4 Summary of testing: 1. All the models submitted were similar in design and construction using the same components except that models E84T25N, E84T25N SA, E84T25N SW, E84T25N SZ were fitted with neon lamps. 2. Type test was conducted on model E84T25 to represent the rest of the models unless otherwise stated. 3. The switched socket-outlets submitted are deemed to comply with : roduct information:- age 4 of 41

5 5 General conditions for type testing (apply to all test sequence) 5.1 All tests shall be type test Noted Socket-outlets shall be tested as delivered Noted Socket-outlets shall be tested at an ambient temperature of 27 o C ± 5 o C and after being conditioned at normal laboratory temperature and humidity levels for at least 4 days Unless otherwise stated by the manufacturer flushmounted socket-outlets shall be tested when mounted in a box complying with BS 4662 the fixing screws being tightened with a torque of 0.6 Nm ± 10%. Other types shall be mounted according to the manufacturer s instructions. Socket-outlets used for the tests shall be representative of normal production items in respect of all details which may affect the test results Non-rewirable socket-outlet shall be supplied with an appropriate flexible cord which shall be at least 1 m long Socket-outlets shall be deemed to comply if no specimen fails in the complete series of tests given in Table 1. If one specimen fail in the complete series of tests given in Table 1, then socket-outlets of that type shall be deemed to have failed to comply with this part of SS 145, unless the socket-outlets shall be shown to be not representative of normal production or design, in which case a further type test sample shall be submitted to the test or tests in that particular group. If there is no failure in this re-test then socket-outlets of that type shall be deemed to comply with this part of SS 145. If more than 1 specimen fails in the complete series of test given in Table 1 then socket-outlets of that type shall be deemed not to comply with this part of SS 145.
