear subframe integrates both the passenger grab handle as well as the side pannier support, in plastic or aluminium, confirming the extreme versatility of the new Multistrada

10 THE POWER OF THE TESTASTRETTA 11 The new Multistrada 950 can count on the performance of the 937 cc Testastretta 11 twin, always ready to respond thanks to substantial torque reserves at both low and medium speed. Fully respecting the Euro 4 standard, this engine can supply maximum power of 113 HP and 9.8 Kgm of torque at 7750 rpm. The twin that powers the new Multistrada 950 is also equipped with an anti-hopping clutch, which intervenes during more extreme shifting, and boasts particularly long service intervals thanks to continuous technological research by Ducati, as well as its use of increasingly advanced materials. The main Desmo Service is carried out every 30,000 Km, while the Oil Service is scheduled every 15,000 Km, values that guarantee easy maintenance of the new Multistrada 950. The power values indicated here above are measured using a chassis dynamometer. Homologated power data, as quoted in the Bike Registration Document, is measured using an engine dynamometer in accordance with the homologation regulation. The two power values may differ because of the different measuring equipment. 17

11 VERSATILITY AND ENHANCED PERFORMANCE To emphasise the versatility of the new Multistrada 950, the Testastretta 11 is equipped with new cylinder heads, with redesigned oil circuit and secondary air intake ducts. In addition, the engine breathes through new cylindricalsection throttle bodies, 53 mm in diameter, controlled by an advanced Ride-by-Wire system, while the ECU and electronic injection system have been optimised to ensure full usability and particularly generous delivery, with more than 80% of torque already available at 3,500 rpm. 19

12 INTEGRATED TECHNOLOGY The new Multistrada 950 harnesses advanced technology, making the riding experience more pleasant and complete. The dashboard is composed of a large LCD high-vis screen that includes new functions and provides useful data such as the Riding Mode set, available mileage, current consumption, and an alarm in case of icy conditions. The dash also displays information regarding operation of the Ducati Multimedia System (DMS), available as an accessory. In addition, the new Multistrada 950 counts on dedicated switches on the handlebar, with a particularly modern and compact design, and a headlight that is elegantly integrated with the shapes of the bodywork, while the rear light and front blinkers exploit LED technology. 21

13 ELECTRONICS AND CONTROL The Multistrada 950 is equipped with the DSP (Ducati Safety Pack), including Bosch 9.1MP ABS and Ducati Traction Control (DTC), that enhances performance, optimises control and heightens the level of riding safety. Bosch 9.1MP ABS ensures reduced stopping distances and can be adjusted according to three intervention levels, while Ducati Traction Control analyses the data sent by speed sensors on the wheels and acts to regulate any sliding of the rear wheel with eight different intervention levels, significantly increasing performance and, particularly, the active safety of the bike. 23

15 SAFETY AS STANDARD The continuous work that Ducati carries out in terms of design, research and development serves to ensure cuttingedge bikes characterised by maximum active safety levels. A commitment that involves the definition of increasingly advanced technological systems to increase the rider s level of control, such as the Ducati Safety Pack (DSP) that, for the Multistrada 950, includes Bosch 9.1MP ABS and Ducati Traction Control (DTC). Equipment that optimises the bike s dynamic performance in both braking and acceleration and that offers numerous levels of adjustment with three different intervention levels for the Bosch 9.1MP ABS and eight for the Ducati Traction Control (DTC). 27

16 ENDLESS EXCITEMENT In designing each bike, Ducati constantly strives to ensure maximum reliability while reducing service costs. A commitment that has seen the intervals for the main Desmo Service, in which valve clearance is checked and adjusted if necessary, to be extended to 30,000 km for the Multistrada 950. Even the simplest of checks, such as the Oil Service, are extended to 15,000 km or 12 months. A considerable interval for such high-performance engines, which only confirms the high quality standards adopted in terms of material selection and R&D processes. Ducati continuously invests in the technical training of its dealers. 19 THE 4 SOULS OF THE MULTISTRADA The Ducati Riding Modes, introduced for the first time in 2010 with the Multistrada, allow the rider to choose between different pre-set modes to optimise bike behaviour depending on individual riding style and conditions of use. The new Multistrada 950 is equipped with four Riding Modes Sport, Touring, Urban and Enduro each of which has been programmed to act on the electronic Ride by Wire (RbW) system, which varies the engine s delivery and maximum power, and on the Bosch 9.1MP ABS and Ducati Traction Control (DTC) intervention levels. Thanks to a switch on the handlebar, the new Multistrada 950 is ready to switch between 113 HP with the sporty delivery of Sport mode, to the full but progressive delivery of Touring mode, right through to the 75 HP and softer response of the Urban and Enduro modes. The Riding Modes can also be changed while riding, while Bosch 9.1MP ABS and DTC settings can be modified with respect to the standard values, allowing the new Multistrada 950 to be adapted depending on individual riding needs. 35
