8 SDV Single Duct Terminal Unit General Notes on How To Specify STANDARD FEATURES Patented Flo-Cross Sensor which features 24 point upstream and downstream sensing with center averaging chambers and exclusive amplification wings (Patent # 4,453,419) Industry standard round inlet collars sized to accept either flexible or rigid duct Round damper blade constructed of elastomeric gasket sandwiched between two heavy-duty galvanized steel plates Damper shaft with Delrin bearings. Shaft features a position indicator for easy identification of damper angle Slip and Drive connection on the discharge plenum Flo-Cross Sensor balancing curve label Fire rated pneumatic tubing comes on all units UNIT CONFIGURATION Standard Construction (0) - This configuration is used with a No Heat or Hot Water Heat option. This option does not include an attenuator. Attenuator (1) - This configuration is used with a No Heat or Hot Water Heat option. It is a integral attenuator. Electric Heat (3) - This configuration is required for Electric Heat. It cannot be used with No Heat or Hot Water Heat. The Electric Heat configuration comes standard with the integral attenuator. Standard Access Door casing options 1 and 3 are available. It is compatible with a discharge attenuator and electric heat. This insulation is glued to the terminal unit and secured by Z strips at the ends. Enviroseal (5) - 3/8 Engineered Polymer Foam Insulation, fiber free insulation. Complies with NFPA 90A, NFPA 90B, UL 181 and ASTM C 534. R value at 75ºF is 4. This insulation is glued to the terminal unit and mechanically fastened by rivets to the terminal unit casing. Not compatible with electric heat. CASING OPTIONS Construction 22 Gauge (0) - The construction of the terminal unit uses 22-gauge sheet metal. 22 Gauge w/ Access Door (1) - The construction of the terminal unit uses 22-gauge sheet metal with an access door mounted to the bottom of the terminal unit secured by screws. Not compatible with Electric Heat. Not avavailable on size 24 with standard construction unit configuration. 20 Gauge (2) - The construction of the terminal unit uses 20-gauge sheet metal. 20 Gauge w/ Access Door (3) - The construction of the terminal unit uses 20-gauge sheet metal with an access door mounted to the bottom of the terminal unit secured by screws. Not compatible with Electric Heat. 9 General Notes on How to Specify Notes DAMPER/CONTROL LOCATION Right (R) - Controls and damper shaft are located on the right hand side of the terminal unit. If you are looking at the inlet of the terminal unit, and the primary air is hitting you in the back of the head, then your right is the right hand of the terminal unit. Left (L) - Controls and damper shaft are located on the left hand side of the terminal unit. If you are looking at the inlet of the terminal unit, and the primary air is hitting you in the back of the head, then your left is the left hand of the terminal unit. PFMT is only available with Electric Heat. All FMA control sequences are piped and wired by T&B. T&B cannot calibrate FMA Controls. Transformers are not supplied as standard on DFMT or factory mounted controls. They must be selected from the Unit Accessories, if required. If Electric Heat is selected, then a transformer matching the electric heater voltage is supplied as a standard. Factory Mounting of controls supplied by others - Please contact a T&B Applications Engineer before ordering. These controls sequences will utilize controls supplied to the T&B manufacturing facility by others. Each of these control sequences needs to be approved by T&B engineering before the order can go into production (please see FMA Section, page SD-23. T&B requires a FMA controls checklist and a legible wiring diagram before the order can be released. Balancing tees are supplied with these control sequences. PFMT - Field mounted Pneumatic Controls supplied by others with Electric Heat. Balancing tees are not supplied with PFMT DFMT - Field mounted FMA Controls supplied by others. Chicago Code is not a control enclosure, but an add on to an existing control enclosure. Compatible with: Controls: Analog and FMA Controls Controls: Pneumatic Controls Unit Accessories: Dust Tight Sealing (E) Unit Accessories: Controls Disconnect Door Switch (D) Electric Heat Accessories: Door Fused Interlocking Disconnect Switch (K) Electric Heat Accessories: Non-Fused Interlocking Disconnect Switch (L) Electric Heat Accessories: Fusing (C) Controls Disconnect Switch (D) - Controls Disconnect Switch is a toggle disconnect switch. It turns off the power to the control enclosure. Compatible with: Controls: Analog Controls and FMA w/ No Heat, Hot Water Heat & Electric Heat Controls: Pneumatic Controls w/ Electric Heat Pneumatic Controls w/ No Heat or Hot Water Heat Transformer 24V/24V (G) - This 40 VAC transformer takes 24 Volt power and makes it 24 Volts for the controls. Transformer 120V/24V (H) - This 40 VAC transformer takes 120 Volt power and makes it 24 Volts for the controls. Transformer 208V/24V (J) - This 40 VAC transformer takes 208 Volt power and makes it 24 Volts for the controls. Transformer 240V/24V (K) - This 40 VAC transformer takes 240 Volt power and makes it 24 Volts for the controls. Transformer 277V/24V (L) - This 40 VAC transformer takes 277 Volt power and makes it 24 Volts for the controls. Transformers are compatible with Analog and FMA Controls with No Heat, Hot Water Heat. It is not compatible with Pneumatic Controls or any type of controls with Electric Heat. Requires a control enclosure. Hanger Brackets (S) - Metal brackets for mounting the terminal unit in the plenum space using threaded rod. These hanging brackets are mounted at the plant.
