3 Dodge/Chrysler Cold Air Kit Installation Manual for the L & 6.1L Dodge Charger, Challenger, Magnum, and Chrysler 300C Intake We here at Techco would like to thank you for your purchase of the Dodge/Chrysler Cold Air Kit for the Dodge Charger, Challenger, Magnum, and Chrysler 300C with a 5.7L or 6.1L Engine. A lot of passion goes into each one of our products and we appreciate your business and hope you thoroughly enjoy your purchase. For your benefit please read this manual completely through before you start any work in order to familiarize yourself with the installation process of your Cold Air Kit. Once you have read the installation manual please proceed to follow these step by step instructions for a fully functional product. Most of the questions that may come up should be answered in this manual; however, more questions may arise so please do not hesitate to call Techco at (714) and speak with one of our experienced technical support staff. We want you to enjoy our products; so, we have trouble, with you having trouble. NOTE: Please retain all hardware removed from the vehicle tear down process. Much of it will be reused during the installation phase of your new Techco product. Please use caution during the installation of your product and please remember to use caution during the lifting and lowering of your vehicle as well as when your vehicle is in the air. If the vehicle is not properly placed on jack stands or on a lift serious injuries can occur. If for any reason you are unsure of what you are doing, stop and refer to this installation manual, call your local service center or the Techco facility directly. 5 1. On vehicles equipped with a 5.7L Engine; remove the Engine Cover. (See Photo 1) 2. Unlock the Red connector locking clip and disconnect the Connector from the Inlet Air Temperature (IAT) Sensor. (See Photo 2) 3. Remove the Breather Line from the back of the existing airbox and intake manifold. (See Photo 2) 4. Remove the Airbox Mounting Bolt. (See Photo 2) 5. Loosen the Hose Clamp attaching the existing inlet tube to the throttle body and remove the air intake assembly from the vehicle. (See Photo 2) 6. Remove the IAT Sensor from the inlet tube. (See Photo 3) 7. Install the IAT Sensor in the Rubber 90 Reducing Elbow (See Photo 4) 8. Install the Small Rubber Edge Trim on two sections of bottom of the Air Filter Shroud. (See Photo 5) Note: Super Glue may be required in some areas to ensure the trim remains attached to the shroud. 9. Install the Large Rubber Edge Trim on the top edge of the Air Filter Shroud. (See Photo 5) 10. Install the O Ring in the outer groove cut into the mounting face of the Inlet Tube Adapter. (See Photo 6) 11. Using the supplied M6 Bolts and Washers mount the Inlet Tube Adapter and Venturi to the Air Filter Shroud. (See Photo 7 & 8) 12. Using the Airbox Mounting Bolt removed during step 4 and the supplied Christmas Tree Fastener install the Air Filter Shroud on the vehicle in the same location as the previously removed airbox so that the Retaining Tab on the back side of the shroud fits into the Slot on the front of the Coolant Overflow Tank. (See Photo 8) Note: Use caution when installing the Air Filter Shroud so that the Power Steering Reservoir Lines and Harness do not get damaged. 13. Using the supplied Size 128 Hose Clamp install the Performance Air Filter onto the Venturi. (See Photo 9) Note: Rotate the hose clamp so that the tension screw is not visible but is still accessible. 14. Using one of the supplied Size 64 Hose Clamps install the Hump Hose onto the Inlet Tube Adapter ensuring that it mounts up against the Lip on the adapter. (See Photo 9 & 10) Note: Rotate the hose clamp so that the tension screw is not visible but is still accessible. Page 5 of 12

6 15. Vehicles Equipped With A 5.7L Engine: Using the supplied Size 8 Hose Clamp attach the 16 Long 1/2 ID Rubber Hose to the Inlet Tube. Vehicles Equipped With A 6.1L Engine: Cut the 16 Long 1/2 ID Rubber Hose to a length of 7.5. Using the supplied Size 8 Hose Clamp attach the 7.5 Long 1/2 ID Rubber Hose to the Inlet Tube. (See Photo 10) Note: Rotate the hose clamp so that the tension screw is not visible but is still accessible leaving room for the Hump Hose and Clamp. 16. Using one of the supplied Size 64 Hose Clamps install the Inlet Tube into the Hump Hose and adjust the tube so that the Breather Line is facing parallel to the engine and connect the Breather Line to the fitting on the intake manifold where the existing breather line was removed during step 3. (See Photo 10) 17. Using the remaining Size 64 Hose Clamp and the Size 56 Hose Clamp install the Rubber 90 Reducing Elbow on the Inlet Tube and the Throttle Body. (See Photo 11) 18. Connect the IAT Sensor Connector to the IAT Sensor and push the Red connector locking clip forward into the locked position. (See Photo 11) 19. Install the Engine Cover. (See Photo 12) Page 6 of 12
