2 DYNATEK FUSION INPUT ACCESSORY GUIDE DYNATEK FUSION MODULE INPUTS Map: (Input 1 or 2) The Dynatek Fusion has the ability to hold 2 different base maps. You can switch on the fly between these two base maps when you hook up a switch to a switch input (Input 1 or 2). You can use any open/close type switch. The polarity of the wires is not important. When using the DynaTune kit one position will hold a base map and the other position will let you activate the learning mode. When the switch is CLOSED DynaTune will be activated. (Set to Input 1 by default.) Shifter: (Input 1 or 2) These inputs are for use with the Quickshifter. Insert the wires from the Quickshifter into a switch input (Input 1 or 2). The polarity of the wires is not important. (Set to Input 2 by default.) Speed: If your vehicle has a 0-5v speed sensor, then you can tap into the signal side of the sensor and run a wire into this input. This will allow you to calculate gear position in the Control Center Software. Once gear position is setup you can alter your map based on gear position and setup gear dependent kill times when using a Quickshifter. Analog: This input is for a 0-5v analog signal such as engine temp, boost, etc. Once this input is established you can alter your fuel curve based on this input in the Control Center Software. USB CONNECTION EXPANSION PORTS 1 & 2 INPUT 1 INPUT 1 (Grnd) INPUT 2 INPUT 2 (Grnd) SPEED ANALOG CRANK WIRE CONNECTIONS: To input wires into the Dynatek Fusion first remove the rubber plug on the backside of the unit and loosen the screw for the corresponding input. Using a gauge wire strip about 10mm from its end. Push the wire into the hole of the Dynatek Fusion wire terminal strip until is stops and then tighten the screw. Make sure to reinstall the rubber plug. NOTE: If you tin the wires with solder it will make inserting them easier. Crank: Do NOT connect anything to this port unless instructed to do so by Dynatek. It is used to transfer crank trigger data from one module to another. USING DYNATEK FUSION SOFTWARE Download the latest version of software and map files for the Dynatek Fusion from our website ( From the Home page of our website, go to Support -> Downloads. Select the folder tab for Software. Click the link for Control Center Software. The file will download to your computer in a zipped format (.zip file). You must first save this zipped file to a temporary location on your computer (such as the Desktop). Then open and extract the file inside using Windows Explorer or a file extraction program such as Winzip. Double click the Install Dynatek Control Center.exe file to launch and install the software to your computer. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the installation. By default, the Control Center Software and maps will be stored in C:\Program Files\ Dynatek Control Center. The vehicle specific map files can be extracted to your computer from the website. After selecting the specific vehicle model from the website, click the link and run the map file extraction program for the specific vehicle model. The program will extract the map files into a...\dynatek Fusion\ maps\ folder in your My Documents directory. Connect the USB cable from the computer to the Fusion. Verify the cable is fully seated on both ends. Run the Dynatek Control Center Software by double-clicking the program icon installed on your desktop or in your Windows Start menu. Click Open Map File and select a map file. Click Send Map to load the file into the Fusion module. The values in the map represent a percentage of fuel change over stock. A value of 10 in the map indicates at that throttle position and RPM range the vehicle will be 10% richer than stock. If the value is -10, then it would be 10% leaner than stock. You have the ability to fine tune your fuel curve by altering these values. The Control Center software allows a value of +250 to -100 in each cell of a fuel table. TROUBLESHOOTING If the POWER LED does not come on when the engine is started, there is no power to the Dynatek Fusion. Make sure that you have the ground hooked up properly (either directly to the battery ground or to a lug on the frame that is well grounded). If the LED comes on, but does not run on all cylinders, double check all connections at the injector, making sure the connectors are seated properly Kawasaki Teryx 4-2

3 Remove FIG.A 1 Remove both of the front seats and the engine cover (Fig. A). Remove FIG.B 2 Secure the Fusion to the panel below the drivers seat using the supplied Velcro. Make sure to clean the surface with the alcohol swab before attaching. FIG.C 3 Unplug the Crank Position Sensor connector (Fig. C). This is a BLACK, 2-pin connector zip tied to the cross member below the drivers seat. DFE Toll Free: Kawasaki Teryx 4-3

4 FIG.D Fusion Stk 4 Plug the WHITE 2-pin connectors from the Fusion in-line of the stock CPS connectors (Fig. D). Fusion Stk FIG.E Fusion harness 5 Remove the rubber cover around the air box. 6 Route the Fusion harness underneath the gear shift cable and go up and over the air box (Fig. E). FIG.F Unplug 7 Unplug the stock throttle body connector (Fig. F). This is a BLACK, 6-pin connector located on the right side of the airbox. DFE Toll Free: Kawasaki Teryx 4-4

5 FIG.G 8 Connect the Fusion harness in-line of the stock wiring harness (Fig. G). FIG.H Unplug 9 Unplug the stock GREEN/WHITE wire from the front ignition coil (Fig. H). FIG.I 10 Connect the Fusion harness in-line of the stock GREEN/WHITE wire and the front ignition coil (Fig. I). The Fusion GREEN/WHITE wire goes to the coil (GREEN tab on coil). The Fusion GREEN wire goes to the stock GREEN/WHITE wire. DFE Toll Free: Kawasaki Teryx 4-5

6 Unplug FIG.J 11 Unplug the stock wiring harness from the rear ignition coil (Fig. J) Located to the rear of the airbox. FIG.K Ground 12 Connect the Fusion harness in-line of the stock harness and rear ignition coil (Fig. K). The Fusion BLUE/WHITE wire goes to the coil (GREEN tab on coil). The Fusion RED/WHITE wire goes to the coil (BLACK tab on coil). 13 Attach the ground wire of the Fusion to the coil mounting bolt (Fig.K). 14 Unplug the stock O2 sensor from the wiring harness (Fig. L). FIG.L This is a 4-pin connector located to the right side of the airbox. This may be tucked under a rubber flap. 15 Plug the supplied O2 Optimizer into the stock wiring harness in place ofthe stock O2 sensor. The stock O2 sensor will no longer be connected to anything and can be removed from the exhaust if desired and if you have a way to plug the empty hole in the exhaust. 16 Reinstall the panels and seats.
