This will keep the fluid in the lines and make it easier to bleed the system. 1. Remove the axle and hub from the rear end housing (see Service Manual). There is a small lock piece retained in to the adjuster nut to keep it from moving. Use pliers to pull this out. Then using the special socket, remove the adjuster nut. Gently pull on the hub until it starts moving. The front bearing will out first, continue there are 2 bearings housed in this hub. The smaller diameter goes in the front, the larger in the rear. Keep this in mind when going to reassemble.

Install the rotors on the backside of the hub using wheel studs. Drive studs in with a large drift punch. (Make Sure Mating Surface is CLEAN)! Set-aside until step 5

4. Bolt the Axle Tube bracket to the outside of the housing using the (4) 1/2-20 T- bolts, and Lock

Calipers should have the bleeder screws facing up.

3 4. Bolt the Axle Tube bracket to the outside of the housing using the (4) 1/2-20 T- bolts, and Lock Nuts. The axle tube bracket should mount so that the Caliper is in the 3 O clock position on the Drivers Side (Caliper between axle tube and rear bumper). (See relief to clear caliper casting, which corresponds with notch in caliper bracket for non-parking brake caliper). Rear Caliper mounting from 2 o clock thru 3 o clock position is best. Also if you turn the bracket over there will be 2 slightly different positions for the caliper. Calipers should have the bleeder screws facing up. (Mount with Bleeder Screw as high up as possible for bleeding). Bolt the caliper bracket to the axle tube bracket with the (4) 3/8 spacers in between. Bracket is spaced to the outside near the rotor. Use the 2-inch bolts and lock nuts.

5. Now pack the bearing with fresh wheel bearing grease. Put the large bearing in the back of the hub, and then install the new seal. Put a coat of grease on the seal surface as well.

Tighten until there is no lateral movement in the hub, then give another turn and tap in the little clip. Check for clearances and check rotor run out with a dial indicator.010 or less is fine. 6.

Don t forget to put the gasket on also. Torque the bolts to 90 ft/lbs. Now install the caliper, check for Left or Right side. Bleeder Screw up!

Carefully bend the hard line in Zig Zag shape to shorten up line & position to thread into the flex line. Use supplied L bracket for mounting the lines, clamp or weld on the tab.

4 5. Now pack the bearing with fresh wheel bearing grease. Put the large bearing in the back of the hub, and then install the new seal. Put a coat of grease on the seal surface as well. Slide hub onto the shaft, slide the smaller bearing inside. Now thread on the adjuster nut. This nut should not be cranked on. Tighten until there is no lateral movement in the hub, then give another turn and tap in the little clip. Check for clearances and check rotor run out with a dial indicator.010 or less is fine. 6. Make sure everything is tight. Reinstall the axle and clean off any contaminants, then put some bearing grease on the splines to help it ease in. carefully slide the axle in and engage the splines. Don t forget to put the gasket on also. Torque the bolts to 90 ft/lbs. Now install the caliper, check for Left or Right side. Bleeder Screw up! Lubricate and install the calipers with our 2400-degree PasteLube. Install the short braided line, supplied with the kit, onto the caliper. Carefully bend the hard line in Zig Zag shape to shorten up line & position to thread into the flex line. Use supplied L bracket for mounting the lines, clamp or weld on the tab. Some flat stock may be formed to allow a bolt-on bracket for some applications, See samples below. 7. Before attaching the parking brake cable and multi hole bracket and L bracket, adjust the lever. Simply, remove the spring on the caliper with Vise Grips, and then pull the lever down until the pads meet the rotor. If the gap is more than ¼, loosen the nut at the pivot point and rotate the lever back against the stop. Tighten nut, and reinstall spring. See the Parking Brake Lever Adjustment Instructions If needed. Remember to apply and use your parking brake often to keep pads adjusted up properly and to prevent a spongy pedal. Attach the multi hole parking cable mount to threaded hole in the caliper body and tighten. Now attach the L bracket into appropriate holes in that bracket to take the slack out between the end of the Cable Housing and the cable end that attaches to the Actuator Lever. Route cables as necessary, (Some models may require purchase of custom shorter cables)

5 9. Gravity Bleed, then Pressure Bleed system using our Power Bleeder and Motul 600c Brake Fluid. Caliper may a tendency to trap air behind the piston, Check Master Cylinder Fluid Level and Push the brake pedal a few times to push fluid up to the caliper and use a vacuum pump to pull out the air. Begin Pressure bleeding on the right rear first then the left side, repeat as required until air is gone and pedal is firm. Depress brake pedal down ¾ -1 with pedal stick to open M/C bypass valve. 10. Find a Safe Area to check the brakes and to make sure everything is correctly installed. Seat brake shoes in normally with a few light to moderate stops and allow miles to complete seating of the shoes. Re-inspect and Re-torque system as required insuring SAFE OPERATION.
