2 Part 1 - Scheme Outline and Procedures 1. The Archery GB Progress Awards are designed to provide beginners and younger archers with awards for developing their archery skills. The junior age groups are aligned with 5 educational key stages. The scheme can also be used as an adult beginner incentive. 2. The scheme is open to all archers and is operated by archery clubs or by schools, youth groups and similar who practice target archery. There is no requirement for the recipients to be members of GNAS, although many will be. 3. The award comprises a rectangular badge showing the Archery GB logo and the word progress on a coloured background. The background colours, indicating increasing proficiency are: white, black, blue, red and gold. 4. Qualification for the badge is by score only. The shooting requirements are: (a) Shooting may be indoors or outdoors. (b) The archer must shoot 36 arrows in ends of 6 arrows. This may be shot in one session of 36 arrows or in 2 sessions of 18 arrows each. (c) A maximum if 12 arrows warm-up is allowed per session. (d) Archers must achieve the scores shown Part 2a, b, c or d as appropriate. Note that score requirement varies according to: (i) Bowstyle: Recurve, Compound or longbow/barebow/fibreglass bow. (ii) Age group. (iii) Sex. (iv) Face size used. (v) Distance shot. 5. A badge colour can only be claimed once irrespective of age group or bowstyle. However, missed colours may be claimed when a junior archer moves up an age group. 6. There is a one-off registration fee for clubs, schools, youth groups, etc who wish to enter the scheme. An application form is at Part Badges are available at a small cost per badge from the Scheme Registrar. Those operating the scheme may purchase badges in advance, so that they can be presented as soon as the award is achieved. A badge order form is at Part 4.

3 8. At suitable intervals, clubs, schools etc should advise the Scheme Registrar of the details of awards made. A suitable form is at Part 5.
