1 S&C Alduti-Rupter Switches with Power Fusesa SPECIFICATIONS Conditions of Sale STANDARD: Seller s standard conditions of sale set forth in Price Sheet 150 apply, except as modified under WARRANTY QUALIFICATIONS below. SPECIAL TO THIS PRODUCT: INCLUSIONS: Integral quick-make quick-break mechanism and antifriction bearings are featured in the built-in operating mechanism of the three-pole switches, which are furnished as complete units including direct-coupled, chain-coupled, or pipe-coupled handle; full-length interphase barriers; side barriers; and any other operatingmechanism components required by the specifications for any Standard Mounting Arrangement covered in S&C Data Bulletin Shaft extensions for Alduti-Rupter Switches with Power Fuses will be furnished if they are specified on orders, together with the dimension required. EXCLUSIONS: Switches do not include holders or refill units. The applicable holder is listed on the same horizontal line as the switch. Switches do not include connectors. Various connectors are available as listed in the table on page 5. Specify quantity and catalog number of connectors desired. SPECIFICATION DEVIATIONS: Switches cannot be provided with special insulators. Switches, regardless of voltage rating, cannot be supplied for back connection. Switches cannot be supplied less insulators. Higher or lower insulator voltage ratings for a switch of a given voltage rating are not available. Switches can be supplied with an operating mecha nism which conforms to the specifications of any minor modification of the Standard Mounting Arrangements listed in S&C Data Bulletin Switches can be supplied with an operating mecha nism which requires the preparation or re-use of a custom erection drawing of a special mounting arrange ment. Switches can be supplied with tin-plated terminal pads. To specify, add suffix -Z5 to the catalog number. Obtain the catalog number of the desired switch from the tables on pages 3 and 4. b. Obtain the ED number of the desired mounting arrangement from S&C Data Bulletin If either a minor modification of a standard mounting arrangement or a special mounting arrangement is desired, see the Specification Deviations section on page 1. c. If tin-plated terminal pads are desired, add suffix -Z5 to the switch catalog number. d. If accessories or parts are desired, obtain the cata log number of the desired accessory or part from page 5. e. If connectors are desired, obtain the catalog number of the desired connector from page Fuse components: a. Obtain the catalog number of the applicable holder from the Holder column on pages 3 and 4, reading from the same line on which the switch catalog number is listed. b. Obtain the catalog number of the desired refill unit from the tables on pages 6 and 7, taking care to match the voltage rating to that of the switch. For specific switching capabilities, particularly with respect to capacitive current, refer to Specification Bulletin , S&C Alduti-Rupter Switches Indoor Distribution, where the Applications column on pages 5 and 6 together with explanatory tables on pages 2 and 3 provide the desired specific information for each voltage rating. 2 These ratings apply to switches. Fuse ratings are indicated in the second and ninth columns. 3 Duty-cycle fault-closing ratings define the ability to close the switch, in combination with the appropriate Type SM-5S Power Fuse, the specified number of times (one or two) against a three-phase fault with asymmetrical current in at least one phase equal to the rated value, with the switch remaining operable and able to carry and inter rupt rated continuous current. 4 The two-time duty-cycle fault-closing rating of the -ampere switches alone (unfused) is 40,000 amperes. The one-time duty-cycle fault-closing rating of the 4.8-kV, -ampere switches alone (unfused) is 61,000 amperes. 5 Symmetrical ratings assigned are based on available short-circuit current at locations where the X/R ratio is 15. The interrupting ratings expressed in amperes RMS asymmetrical are 1.6 times the symmetrical ratings listed. Higher symmetrical ratings have been determined for these fuses where X/R 5 10 and X/R 5 5. These higher ratings as well as asymmetrical ratings are given in S&C Descriptive Bulletin Top and bottom front-connected. These switches cannot be supplied for back connection. These switches are furnished with S&C Cypoxy Insulators. l shown applies at 4.16 kv.
