Uniting with AAHomeCare will help ensure a presence on Capital Hill regarding legislation impacting the home healthcare industry. Our legislative team will work with AAHomecare in submitting comments to Congress regarding accreditation, competitive bidding and other bills impacting our businesses. H. D. HR. 3790, The Bill that would Repeal Competitive Bidding, stands at 242 cosponsors as of June 18th, 2010! The bill, introduced by Rep. Kendrick Meek, D-Fla., has strong bipartisan support on the house. Focus is now on the Ways and Means Committee and the Energy and Commerce Committee. These two committees have jurisdiction over Medicare-related issues. House Ways and Means Committee Chair, Sander Levin, D-Mich., and Energy and Commerce Committee Chair, Henry Waxman, D-Calif., should be urged to include HR in any legislation that will go to the House floor.
