1 CUSTOMER SERVICES PARTS DEPARTMENT GMC MOTOR HOME It's our pleasure to announce that General Motors, Truck & Coach Division have selected the Onan 4.OBF-lR/9000 and 6.ONH-1R/9000 to provide power for their new 23 and 26 foot GMC Motor Homes. Attached is page one of the GMC news release dated January 3, 1973 on their new Motor Homes. It's evident from this release that GMC is going to provide complete Parts, Service and Warranty support for the entire product. To accomplish this, GMC insisted on making direct parts arrangements with Onan. Even with this direct arrangement, you as an Onan Distributor or Dealer can expect to be called upon for Parts and Service on the Onan Generator by the Motor Home owner as well as some of the GM Dealers. Certainly with increasing GM production, this application can be profitable to our entire Onan Distributor/Dealer Organization. To assist you in the aftermarket sales, we've enclosed a complete parts book for both units used on the GMC Motor Homes. While these are preliminary books, formal publication on the "Power in a Drawer" units will be distributed to all Onan Distributors and Dealers at a later time. Also enclosed is a minimum suggested stock list for both models. East Pontiac, Michigan / Ext TRUCK & COACH DIVISION FOR [ELEASE ANAHEIM, CALIF., JAN. 3 Around-the-clock emergency service assistance will be provided by all dealerships marketing the new integrally-designed GMC motor home to go on sale in February, a General Motors vice president announced today. The emergency service plan was among several motor home program features described as "unique and innovative to provide the highest quality product in all respects -- from initial design through customer service," by Alex C. Mair, general manager of GMC Truck & Coach Division. He spoke at Anaheim Stadium where 23 and 26-foot GMC motor homes were test-driven by news media representatives. Mair said the new vehicle will be initially sold through more than 50 dealerships in major metropolitan areas with about 200 dealerships anticipated by the end of Separate motor home center franchises are available to certain General Motors car and truck dealers who will have service and warranty responsibility for the entire vehicle, including living area installations. Explaining the emergency service program, he said an owner can dial a toll-free "sudden service" telephone number and immediately be - advised of the nearest GMC motor home dealership representative available for assistance around the clock. A similar program is offered for GMC truck owners.
