2 Document No.: LMSII_V100_OM Page 2 of 8 1. Operation: When the wet well level rises above the on level set point, the lead pump will start after an adjustable time delay. When the wet well level falls below the off level set point, the pumps that are running will stop after an adjustable time delay. The controller will vary the output frequency of the Variable frequency drives to maintain the desired level set point. If another pump is available and the level rises a half a foot or more above the desired level set point, then a lag pump will start after an adjustable delay. Lag2 and Lag3 also trigger this way if available. The lead pump will run at min speed if there is a transducer failure. If the high alarm float is installed and activated the pumps will turn on and run until the adjustable timer labeled float run time is timed out. Every time the level goes above the high alarm float the timer is reset. When the high alarm float control is activated the high alarm float instead of the transducer controls the speed. 2. Pump Alternation: The pumps will alternate every 13 hours if the lead pump runs continuous. The pumps also alternate every time the lead pump shuts off. The alternation is based upon pump availability and the order they are made available. The lead pump is stored in EEPROM. If the controller is reset, the stored lead Variable frequency drive will start if it is available. 3. Alarm Annunciation: The system will generate alarms for the following conditions: high level, low level, and high float.. Output 1 is the high level alarm, output 2 is the high float alarm, and output 3 is the low level alarm. The outputs are open collector type 24Vdc. A relay with a 24Vdc coil can be connected to these outputs. The coil must draw less than 250mA continuous. One side of the coil is connected to the output and the other side is connected to 24Vdc. A diode must be placed across the coil to ensure operation. The low level alarm will cause a system shutdown. All alarms are displayed on an alarm banner on the Human machine interface(hmi). 4. Auto/Manual Mode (ABB Variable Frequency Drive): When the HAND key is pressed, the variable frequency drive starts and the reference frequency can be modified by pressing the UP/ DOWN keys. The HAND (keypad) control mode is indicated. When the OFF key is pressed, the variable frequency drive stops and the OFF control mode is indicated. When the AUTO key is pressed, the AUTO mode is indicated. The variable frequency drive can be started and stopped via a serial communication command. The variable frequency drive speed is controlled by the external speed reference input. If the HAND key is pressed while the variable frequency drive is running in the AUTO control mode, the variable frequency drive continues to run without changing speed, but ceases to respond to external input or PID speed reference changes (Bump-less transfer). The reference frequency can be modified by pressing the UP/DOWN keys. If the AUTO key is pressed while the variable frequency drive is running in the HAND control mode, the drive continues to run and follows the acceleration or deceleration control ramp to the speed set by the external input or PID speed reference (Bump-less transfer). 5. Human-Machine Interface: The interface is a touch screen type. The display allows for both changing system set points and monitoring. The display main screen is used to monitor the system level, the variable frequency drive speed, and the desired level set point. An alarm banner is displayed only when an alarm is active. 6. Changing Set Points: Set point adjustment will be accomplished via a series of menus. Each menu contains touch buttons that pop up a keypad when touched. Each set point has a Help button. The Help button pops up a definition of the set point. Refer to the set point definitions for a complete description of each changeable set point. Upon start up you may write actual set point values in the table list of default and actual set points.

This triggers an alarm output when the level falls below this value. The minimum speed at which the drive will run. The band around the set point in which the proportional error is used to trigger a constant drive speed. This # is a % of the local set point. The multiple used to calculate the time it takes for the proportional error to go from a minimum value to a maximum value. The multiple used to calculate the time it takes for the derivative error to go from a minimum value to a maximum value. The band around the set point in which the differential error is used to trigger a constant drive speed. The password used to enter the user mode. The user mode allows access to only the essential changeable parameters. The password used to enter the Integrator mode. The integrator mode allows access to all changeable parameters. The max changes for each given write cycle. The level the pump will start. The level the pumps will stop. Each drive has an inter-step off delay.. The delay before a pump will start. This is also used as the inter-step on delay. The delay before a pump will turn off. This is also used as an inter-step off delay. The trial time the pumps will run when in high float control. Each drive has an inter-step off delay. The rate of error change when the high float control is active. Higher no. = slower speed change.

6 Document No.: LMSII_V100_OM Page 6 of 8 Startup Procedure for New Installs 1. Inspect the installation for damage. Inspect the plumbing connections and electrical connections. Turn pump shafts manually if possible. Measure for grounds on the motor leads and any other equipment wired in the field. 2. Set all installed float switches to the proper levels. 3. Measure incoming power with a meter and verify it is correct for panel design. 4. Power up control panel but do not turn on variable speed drive disconnects yet. 5. Change any setpoints as desired at this time. 6. Turn the disconnects to the drives on. Verify the pump rotation is correct by running each pump in hand. 7. Test each pump for proper operation in auto. 8. When the level is at the desired level set point, tune the proportional and derivative setpoints for smooth level control. 9. Set all other set points per application.

( ) warrants to the original purchaser (the Buyer ) of each product (the product ), that any part thereof which proves to be defective in material or workmanship within one (1) year from date of installation or 18 months from the date of manufacture, whichever comes first, will be replaced at no charge with a new or remanufactured part, F.O.B. factory. Buyer shall be responsible for all freight charges and all costs of field labor or other charges incurred in the removal and/or reinstallation of any product, part or component thereof. 2. Exclusions. THE WARRANTY IS SUBJECT TO THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS AND EXCLUSIONS: (a) The Warranty excludes products or workmanship which becomes defective as a result of: (i) earthquake, fire, storms, the elements or any other acts of God; (ii) normal wear and tear from use; (iii) accident, misuse, abuse or neglect ; (iv) modifications made by Buyer or any third party, other than ; and (v) Buyer s failure to properly install, maintain, service and/or operate the product under normal conditions and according to manufacturer s instructions. (b) shall not be responsible for, and the Warranty shall not cover, extended damage which occurs because of Buyer s failure to notify promptly in writing of apparent defects. (c) Any part or component designated as manufactured by anyone other than shall be covered only by the express warranty of the manufacturer thereof. (d) The Warranty shall lapse upon Buyer s failure to fully comply with the terms and conditions of its contract with, including Buyer s failure to pay the purchase price for the product or any portion thereof. Buyer s subsequent compliance with the terms and conditions of any such contract, will not cause the term of the Warranty to extend beyond the time period set forth above. (e) No actions taken by to correct a defect in a product shall extend the Warranty beyond the period set forth above. shall not be obligated to remedy any defect, where otherwise required pursuant to the Warranty unless and until Buyer notifies in writing of the defect and then only if such notification is made prior to the expiration of the period set forth above. 3. Process of Claims and Repairs. agrees that if the product or any part or component thereof shall fail to conform to the terms of this Warranty, shall replace such nonconforming product, part or component at the original point of delivery and furnish instruction for its disposition. Any transportation charges involved in such disposition and all costs of field labor or other charges incurred in the removal and/or reinstallation of any product, part or component thereof shall be the responsibility of Buyer. 4. Limitation on Liability. Notwithstanding any provision to the contrary, s entire liability under this Warranty shall not in the aggregate exceed, and Buyer s exclusive and sole remedies are, to the extent permitted by law, shall be to secure replacement of the defective product. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHALL METROPOLITAN BE LIABLE UNDER THE WARRANTY FOR ANY INDIRECT, PUNITIVE, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, CONSEQUENTIAL OR INCIDENTAL DAMAGES (INCLUDING LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, USE OR ECONOMIC ADVANTAGE). 5. Express Waiver of Any Other Warranties. THE EXPRESS WARRANTY SET FORTH IN THIS WRITTEN WARRANTY IS THE ONLY WARRANTY MADE BY METROPOLITAN, OR ANY OTHER PARTY, IN CONNECTION WITH ANY PRODUCT PURCHASED FROM METROPOLITAN. NEITHER METROPOLITAN, NOR ANY OTHER PARTY, MAKES ANY OTHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTY WHICH IS NOT SET FORTH HEREIN, AND METROPOLITAN HEREBY DISCLAIMS AND BUYER HEREBY WAIVES ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING THE IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY AND THE IMPLIED WARRANTY OF FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. 6.
