2 GUARANTEE OF QUALITY SpanTech LLC has carefully designed, manufactured, inspected and individually tested all Designer System conveyors and/or components prior to delivery or shipment. In the unlikely event you find a defect in materials or workmanship within one (1) year after receipt of product, we will promptly repair or replace the product(s), in accordance with our Limited Warranty below. Our liability is limited to replacement of the product and this warranty does not apply to altered or misapplied products. Limited Warranty SpanTech LLC warrants to the initial purchaser that all Designer System products will be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of one (1) year after receipt. Any claims made under this warranty are subject to inspection by Span Tech LLC or by a certified representative upon receipt of defective product(s) returned to SpanTech LLC freight prepaid. Upon satisfactory proof-of-claim, SpanTech LLC obligation under this warranty is limited to making suitable repairs or corrections, or at its option, replace the defective parts free of charge F.O.B., destination. The provisions of this warranty shall not apply to any Designer System product that has been subjected to misuse, improper applications (environmental effects), improper installation or operation, or any product which has been altered or repaired without prior written consent of SpanTech LLC. THIS WARRANTY IS IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. In no event shall SpanTech LLC assume liability or responsibility, either directly or by way of contribution or indemnity on any claim of any kind, whether in contract, tort or otherwise, for direct, special, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from the manufacture, sale, delivery, or use of any product sold hereunder, in excess of the cost of replacement or repair as provided herein. SpanTech LLC makes no other warranty, expressed or implied, except as set forth above. IMPORTANT NOTE: Any product purchased from SpanTech LLC that is not a Designer System product will be warranted by the standard manufacturer's warranty. This warranty is usually void if the product has been altered or repaired by someone other than an authorized representative for the manufacturer of that particular product Span Tech

3 Safety Guidelines and Information THINK THE SAFE WAY IS THE BEST WAY Read and follow all operating and product safety instructions. Read and observe all safety labels and warnings; immediately replace any soiled, defaced, or missing labels. Use proper LOCKOUT and TAGOUT procedures, following OSHA regulations, to remove or neutralize all energy sources (electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, gravity, and other) prior to performing any conveyor system maintenance. Only use parts supplied or authorized by SpanTech. Only authorized and trained personnel may perform maintenance on a conveyor or associated equipment. Only authorized and trained personnel may perform maintenance on an electrical control panel. Never climb or walk on any part of the conveyor system. All personnel working in the vicinity of a conveyor shall be instructed as to the locations and operation of normal and emergency stopping devices. Restart the conveyor system at the device or location from which it was stopped. Do not start conveyor or associated automation until all personnel are clear. Do not place articles or extremities into conveyor/transfer chain or frame while in operation. Failure to comply could result in personal injury and/or damage to the conveyor. Keep clear of conveyors and transfers. Conveyors and/or transfers may start at any time. Secure any loose clothing or hair; remove all jewelry, finger rings, pocket key rings, etc. Failure to comply could cause personal injury and/or damage to the conveyor. Training of personnel shall include instruction in operation under normal conditions and emergency situations. Do not remove any guards or safety devices; all guards and safety devices shall be maintained in position and in safe repair. Keep extremities away from shear points and conveyor chain. Failure to comply could result in serious injury. Do not use the transfer or any conveyor components in a prohibitive environment. 29 Basic Maintenance Consistent preventative maintenance is a necessary safety practice. When performed regularly, preventative maintenance helps prevent damage to the conveyor and associated devices, and prevent injury to personnel. Only trained and qualified personnel who are aware of safety hazards should perform maintenance procedures. Failure to comply could result in personal injury and/or damage to equipment. MicroSpan Transfer Preventative Maintenance Schedule Item M icrospan chain Nose bar Sprockets Action Inspect tension of MicroSpa n chain. If the adjustment range of the tensioner is no longer sufficient to correct the chain tension (tensioner stroke "bottoms out"), it may be necessary to remove two (2) chain links, then use the tensioner to set the chain tension.
