DO NOT jam the Tool into the rebar grid, jamming the Tool between the rebar will bend the bottom jaw of the feed mechanism, causing the Tool to malfunction. 7. DO NOT drop the Tool, and DO NOT put it down on a dirty or wet surface. DO put the Tool in its holster when not tying rebar, and DO, after cleaning it, put the Tool back into its plastic case at the end of each shift. Use only clean, dry air to blow out the Tool after every use. (NB: Use 10 PSI maximum blow gun pressure). MAINTAINING THE TOOL 1. DO appoint a lead Mechanic/Operator to perform minor maintenance on the Tool. NB: Some minor maintenance requires accessing protected components. 2. DO clean the Tool once during the work day; clean it twice each day if conditions are very dirty or dusty. DO clean the Tool again at the end of the shift. To clean the Tool, use only low pressure compressed air (10 PSI maximum). 3. DO clean the Tool s Sensors daily. To clean the Sensors, use a Q-Tip dipped in rubbing alcohol. 4. DO NOT expose the Tool to high pressure compressed air (ie, use 10 PSI or less). DO NOT wash the Tool in water, or expose the Tool to moisture, eg, tying rebar in the rain (without the Tool s plastic cover). DO NOT use WD-40, degreasers, or solvents on Tool. 5. DO NOT use oil or grease in an attempt to lubricate the Tool, eg DO NOT lubricate the Feed Motor Gears. 6. DO NOT expose the Tool to form lubricant. This attracts dirt and debris, causing premature wear of the Tool.
