SUPERSESSION CHART FOR UNITS AND PARTS It will be appreciated that many of the older units and components are no longer available, and endeavour is made to replace them with more modern and improved types. It should, perhaps, emphasised that the components selected will always satisfactorily replace those originally fitted.

2 INTERCHANGEABITY OF UNITS Prior to the introduction of the five-figure numbering system all units bore an individual six-figure number, which gave no indication of possible interchangeability. The five-figure system, with its use of suffix letters, clearly shows that all units bearing the same basic number are interchangeable as a complete unit; e.g. Distributor 40283A, 40283B, 40283D, etc., whilst having internal modifications, are interchangeable as complete units. CONDITIONS OF SALE Any LUCAS article, whether bought direct from us or from a dealer, is supplied upon condition that it shall not be resold TO THE TRADE below the LOWEST FIXED WHOLESALE SELNG PRICE, or to any person other than a bona-fide dealer below the LOWEST FIXED RETAIL SELNG PRICE ofit appearing in our printed List of Lowest Fixed Prices for the season current at the time of the resale; that any such resale shall be subject to these Conditions; and that if any such resale be made below the proper Lowest Fixed Selling Price-the dealer so reselling it will be liable to pay us the sum of FIVE POUNDS as liquidated damages. TELEGRAPHIC CODES It is usually necess.ary to telegraph only in cases of urgency. To save time and expense, we suggest that the following codes be used: LABAR Send by Post. MAC Send by Goods Train. USE OF PATTERNS When parts are sent to us as patterns they should be carefully labelled, indicating the name and address of the sender, together with reference or order number, which will enable us to deal with the matter properly. In all cases an indication should be given of the unit from which the part has been removed. UNITS FOR REPAIR articles for repair must be sent "CARRIAGE PAID" or will not be accepted. A label bearing name and address of sender must be attached to each article. B90 FACTORY EXCHANGE SERVICE Under the LUCAS B90 Factory Exchange Service Scheme, certain units may be exchanged for a factory repaired unit incorporating the latest design and material at a reasonable fixed price. Full details and prices may be found in catalogue X120. GUARANTEE usual and reasonable precautions have been taken by us to ensure excellence of materials and workmanship, and in the event of any defect in any Lucas product which is not caused by fair wear and tear, misuse, accident or negligence, being disclosed within twelve months of its being put into use, we will either supply new parts or components in exchange for those defective, or repair such defective parts or components free of charge. We do not undertake to dismantle or reassemble, or bear the cost of dismantling or reassembling any such part or component on the vehicle or chassis. This undertaking shall be deemed to exclude any and every other obligation whatsoever, and all liability for any loss or damage howsoever and whensoever caused or arising, except the cost of replacement or repair in accordance with this undertaking.
