Do not install an service the sensor without following the Instruction Manual. This sensor is esigne to be connecte to other instruments which can be hazarous if use improperly. Installation an Commissioning Statements Remove power to the sensor before wiring any connection. Depressurize an vent the system before installing or removing the sensor. Check an confirm the chemical compatibility of the materials in contact with the liqui. Do not excee maximum temperature/pressure ata. 3 2. Description 2.1. Design The simple an reliable palewheel flow sensor type F3.00 is esigne for use with every kin of soli-free liquis. The sensor can measure flow from 0. m/s (0.5 ft/s) proucing a frequency output signal highly repeatable. A rugge construction an a proven technology guarantee exceptional performances with little or no maintenance require. A specially esigne family of fittings ensures an easy an quick installation into all pipe materials in sizes from to 600 (0.5 to 24 in.) Technical Features A. The palewheel is equippe with a permanent magnet integrate into each blae. As the magnet passes close to the transucer a pulse is generate. When liqui flows into the pipe, the palewheel is set in rotation proucing a square wave output signal. The frequency is proportional to the flow velocity. The sensor is installe into the pipe using a wie range of insertion type fittings supplie by the flow sensor manufacturer. 3

Output Devices K3 Frequency Output & MIN alarm KIT This Kit consists of an aitional IP housing plugge on the sensor. It is equippe with an open collector frequency output an a mechanical SPDT contact. The MIN alarm set-point can be freely set by a potentiometer from 0. to 1 m/s ( 0.5 to 3.3 ft/s). When the flow velocity rops below the ajuste limit the relay output opens an the Local Status Inicator changes colour. It has been esigne to protect a pump from running ry or pumping against a close valve in the main pipeline K ma Output KIT This Kit consists of an aitional IP housing plugge on the sensor. It is a blin transmitter esigne to convert the signal from the sensor into a 4 ma signal for long istance transmission Installation The K3 an K330 Kits can be orere irectly mounte on top of the flow sensor or separately an then simply installe on the proper sensor. Please refer to the Instruction Manual of the Output KIT for proper installation an calibration. 4

7 4. Installation 4.1. Location Different pipe configurations an obstacles in the flow line such as valves, elbows, pipe bens an strainers create variations on the flow profile. Whenever possible follow the EN ISO installation recommenations to locate the sensor. Always maximize istance between flow sensor an pump Mounting Position Make sure the pipeline is always full. Upwar flow is preferre to ensure full pipe. 7

8 4.3. Process Connection 1. Lubricate the sensor O-rings with a silicone lubricant. Do not use any petroleum base lubricant that may amage the O-rings. 2. Lower the sensor into the fitting making sure the alignment tab is seate in the fitting notch. 3. Han tighten the sensor cap. Do not use any tool otherwise cap an/or fitting threas may be amage Wiring Always ensure the power supply is switche off before working on the sensor.
