7 Steering Modes and Column Brake The Steering Mode can be changed from Crab to Conventional steering by pushing on either Selector. The Column can held at any height by using the Column Friction Brake. The LenCin Column Lift can be locked in the down position for shipping. This position is also useful when mounting the camera. Warning! Always check the Nitrogen Pressure Gauge before disassembling the Column Lift from the LenCin Mini Chassis to avoid possible injury or damage to the equipment. 8 Balancing the Payload The Nitrogen Schrader Valve is used to add sufficient pressure to balance the payload. Before adjusting the Nitrogen Charge, all weights should be moved from the Steering Ring Weight Trays to the Storage Weight Trays on the base. After adding or subtracting Nitrogen, weights can be placed in the Steering Ring Weight Tray to fine balance the Payload with the Nitrogen Charge. The unused Weights can be stored in the Trays on the Base of the Lencin Mini. In a working situation, the Column s payload can be fine balanced to the Nitrogen Charge by adding weights to the Steering Ring Weight Tray. Use a Qualified Operator. 9 Cable Guards The Cable Guards can be adjusted by pulling up or down until the desired height is achieved. The Cable Guards can be easily removed to gain access to the wheels. To remove a Cable Guard, use a 5 /8 Allen Wrench to remove the four screws that secure it to the Base. 8 Use a Qualified Operator. For Assistance Please call our 24 hour Customer Service at

10 Aligning the Wheels The LenCin Mini Wheel Alignment may be adjusted by first observing the Alignment Marks on the front two wheel caps. Only the #2 & #3 Wheels should be adjusted. The #1 wheel is closest to the Shifting Selectors. 1. Shift the steering into Crab Mode. 2. Turn the Steering until the Steering Ring Indicator points toward the #1 Wheel. The Wheel should now be pointing straight back. 3. Look at the Alignment Marks on the front wheels. If the marks on any wheel do not line up correctly, an adjustment should be made. 4. Shift the Steering half way between Crab and Conventional modes. You will feel the Steering lock into place. 5. Loosen the Alignment Bolt on the unaligned wheel with the 1 /4 Allen Wrench provided in the Tool Case. 6. Remove the Cable Guards to get access to the wheel 6. Grab the wheel, and move it to match up the Alignment Marks. 7. Tighten the Wheel Alignment Bolt. When all Wheels are aligned correctly, they will be parallel with each other. 11 Accessories Finger tighten screws to attach the Battery Plate. Mitchell Adapter (3 or 6 ) Attach the screws from beneath the steering ring. Use a 1 /4 Allen Wrench to attach the optional Cable Dragger. 12 Removing the Column from the Base Warning! Always check the Nitrogen Pressure Gauge before disassembling the Column Lift from the LenCin Mini Chassis to avoid possible injury or damage to the equipment. There should always be a minimum charge of 85 PSI. Remove the Telescoping Steering Column Tube by loosening the Socket Head Screw, turning the Locking Collar and detaching it from the Steering Ring. Note: When operating the LenCin, make sure the Steering Column Socket Head Screw is tight at the Locking Collar The Steering Ring needs to be removed next. 13 Removing the Column from the Base Use a bar in between the pins to unscrew the Steering Ring from the Column. Remove the Steering Ring. Remove the Column Lock with a 1 /2 wrench. 14 Removing the Column from the Base Remove the six screws that hold the plastic cover in place with a 3 /16 Allen Wrench. Remove the plastic cover from the Chassis. Unscrew the five Column Lockdown Cams with a 7 /32 Allen Wrench. Turn each Cam until it clears the edge of the Lift Column. This will facilitate proper clearance for removal. 15 Removing the Column from the Base Reattach the Steering Ring to the Column, making sure it is securely in place. Reattach the Column Lock and tighten securely with a 1 /2 wrench. 16 Removing the Column from the Base Lift the Column straight upward from the LenCin Mini Base. The Lift Column can be used independently of the LenCin Mini. In tight situations such as between theater seats, the LenCin Lift Column is ideal. Three adjustable Leveling Bolts on the bottom of the tank can be used to level the Column when used separately from the Chassis. Star Plate (Using the Column without the Base) Anchor Tabs can also be fitted to the Star Plate, enabling the Column to be secured to the floor. Use a Qualified Operator. 17 LenCin Mini Tool Case NOTE: Keeping the column clean ensures smooth precise movements while filming. Wipe down the column with a soft cotton cloth and isopropyl alcohol.
