Box Montgomery, AL Telephone Fax Scrap Tire Program Alabama Permitted Scrap Tire Transporters Notice Concerning Use of Permitted Scrap Tire Transporters for Scrap Tire Shipments It is the responsibility of the person or facility offering scrap tires for transportation (originating the shipment) to ensure the transporter used is currently permitted and legally allowed to transport scrap tires. Scrap tire transporter permits are valid for and must be renewed every three years. Therefore, persons or facilities offering scrap tires for transportation should verify that the transporter is properly and currently permitted to accept the shipment. All transporters should be able to provide a copy of their current and valid permit upon request to anyone offering scrap tires for transportation. An approved manifest also must be completed by all parties for every scrap tire shipment. This list reflects changes that have occurred within the last 30 days.
