5 Solar Lighting Components Solar Panel Eco Solar Lighting's high efficiency solar modules are constructed from 36 or 72 crystalline cells that are connected in series to raise system voltage to 12V or 24V. The cells are individually tested and matched for optimum performance before being incased into the protective module structure. High transmission tempered glass protects the cells from the front and high strength polymer sheet at the rear. A reinforced aluminium frame completes the laminate structure which is fully sealed against moisture and protected from environmental and mechanical damage. High Powered LED Lighting Eco Solar Lighting's manufactures LED lights with high efficiency CREE or Bridgelux >140lmW LED chips. Eutectic LED packaging technology is applied for low heat resistance, low light degradation, high efficiency and durability. Batteries Solar systems are the most demanding application for the battery and the correct choice of battery is fundamental to the integrity of the entire system. Batteries are subjected to high and low temperatures, unpredictable charging, daily cycling as well as potentially partial states of discharges. Therefore it is of upmost importance to correctly chose the right battery for the right application in order to maximise battery life. Controllers Eco Solar Lighting s solar controllers monitor and control the power going into and coming out of the battery. The controller must also ensure that the connected loads do not over-discharge the battery, thereby damaging it. The controller also manages the systems operation time. In certain models the controller enables change in illumination levels throughout the course of the night. The controller can enable the light to be at its brightest level during peak times of pedestrian activity, and then dimmed to accommodate times of reduced usage, thereby allowing maximum efficiency. 4

15 Relocatable Lighting Solutions PORTABLE POLE DESIGN Poles are hot dip galvanised with a powdercoat paint finish. Height and outreach can be custom made to suit your application. The portable base is made from a galvanised steel box which is filled with concrete. The battery/ies and controler are located in a galvanised steel enclosure inside the steel box. Access to these components is via a vandal resistant galvanised steel lid. These solar lighting systems, as our whole range are designed specifically to withstand Australiaís most extreme conditions. The base of the potable box includes fork lift sleves and lifting lugs on each corner for easy relocation. POWER SYSTEM Our solar lighting systems are designed to run reliably throughout winter and through stretches of poor weather, delivering continuing performance year after year. The solar modules carry a full 25 year warranty and only high quality, maintenance-free gel deep-cycle batteries or Lithium Ion batteries are used to ensure long service life and maximum performance. The new lithium battery models boast very long lifespans - up to 4 times that of lead acid batteries. 16 Relocatable Lighting Solutions SYSTEM OPERATION The solar lighting system automatically turns on when it becomes dark. At sunrise, or after an adjustable number of hours, the light turns off and the solar panels recharge the batteries. A robust Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) solar regulator extracts the optimum performance from the solar panels and ensures that the batteries are charged correctly, promoting long battery life. 17 Solar Shelter Light How does it function? The solar panel mounts flat on the roof, and the light source is from a small dome, which is approximately the size of a road or car park delineator. The lighting device is constructed from resin with a small cluster of encased LED lights, glued to the roof. The quantity of lights, battery capacity and solar panel size, can all be increased as necessary to satisfy the suitable lighting requirements of the shelter.
