1 Creating Saved Searches to Monitor New Regulations This document provides a quick overview of the Saved Search functionality in IHS Standards Expert plus AV-DATA. The Table of Contents feature previously available in AV-DATA, is no longer supported in IHS Standards Expert plus AV-DATA. The Saved Search feature in the new IHS Standards Expert plus AV-DATA is a simple, one-click tool providing quick access to your favorite, most widely used documents. Why the change? The AV DATA Table of Contents was based on technologies that are over a decade old and were not in any hierarchal order. In addition, when AV DATA was originally created, IHS document nomenclature was not the same nomenclature that regulatory agencies used when publishing their documents. Therefore, IHS elected to index aviation regulatory agency documents with the same nomenclature as the publishing agency. IHS usage analysis also indicated fewer than 4% of AV DATA users accessed the Table of Contents. Due to these issues, the AV DATA Table of Contents was not replicated for IHS Standards Expert plus AV DATA. With the new IHS Standards Expert plus AV-DATA, a powerful tool called Saved Search allows you to search your favorite, most widely used documents with a single click. Saved Search results are automatically updated to provide any new regulations that are available from a specific regulatory agency. You can also set up multiple saved searches to meet all of your regulatory requirements. Creating a Saved Search Document Number/Organization and Filters 1. In the Document Number or Organization Field, enter: EASA AD 2. Under Filter by, check the box for AV-DATA Only 3. Under Advanced Filters, click on More Filters

For the Posted Date filter, set the range by clicking 7 Days OR Click more... located with Posted Date under the Advanced Filters panel, and then on the Advanced Filter Posted Date Range dialog box, set Search Since to 7 Days from the dropdown menu. 5. Click Submit

3 Creating a Saved Search (continued) 6. Set Sort By: to Date Descending 7. Search Results display all EASA ADs (18) posted by IHS within the last 7 days. Now, let s save this search

4 Creating a Saved Search - Saving a Search 8. Under the Saved Searches panel, click Save Search OR Use the Save Search button above the search results list You also have the additional option of saving a search using the Save Search button above the search results list:

5 Creating a Saved Search - Saving a Search 9. Enter a name for the Saved Search. 10. Click Submit. 11. Once saved, select the named Saved Search from the dropdown menu under Saved Searches the next time you want to run this search! Once saved, select the named Saved Search.
