1 PRODUCT DISCONTINUATION NOTICE 3M NiMH Battery Pack BP-15, 3M RBE-NM10, with NiMH Battery 3M FR-57N10, with NiMH Battery & PRODUCT REPLACEMENT NOTICE May 30, 2018 Dear Valued Customer: As battery technology improves and suppliers continue to shift away from older technologies, 3M has decided to migrate to Lithium Ion batteries for use with certain powered air purifying respirator (PAPR) systems and away from nickel metal hydride (NiMH). This notice is to inform you of the discontinuation of the 3M NiMH Battery Pack BP-15 product (see Table 1) used with certain configurations of the 3M Breathe Easy and 3M GVP-Series Belt-Mounted PAPR Systems. The BP-15 battery is discontinued immediately but will remain available while supplies last. Other GVP and Breathe Easy system components will continue to remain available. Please read this announcement in its entirety as it identifies new battery upgrade kits that are now available. Over the past five years we have introduced to our industrial customers a new range of Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR) headtops, breathing tubes and motor/blower assemblies under the 3M Versaflo Respirator Systems brand. We are pleased to offer these systems as a solution for upgrading your overall PAPR program while transitioning away from the GVP and certain Breathe Easy PAPR systems. We believe that these newer products provide enhanced performance and comfort when compared to the products they are intended to replace. These newer products include the 3M Versaflo TR-600 PAPR which can be considered for non-intrinsically safe environments and is a compact, lightweight, easy-to-use PAPR for protection against certain particulates, vapors and gases (Table 2 and 3). Certain GVP customers unable to change to a Versaflo Respiratory System can consider the recently commercialized Battery Adapter TR-659, contained within the GVP-614-SK assembly or GVP-600 battery upgrade kit (table 5). Originally developed for customers in environments like aluminum smelting, the TR-659 battery adapter, when combined with the 3M Versaflo Standard Battery TR-630 (lithium ion) and holster, can serve as a replacement power source for certain GVP PAPR configurations *. The items within the kit may also be purchased separately. For hospital and healthcare customers needing CBRN and First Receiver configurations, the Breathe Easy PAPR system remains available but with some changes. Due to the BP-15 discontinuation, both the FR-57N10 and the RBE-NM10 are being discontinued. For the FR-57N10, contact your sales representative for an a la

2 carte configuration while the RBE-NM10 replacement is the new RBE-10BR (Table 4) which features the rechargeable 3M Versaflo Standard Battery TR-630 (lithium ion). The RBE-L10 (featuring the R01 non-rechargeable lithium battery) remains unchanged and commercially available. Previously purchased RBE-NM10 systems can also be powered by the Versaflo TR-630 battery through the new RBE- 600 battery upgrade kit.
