4 The Four Shades Concept is a project designed starting from four colors of Betontech collection: WHITE, GREY, CLAY and MUD. We worked on these four shades and created a unique, fresh and unusual concept, where the porcelain tiles meet mosaics and glass listels, where a re-interpretation of graphic decoration meets the latest ceramic technologies. 10 Betonaxis is the new chapter within The Four Shades Concept, only in White and Grey colors. A further interpretation of concrete look, this time a shuttered concrete look, with a strong graphic character lightened by colors suitable for different styles and spaces, from the most sophisticated and modern to the most vintage ones. In addition to the standard ones, the two new sizes 120x120cm and 60x120cm in the brand new Light thickness. The hexagonal size is the great closure of this project, following the trend of our well-known Betonepoque & Betonsquare collection, pure #terratintastyle. Modern look vs vintage look: it goes without saying. 10

35 STRONG: 7,3mm thick with an average breaking strength of newton, twice as much as the standards requirements. LIGHT: the reduced weight of 17,50kg/sqm gives Light huge advantages in terms of transport and handling. SELF-LEVELLING: the special mix of raw materials used in Light gives elasticity to the product itself, as a result of this Light ensures excellent installation results in any kind of applications. GREEN: Light is made using high percentage of recycled raw meterials and is certified as a product made with at least 40% pre consumer recycled content. 35

With the four colours of The Four Shades Concept and with Betonepoque patterns brought in a smaller size, this is a project suitable for any residential or commercial area, Terratinta style at its fullest. 122 Betonsquare MOSAICS advantages A porcelain stoneware fullbody Mosaic of only 4 mm thickness: high technical performances and refined aesthetic research in the four colours of The Four Shades Concept! wear resistant breakage resistant frost resistant suitable for both floors and walls, even high traffic ones Chips combined together in 31,6x31,6 cm sheets through the application of glue dot : practical easy to handle resistant suitable for wet areas easy to lay down, even onto curved surfaces Terratinta Betonsquare Mosaics guarantee high standards in safeguarding and respecting the environment. The production system and management choices adopted allow us to keep consumption of natural resources and pollution down to a minimum. The manufacturing of the atomized paste (base) and powdered enamels (colour), is done by dry pressing without the use of water, creating a more durable quality product and avoiding the production of waste water discharge. The firing is done using a modern electric oven, powered by green energy produced from renewable sources (wind turbines and solar power), avoiding the use of fossil fuels and atmospheric emissions. All scrap and waste are collected separately and sent for recycling. 122

The slabs are vertically positioned: this solution properly protects the slabs during the transport and makes material inspections and pickings much easier. The rack pallet packaging system uses strappings on each single box, allowing the possibility to remove one box at a time without affecting the stability of the pallet. The overall rack pallet size is smaller than a standard crate: this means more free space in the installation area and greater ease in lifting the slabs with cranes or with goods lifts. 154 LEED Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC)is the most important American association of industries in the building sector aimed at promoting methods of design and construction that lead to a significant reduction or elimination of the negative impact that buildings have on the environment. To enable concrete quantification and correct monitoring of the degree of sustainability achieved by a building project, in 1999 the USGBC established a certification procedure called LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design). The LEED credits certify the eco-sustainable requisites of projects which can function in a sustainable and autonomous way in terms of energy and which have a low-environmental impact throughout their life-cycle. The LEED system is based on the award of points for every single eco-sustainable requisite of a project, divided into several major areas: -sustainable construction sites -protection of water resources -energy efficiency and use of renewable sources -storage, composition, and origin of construction materials and raw materials -indoor environmental quality -innovation in design.
