We developed the WESA-X system so that you are able to adjust the damping on the fly at the push of a button at maximum comfort. The respective control unit is mounted near the handlebars and modifies the stepping motor situated in the lower shocks eye thus adjusting the damping. Using the control unit you can tune the suspension individually to different road surfaces in three preset steps soft, medium, hart. The E-PA (accessory option) enables you to adjust the loading situation of the vehicle at the push of a button in 5 steps thus preloading the spring with the help of an electronic-hydraulic gadget. Therewith you can modify the vehicle level even while riding. The WESA-X system gives you full and easy control in every riding situation and on every road condition, always offering maximum riding comfort at a push of a button. System components Read the safety instructions carefully and thoroughly and only use the product when you have understood all details and are able to follow all security instructions. General security instructions: This product was developed especially for a respective vehicle type and can only be used within in this type. Please check, if you received the right product for your vehicle type. There is a part number engraved onto the end cap at the end of the cylinder. On this cap you also find the KBA number (German TÜV certificate number) as well as the date of assembly. Compare your part number with the manufacturer s data. 1 Shock absorber with stepper motor in bottom eye 2 E-PA unit 3 Black-box 4 Control unit 5 Battery cable set 6 Mounting bracket for E-PA Only the manufacturer is allowed to open, change or service the components. For damages that occur due to non-compliance the manufacturer does not assume liability. In addition the product warranty expires! The WESA-X system is delivered with a model-specific installation instruction and has to be installed exactly like stated in the instruction. For damages that occur due to failure to comply with the installation instruction, the manufacturer is not liable. After installation of the product you should do a test ride and check the correct function of product and vehicle. Before the test ride please ensure that your vehicle is roadworthy. Then carefully test the border zones of your new suspension. In case that you find a malfunction for example if the product makes unusual noise or oil is leaking, do not ride any further and contact the manufacturer, importer or service point. If necessary send the product back to the manufacturer, importer or service point dealer. Follow the installation instruction and fastening torque of the vehicle manufacturer. If there were any variations necessary we ll inform you about those explicitly. Basically all suspension products should be installed in an authorized service center with respective tools and equipment

Function of control unit 5.1 Black Box The control is done by the following formula: All plug-connections are picked in a way to exclude confusion. LED 8 LED 7 LED 6 hard medium soft Damping adjustment in three steps Spring preload adjustment in five steps 2 persons + luggage 2 persons Solo + luggage Solo sport Solo without luggage LED 5 LED 4 LED 3 LED 2 LED Attention: Theoretically damping and preload can be adjusted simultaneously. By using the right button the spring preload and LED-index is adjusted as follows: (LED 1 Solo, LED 5 2-up+luggage) By using the left button the damping and LED-index is adjusted as follows: (LED 6 soft, LED 8 hard) The WESA-X system only works when the ignition is on and with >12.8 volt battery tension. With fewer tension the engine has to be started so that the generator produces a high enough tension of >12.8 volt. This border is picked out of security reasons, so that you will always be able to start the vehicle without the battery being strained by the system. Connection 1: E-PA sensor (4pins female) Connection 2: E-PA electrical power supply (2pins female) Connection 3: Black-box (5pins female) Connection 4: Shock absorber with stepping motor (4pins male) Connection 5: Battery cable (3pins male) After the start the stepping motor is calibrated and set to the last picked position. The E-PA calibrates itself every 50 starts. During calibration the LEDs on the left side blink one after the other from bottom to top and backwards. After calibration the damping/preload that was picked last is set and the LEDs show the respective adjustment. 5.2 Battery connection 1: Connection to control unit (3pins male) 2: Cable connection (black) to (-) pin of the battery 3: Cable connection (red) with fuse to (+) pin of the battery : Cable connection (white) with branch joint (pink) for connection with switched 12 Volt line

5 6. General installation instructions 7. Connection/operation 6. General installation instructions The WESA-X system always has to be installed referring to the vehicle specific documents. Follow the installation instructions and fastening torques of the vehicle manufacturer. Make sure that the installation of the cables does not hinder the clearance of all components. Make sure that after the installation of the E-PA and laying the hydraulic hose all components have enough clearance. For installation, use the assembly-parts and brackets included in the delivery. 7. Connection/operation Disconnect (-) pin of the battery. Disconnect (+) pin of the battery. Remove fuse from the red cable to (+) pin (important for configuration). Insert all plugs into the black-box. Connect the (white) steering cable with branch joint (pink) to a 12V cable switched to the ignition. Make sure that the connection is installed in a dry place and if necessary use duct tape for protection against wetness. First connect output cable to the (+) pin of the battery then connect the black cable to the ( ) pin. Do not yet insert the fuse.

6 8. System configuration 9. Troubleshooting 8. System configuration 9. Troubleshooting Put the motorcycle on the main stand on a flat surface. If there is no main stand, use the side stand. The motorcycle must not be loaded. The WESA-X system needs a first system configuration. The first configuration becomes necessary each time it is disconnected/ connected to the battery. Make sure that the battery is fully loaded or connected to a battery charger. Insert the fuse into the plus-cable to start the first identification process. The black-box checks all existing connections. When the shock absorber is connected to the stepping-motor the calibration process begins. Calibration will only take a few seconds and is repeated every time the ignition is started. If an E-PA is connected first a big calibration is excecuted where the E-PA runs through the complete adjustment-range. For that purpose the motor should be running or a battery charger should be fitted so that the tension is never below 12.8 volt. This calibration process takes less than a minute. During the process the LEDs on the preload side blink one after the other from bottom to top and backwards. After calibration the E-PA is set to the bottommost position. In no case interrupt calibration, meaning do not shut off the motor or remove the battery charger. The E-PA calibration process repeats itself at every 50th ignition start. Should for any reasons a malfunction occur the system enters troubleshooting mode. An LED on the control unit blinks constantly. In this case the ignition should be turned off and on again. The system will be rebooted and calibration begins. After that the system should again be functional. If the malfunction remains, the system will again enter troubleshooting mode and the error is indicated by a blinking LED. Use the following error search the numbering of the LED s you can find at 4. Function of control unit. LED 1: Battery tension is too low! Make sure that the system has a tension of at least 12.8 volt. Also check all cable connections. LED 2: Tension of E-PA motor is too high! Check all cable connections for short circuit. In case of very high loads disburden the E-PA and check the clearance. LED 3: Temperature problem at E-PA-motor! Wait until the temperature has cooled down, then the system should work normally. LED 4: E-PA motor without energy! Check cable- and plug-connections (2 Pins female). LED 5: E-PA sensor problem! Check cable- and plug-connections (4 Pins female). LED 6: Calibration incomplete! Check cable- and plug-connections, Check battery tension it must be 12.8 volt or more. Control the clearance of the E-PA or disburden E-PA if loaded. LED 7: Calibration incomplete, unable to complete! Check cable- and plug-connections, Check battery tension it must be 12.8 volt or more. Control the clearance of the E-PA or disburden E-PA if loaded. LED 8: Stepping motor without energy! Check cable- and plug-connections. No LEDs are blinking after ignition! Check cable- and plug-connections as well as the fuse. All LEDs blink once and after that no status is shown! Battery tension is too low. Check battery tension, it must be 12.8 volt or more. All indicated errors can be erased by switching the ignition on and off again. In case of doubt the system can be rebooted like during the first start-up launch. The WESA-X system is now ready to go, meaning you can now adjust damping and preload over the control unit as long as the tension is bigger than 12.8 volt or the motorcycle is running.
