6 General Approval and standards Approval and standards The Alfalift does not only meet all requirements related to security of platforms but also all regulations concerning hazardous environments. The platforms are CE-approved by an European notified body and are originally designed for use in explosion risk environment (ATEX Zone 2 Cat. 3G or 3D). Each platform is engineered with the applicable safety legislation, including several safety measurements. 8 Pneumatic platforms HX3 & HX3B HX4 HX5 Several types of pneumatic platforms, each with their own advantages. Alfalift pneumatic platforms HX are pneumatically operated access platforms. They are ideal for hazardous environments. These units are manufactured in a standard or customised design. The control is 3D and improves the safety and efficiency during many applications where easy height access is required. The installation is simple and little maintenance is needed. These devices will increase profitability, operator s well-beiing, productivity and is one cost-effective solution to many tasks. Each Alfalift HX comes with a compressed air connection. Pneumatic platforms can be fully utilised in painting booths. If mounted on side-walls, it can increase access for the entire workspace and ultimately leave the floor free from obstacles. The selection of the right type of platform is done together with the customer based on the specifications of the booth and object to be treated. HX3 is a 3D fully pneumatic platform. Pneumatic cylinders and chains make the vertical and horizontal movements possible and a pneumatic motor navigates the platform for all lateral movements. The platform can carry one person and his equipment. HX4 Alfalift is a 3D platform that is designed to carry two persons and their equipment. It can be used in painting booths and preparation booths. The platform is made with two doors on both sides that close automatically with the help of spring hinges. The HX4 can be custom-made depending on the customers wishes. HX3B Alfalift is one of the newest innovation in pneumatic platforms. The lift is specially made for sandblasting booths because of its protective features. HX5 is a pneumatic platform that is similar to the HX3. This platform is specially built for paint booth structures who aren t strong enough to hold platforms. The HX5 drives fully on the ground and doesn t come in contact with the wall. 8

Transfer efficiency is increased and overspray in painting booths is reduced. 10 Technical features HX Controls The cage is equipped with 3 handles for simple use: Up and down. Moving in and out. Lateral movement left/right. The handles return automatically in their neutral position. They are situated at the front of the platform. Movements The mast The mast of the Alfalift HX is made out of a rigid construction for the vertical guiding of the platform. Power Supply The platforms are totally pneumatic powered by using hose reels, cable chains or cable trolleys. The platform consumes not more than a standard paint gun. Pneumatical cylinders make vertical and horizontal movements possible. A pneumatic motor navigates the platform for all lateral movements. 13 Hydraulic & Electrical platforms HDS & HES HDR & HER HD The Alfalift HD and HE are able to reach much higher than the HX. Alfalift Hydraulic and HE Electrical platforms provide a safe and worry-free work environment where the operator is the primary concern. These elevating platforms are designed for use in painting booths, but can also be put in other hazardous areas. They reach much higher and further than the Alfalift HX and are deployable in industries where larger items have to be easily reached. The cage has a door on both sides and, if required, equipped with a door in front to exit the cage at height. HDS & HES scissor lift is able to carry up to two persons and their equipment. The platforms go higher while remaining stable compared to the Alfalift HX. HDR & HER swiveling arm is a mounted lifting platform that is moveable on rails and equipped with hydraulic or electrical traction. The swiveling arm can be operated manually or automatically. 13

14 Technical features HD & HE Controls The controls are situated at the rear of the platform, on the side of the mast. The platform can be equipped with pedals to move vertically and horizontally. The cage is equipped with buttons for simple use: Up and down. Moving in and out. Lateral movement left/right. The mast The mast is made out of a rigid structure for the vertical guiding of the platform. An emergency button is installed on both sides of the mast. Power Supply The hydraulic & electrical unit is placed outside (not ATEX). Movements An electric motor makes lateral movement possible. This motor powers the drivewheel on floor height. If required the motor is ATEX executed. Alfalift HD & HE platforms go higher and further, while remaining stable in expolosive areas. 14
