Safety Information Always wash your hands after working on or around agricultural equipment prior to eating, drinking, smoking, chewing, etc Always use the proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for any task. Examples include: Gloves when handling sharp or abrasive materials Eye protection when handling contents or systems under pressure (i.e. Hydraulic, Pneumatic, Water) Welding helmet, Welding gloves, and welders clothing when welding/torching Prior to working under or at ground level of any equipment secure the machinery from movement; accidental user operation or simple rolling of equipment. This should involve Lock-Out tags at the battery, removal of the Ignition key, Do Not Operate signs placed at key locations, as well as wheel chocks as necessary. When working on a vehicle or implement s hydraulic system, suspended components may suddenly drop. If you are working on or around the implement at this time serious injury could result. If possible lower the implement or attachment to the ground before beginning any work. Alternatively; use mechanical lock-up devices to secure any components in their lifted positions. Agricultural equipment may have been exposed to many types of chemicals. Any chemicals or residues should be removed from the planter prior to beginning work. Obey all existing (new & original) warning signs and caution labels on all equipment. When working on or around equipment that has been or is running many components may get extremely hot. To avoid injury &/or serious burns allow all equipment components to properly cool before working on or around them. Avoid wearing loose or ragged clothing or jewelry around equipment, with special attention to avoid moving parts. Route and secure all wires and connections to avoid crimping or damaging. This may result in unexpected shortages and shocks. Use extreme caution when working on pressurized systems (Air, Water, Oil). Relieve all pressure from a system before disconnecting lines, fittings, etc Use a cloth or other obstruction to divert possible spray when disconnecting hose connections, fittings, fill caps, breathers, etc. Always use gloves, NEVER use bare hands. To locate or check for leaks use cardboard, never your hand. Electrical components and devices may contain high voltages and should be kept dry and closed. There are no serviceable components in this unit. Do not open this display unit, the AirForce Module, Row Flow Module, or the Smart Connector. Opening of the covers should be done by, or with guidance from trained personnel /2014

System Requirements Power The 20/20 system uses both a switched power source and a constant unswitched power source. By using the constant source, the system will maintain power to save data and safely shut down if the ignition is suddenly shut off. By using the switched or keyed source, the 20/20 will turn itself off to keep from draining the battery if the system is left on after the ignition is shut off. If you are only supplying constant power, when you turn on the 20/20 you will only see a blank grey screen. If this happens, you have two options. One, you can correct the problem by fixing the switched power leg of the 12V receptacle, or two, you can move the terminal plug on the 20/20 tractor harness from the white to the red spade. By doing this, your 20/20 will no longer shut itself down automatically when you turn the ignition off, so, if you do not turn the 20/20 off, you risk draining your battery. The maximum load that DeltaForce will require is 1 amp per valve. Remember that there is a lift valve on the lift manifold, therefore there is 1 extra amp than the number of rows on the planter. Fuse Protection To protect the 20/20 from damage, always use a maximum of a 30 Amp fuse or circuit breaker on the power supply circuit. To protect the DeltaForce system from damage: Always ensure the integrity of the integrated 60 amp fuse at the tractor cable where connected to the battery in case of short or over-current. Ensure the integrity of the 40 amp fuses on the Power Distribution Module (PDM). Seed Tube Sensors In order to collect the accurate and precise data, 20/20 requires 3/4 Dickey John or John Deere three eyed sensors. The 1/2 sensors used on some older planters have only two eyes and do not provide consistent data /2014

Hydraulics Hose Sizes -6 (3/8 ) for supply and return hoses unless an alternator is installed. -8 (1/2 ) for supply hose if an alternator is installed. -6 (3/8 ) hose from lift manifold to frame sections. -6 (3/8 ) hose for case drain Installation of a -8 (3/8 ) for Supply and Return hoses is recommended even on planters that do not currently require an alternator to allow for easier installation in the future for any additional systems that might be added. Hydraulic Flow ¼ Gallon per Minute per row 6 Gallon per Minute for hydraulic alternator 2250 PSI at all times Hydraulic Supply Source Power Beyond Selectable Control Valve (SCV) with Power Beyond Return Dedicated SCV Tied in with hydraulic drive motors Frequently Asked Questions How much Down/Lift Pressure should I be running? That depends. The amount of Down/Lift pressure will vary greatly across soil types, tillage practices, soil moisture, row unit weight..and many other variables. DeltaForce will manage the pressure in the Down and Lift circuits in order to maintain as close to your specified DeltaForce target as possible. Why is my DeltaForce constantly disabled? The DeltaForce system will be disabled upon startup and will automatically disable itself anytime power or communication to the system is reset. The reason for disabling the DeltaForce system is due to controlling moving parts on the planter. It is a safety aspect of the system and cannot be bypassed /2014

What Control Mode should I run the DeltaForce in? The most common control mode utilized, and also the best setting to start with, will be the Standard Mode. Starting in the Standard setting, make a pass or two through the field to allow the system to acclimate itself to your individual planter. Once you are comfortable with the responsiveness of the system, feel free to experiment with the Light, Heavy, and Custom control modes. After any change, allow the system to move to the new settings, then verify and inspect the results. Repeat as necessary. Normal Operating Ranges: Lift Pressure Sensor on lift manifold Up to 3000 psi P port on lift manifold Up to 3000 psi R port on lift manifold Less than 100 psi L port on lift manifold psi * P port on cylinder Up to 3000 psi R port on cylinder Less than 100 psi L port on cylinder psi * Cylinder Pressure psi * o * Will only read when the system is activated. When the system is deactivated, should read less than 100 psi. What is required for DeltaForce to control to target? In order for DeltaForce to operate correctly the following conditions must be met: 1. Planter moving 2. Planter lowered 3. Master Plant switch on 4. DeltaForce enabled (DeltaForce Control Page) /2014

The reason for disabling the DeltaForce system is due to controlling moving parts on the planter. It is a safety aspect of the system and cannot be bypassed. DeltaForce status will be shown in the lower right corner of the screen. Clicking on DeltaForce will take the operator to the DeltaForce Control Page. The specific row unit and smart pin readings are displayed for the both the highest and the lowest average readings over the past three seconds /2014

Margin will also be displayed. Margin is the second lowest weigh pin reading over the last three seconds across the planter. Ground contact is displayed as a percentage. This is a planter wide average of whether or not each row is applying adequate force to place the seed at the correct depth. Selecting the DownForce button will take the operator to the DownForce Details page. DownForce Details When operating a DeltaForce system, the DownForce Details page will display additional information compared to the basic SeedSense. The top of the page will list all rows on the planter that have a weigh pin installed. The page will then be divided into three categories: Margin, Ground Contact and Applied Net Force. Along the bottom of the page will be planter averages displayed numerically /2014

Margin This section of the bar graph represents the Margin values for each row. Margin is the second lowest weigh pin reading over the last three seconds across the planter. This represents the amount of weight that a static down force system could remove and still maintain ground contact. Ground Contact This section of the bar graph represents the average Percent Ground Contact values for each row. Ground Contact is displayed as a percentage of time that specific row maintains weight on the gauge wheels. Applied Net Force This section of the bar graph represents the Applied Net Force for each row. The Applied Net Force is the amount of force the cylinders are applying to the row unit. Control Mode This box will display the active Control Mode of the system. The display will read Manual when the system is in Manual Mode as well as Disabled if the operator disables DeltaForce. Applied Net Force This box will display the planter average of applied net force. Applied Lift Force This box will display the planter average of lift force that is being applied across the planter. Ground Contact This box will display the planter average of ground contact. DeltaForce Control The DeltaForce Control page can be accessed by pressing the DeltaForce button on the homepage. The DeltaForce Control page can also be accessed by Setup, Systems, DeltaForce Control. Refer to Illustration 17. Illustration /2014

The DeltaForce Control Center is where the operator can adjust automatic control settings for DeltaForce. The five settings for DeltaForce include: 1) Light 2) Standard 3) Heavy 4) Custom 5) Manual. Each setting had a different DeltaForce target value. The standard target is 100 pounds. The light target is 50 pounds. The heavy target is 150 pounds. Light The light target for light is 50 pounds. This setting could potentially be used when seed depth and/or moisture are not as yield limiting as potential row compaction. Light Standard The standard target is 100 pounds. Standard will be the most commonly used DeltaForce setting. Standard Heavy The heavy target is 150 pounds. This setting will most commonly be used in dry conditions or cloddy seed-bed. Heavy Custom Automatic This control mode will allow the operator to create their own target with automatic control. The operator can adjust the target with the Left Arrow and Right Arrow in the upper right corner of the page. In Custom Mode, the operator can set their own target value by using the Left and Right buttons. Refer to Illustration 18. Manual Mode This control mode allows the operator to designate a desired force for the system to maintain. The DeltaForce target that is determined by the operator is the amount of weight that is carried on the gauge wheels when the system is in automatic mode /2014

Custom Illustration 18 In Manual Mode, the operator can adjust the target value up and down as they progress through the field. Refer to Illustration 19. Illustration 19 NOTE: DeltaForce must be enabled in order to control downforce. Ensure that DeltaForce is enabled. Enable Control will be yellow if DeltaForce is disabled via the screen. Enable Control will be red if DeltaForce is disabled due to master plant switch on the CCM is turned off. Refer to Illustration 20. Manual Illustration /2014
