Nominated installation contractors Compass Electrics chose Tamlex of Telford for their steel cable management supplies. As a UK family owned and local manufacturer, Tamlex were able to quickly carry out a site visit and discuss with the client and the installer exactly what was required including advice for any special areas that needed suitable solutions. Wire basket tray from Tamlex was used throughout for all overhead cable containment. Available in three metre lengths and widths ranging from 50 to 600mm the 4.00mm wire tray is sufficiently lightweight to fabricate bends on-site but suitably strong offering an ultimate tensile strength of 70kg/mm2. The main switch board fitted with a 1600 amp 3 pole air circuit breaker incorporates Type 1 & 2 surge arrestor giving protection against the effects of lightning strikes (Type 1) and man-made (Type 2). A 400 amp ATS (automatic transfer switch) is connected to a remote generator in the event of a mains supply failure. The ATS panel also supplies three standalone UPS (uninterrupted power supplies) to supply the data centre essential loads.
