Whether it involves fire, earthquakes or rampages there are situations in which you simply must get out of the building! As quickly as possible. It is specifically at the outbreak of panic that the emergency exit and anti-panic solutions for doors and exits must work and can even be intuitively operated by persons in the midst of flight. Winkhaus offers an extensive range of products specifically for these emergencies which can save lives in the worst case scenario. Keep the path clear Therefore, be sure to inform your customers in detail about the installation and marking of emergency doors according to regulations. After all, the best safety precautions are worthless if they are blocked, not marked or even locked from inside in the event of an emergency. 6 6 Emergency exit and anti-panic solutions PRODUCT CATALOGUE 01/2018 paniclock General description paniclock anti-panic multi-point locking system for doors in escape and rescue routes General information In April 2008, two European standards were updated in Germany which regulated the use of locking devices for doors on escape and rescue routes. The standards EN 179 and EN 1125 were adopted as European standards. According to the regulations of the European Construction Product Regulation and the prescribed CE provisions, these standards correspond to the state of the art and are to be applied accordingly. Emergency exit locks in accordance with EN 179 Emergency exit locks in accordance with EN 179 are prescribed for buildings where there is no public right of way and where visitors are familiarwith the functions of the escape doors..(figure 1) Figure 1 Emergency exit locks consist of a lock and a fitting. These should ensure that in a hazard situation, the emergency exit door can be released and opened with just a single operation, regardless of whether the door is locked or whether just the latch is on. An emergency exit lock must permit door opening from the inside with one manual actuation within one second: by pressing the handle down (see illustration) by pressing the stop plate in the direction of escape. (figure 2) Winkhaus offers an extensive range of products tested in accordance with the provisions of EN 179 (upon request). Figure 2 Panic door locks in accordance with EN 1125 Panic door locks to EN 1125 (= lock + keep + handle) are to be applied in accordance with the standard anywhere a lot of public access is expected and where panic situations could arise due to public unfamiliarity with the layout. Opening of the door against the direction of escape is only possible after unlocking and only using the key. Emergency opening (in the direction of escape) Open the door from inside with the handle. Opening from outside is only possible after turning the key until the unlock stop position (incl. latch retractor). Opening Function from inside: Turn the key until the unlock stop position or actuate latch by means of the handle: Passage possible. Function from outside: Turn the key to the unlock stop so that the lock is completely unlocked and the lock is completely unlocked and the latch return also opens. Locking (both directions) Lock the door with the key. Turn the key until the lock stop in order to completely lock the lock. This puts the lock into home position.

After actuation of the fittings from inside, the door can also be opened from outside with the handle, e.g. for emergency rescue services and/or reverse escape opposite the direction of escape. The door must be re-locked with the key in order to prevent it from being opened from outside. Emergency opening (in the direction of escape) Open the door using the handle. Then the door can be opened from outside and inside using the handle (e.g. for assistance and emergency rescue services). Opening (of the locked door with key) Function from inside: Turn the key until the unlock stop, then actuate the handle for the latch retractor. Please note: The door can be passed through from both sides! Function from outside: Unlock with key and actuate the handle. Please note: The door can be passed through from both sides! Locking (both directions) Lock the door with the key. Turn the key until the lock stop in order to completely lock the system. This puts the lock into home position. Important!
