9 NAC History Keller Commission endorsed establishment of a Tank Automotive Components Lab Dr. Kenneth Oscar created a NAC task force to think big, be innovative, be entrepreneurial and focus on the future Congressional joint committee spearheaded by Senator Carl Levin approved funding for National Automotive Center The NAC charter was signed by the Secretary of the Army, John W. Shannon Mr. Dennis Wend was designated as the TARDEC Vice President for Technology Transfer/NAC Director succeeding Mr. Alexander Farkas NAC lead in DUAP, DUS&T NAC Conceived 21st Century Truck Initiative announced as National Initiative.
