It bears the portrait of our first president, George Washington. George Washington was one of the originators of the Constitutional convention in 1787 and from that came the US Constitution and his election as our first President in Commemorative Button Great Northern Road Numbers GN / These 40 drop-bottom gondolas are painted mineral red with white Great Northern logo and lettering. They were built in July 1937, serviced in 1948, and run on Bettendorf trucks. This early paint scheme using gothic sans serif lettering was applied to new freight cars until 1956, and rebuilt cars through the 1970s; in 1956 the slant serif lettering was used on new cars. NEW PULPWOOD LOADS CASCO Road Number CGTX # $19.45 # $19.45 This 56 general service tank car is painted black with large white and red CASCO logo and white lettering. It was built in May 1984 and runs on Barber Roller Bearing trucks. Owned by GATX Rail Canada, a Canadian affiliate of General Tank Car Co., CGTX was one of a 25-car series leased by Casco for transporting corn syrup. Casco Inc. is one of Canada s principal producers and suppliers of high-quality food ingredients and industrial products. Kansas City Southern Road Number KCS 400 Accepting Orders for September Releases Beginning August 29th All Prices U.S. Dollars September 2008 # $23.95 This 50 standard box car with single door is painted black with white lettering and red and yellow bands. It was built in October 1941 by Pullman-Standard, serviced in March 1948, and runs on Allied Full Cushion trucks. Originally numbered into series , KCS 400 is one of four cars converted into express box cars by KCS in These cars were equipped with special racks for loading Chevrolet front axels. Chesapeake & Ohio Road Number C&O # $28.25 This 50 standard box car with single door wears two of the experimental paint schemes, each side painted C&O dark blue with 3 and 31 yellow bands each on a different side along the bottom. The left side bears the Chessie kitten emblem; the right side carries the C&O logo. The car is lettered in blue on yellow and yellow on blue. This car, sixth of six in the Cameo Car Series, was built in May 1956 by Pullman Standard and runs on Roller Bearing trucks. All of the Cameo Series car designs feature varying widths of Yellow striping along with monograms and the recently adopted Futura Demi-Bold font. 2 MONON Road Number MON New York Central Road Number NYC This black 33 twin bay hopper with offset sides displays large yellow MONON letters, The Hoosier Line logo and stenciling. This hopper was built in October 1940, serviced in August of 1957, and runs on black Bettendorf trucks. The Monon Railroad (AAR reporting marks CIL, MON), also known as the Chicago, Indianapolis & Louisville Railway from , operated almost entirely within the state of Indiana. The Monon was merged into the Louisville and Nashville Railroad in 1971, and much of the former Monon right of way is operated today by CSX Transportation. WITH COAL LOAD This 50 standard box car with double doors is painted Century Green with black ends and roof. The side bears the New York Central cigar band logo in black and white with red New York letters. Lettering is in white. It bears the Mockingbird and Bluebonnet, Texas official state bird and flower. The flag of the State of Texas is in the background. The road number 1845 represents the year The Lone Star State was admitted into the union. Illinois Central Gulf Road Number 2501 / 2505 These GP-35 A-unit locomotives are painted orange and white with black and white logo, black Illinois Central Gulf letters and black lettering. They were built as part of EMD order number 7670 for the Gulf, Mobile & Ohio railroad in On August 10, 1972, the Gulf, Mobile and Ohio Railroad was merged into the Illinois Central Railroad, forming the 9600-mile north/south Illinois Central Gulf Railroad. Built in May of 1957 by Mt. Vernon Car Manufacturing Company, they run on black Bettendorf trucks. The well known Ball and Bell emblem of the C&NW first appeared in During the 1940s it initiated the famous 400 s, named so because in 1935, C&NW had an advertisement that said: From Chicago to Twin Cities (Minneapolis, St. Paul), Not more than 400 miles, Not more than 400 Minutes!!!, make the 400 a well-known C&NW trademark. Denver & Rio Grande Western Road Numbers D&RGW / These box car red 40 flat cars with white RIO GRANDE speed lettering and white stenciling were built by American Car & Foundry in March They run on black Bettendorf trucks. With a capacity of 100,000, and load limit of 115,800 they are typical examples of general purpose flat cars with simple decks and minimal amount of load securing equipment.
