2 INTRODUCTION USING THIS GUIDE This guide has been developed to assist you in consistently delivering memorable customer centered handovers. This guide should be used in conjunction with the appropriate Customer Personalization Record and Handover Record. Whenever you handover a new vehicle, in addition to demonstrating its features, there are some other key items that are critical in terms of ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction. These items are marked with a red flag to highlight their significance. You should take time to familiarize yourself with these features, and be prepared to comprehensively demonstrate them at the point of handover. BEFORE DEMONSTRATING VEHICLE FEATURES Before demonstrating vehicle features, make the customer aware of the location and layout of the Owner's Handbook and identify the supporting booklets provided. Please note that the Owner's Handbook is based on vehicles built to the highest level of specification and may describe features or options not fitted to their specific vehicle. Customers can also download the iguide app from the Apple App store, and Google Play store. The iguide app uses the latest augmented reality technology to explain all the need-to-know features and controls of the vehicle. The iguide app also doubles as a mobile Owner's Handbook, ensuring customers always have the answers to any questions they may have. 6 EXTERIOR SMART KEY - AND Operation and functionality of the smart key. Including: Locking. Single- and multi-point entry. Global opening. Keyless locking/unlocking operation. SMART KEY - CUSTOMER CARE POINTS Smart key operation: 1. Lock: Lock: Press to lock. The alarm arms. 2. Unlock: Single-point entry: Press once to unlock the driver's door only. A second press unlocks all of the doors and the trunk. Multi-point entry: Press once to unlock all of the doors and the trunk. Note: To switch between single- and multi-point entry, simultaneously press the lock and unlock buttons for 3 seconds. Alternatively, set via the Vehicle settings menu. See 36, INSTRUMENT PANEL - CUSTOMER CARE POINTS. Global opening: Press and hold for 3 seconds. 3. Trunk: Release, open, and close. See 8, LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT - CUSTOMER CARE POINTS. 4. Panic alarm: Activate: Press and hold for 3 seconds. Cancel: After 5 seconds, press again. 5. Headlights: Press to switch on the headlights while approaching the vehicle. The headlights illuminate for up to 4 minutes. This time period can be changed via the Vehicle settings menu. Use the emergency key if the smart key and keyless entry fail. When the battery needs replacing, the instrument panel displays Smart Key battery low. Keyless locking: Touch the sensor on the door handle. Note: Do not grip the handle, as this prevents locking. Keyless entry: Grip and pull the door handle. 6

7 EXTERIOR FUELING - AND Feuling information. Including: Refueling. Important information. FUELING - CUSTOMER CARE POINTS Refueling: 1. Press at the rear to unlatch. 2. Pull the flap to open. The correct fuel to be used is given on a label on the inside of the flap. 3. Turn the filler cap counter-clockwise to undo. 4. Store the filler cap while refueling. When replacing the filler cap, the ratchet must click into position. The filler flap must be securely latched. If the vehicle is filled with the incorrect fuel, a retailer/authorized repairer must be contacted immediately. Any damage caused from running the engine with the incorrect fuel is not covered under the warranty. LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT - AND Operation and functionality of the powered tailgate. Including: Opening and closing. Setting a maximum opening height. Gesture tailgate hands-free operation. 7

8 EXTERIOR LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT - CUSTOMER CARE POINTS AND Trunk operation: 1. Press to open, stop, reverse direction, or close the trunk. 2. Press to close or stop movement of the trunk. Note: The trunk buttons on the smart key and on the driver's side of the dashboard can also be used. Setting a maximum opening height: 1. Press button 1 to open the trunk. 2. Once the required height is reached, press the button again to stop the trunk. 3. After 3 seconds, press button 1 to set the height. Gesture trunk hands-free operation: 1. Make sure that the surrounding area is not slippery or unstable. 2. Perform a smooth kick and return gesture below one of the two sensor areas. Note: The smart key must be within 47 in (1.2 m) of the trunk. WHEEL CHANGING - Location of the tools and information required for changing a wheel or repairing a tire. 8

9 EXTERIOR WHEEL CHANGING - CUSTOMER CARE POINTS Temporary-use spare wheel, tool kit, and jack point locations: 1. Temporary-use spare wheel. 2. Tool kit. 3. Jack points: Two on either side of the vehicle. Tire repair system: Located under the luggage compartment floor panel. 1. Compressor. 2. Sealant bottle. The warnings contained within the Owner's Handbook must be read and observed before changing a wheel. 9

10 INTERIOR SEATS - AND Seat operation. Including: Electric front seats. Seat position memory feature. Folding and raising the rear seats. SEATS - CUSTOMER CARE POINTS Electric front seats operation: 1. Cushion length. 2. Bolster inflate and deflate. 3. Lumbar support. 4. Seatback angle. 5. Seat height. 6. Seat forward and rearward adjustment. 7. Cushion tilt. Seat position memory: Saving to a preset: 1. Press the M button. 2. Press one of the preset buttons within 5 seconds to store the settings. Recalling a memorized setting: 1. Press the relevant preset button. 2. The seat moves to the saved position for that preset. The steering column and door mirror positions are also memorized and recalled. See 30, STEERING COLUMN AND STEERING WHEEL CONTROLS - CUSTOMER CARE POINTS and 31, MIRRORS - CUSTOMER CARE POINTS. 10

11 INTERIOR Folding and raising the rear outboard seats: Folding: 1. Press the button on the head restraint collar and push down on the head restraint. 2. Pull the lever on the top edge of the seat and fold the seatback forward. Raising: 1. Manually raise the seatback to the fully upright position, making sure that it firmly locks into position. 2. Pull the head restraint upwards until it clicks and locks into position. Folding and raising the rear center seatback: Folding: 1. Press and hold the button at the top of the center seatback. 2. Fold the seatback forward. Raising: 1. Manually raise the seatback to the upright position. 2. Make sure that the seatback firmly locks into position. Levers for folding the rear outboard seats are also located in the luggage compartment. The rear center seatback must not be used as an armrest when in the lowered position. SEAT ANCHORAGES - AND Child seat fitment. SEAT ANCHORAGES - CUSTOMER CARE POINTS Fitment of LATCH child seats 1. ISOFIX symbol: Identifies the location of the anchor points on the outer rear seat positions. 2. To access an anchor point, lightly pull the cover forward to release it. Remove the cover. 3. Slide the child seat's locking mechanism onto the anchor points. Fitment of tether anchorage child seats: 11

12 INTERIOR 1. Raise the head restraint. 2. Pass the tether strap over the seatback, between the head restraint and the top of the seat. 3. Open the cover and securely attach the tether strap to the anchor point. Note: Tether straps must be tightened following the manufacturer's instructions. The security of any child seats must be checked. CHILD SAFETY LOCKS - AND Operation and functionality of the child safety locks feature. CHILD SAFETY LOCKS - CUSTOMER CARE POINTS AND Activating the child door locks: Press the button located on the driver's door to inhibit use of the rear interior door handles. Rear window operation is also inhibited. 12

13 STARTING AND DRIVING SMART KEY STARTING - AND The starting procedure. Including: Switching on the ignition. Starting the engine. Push button starting. SMART KEY STARTING - CUSTOMER CARE POINTS Switching on the ignition: 1. Press and hold the START/STOP button. 2. Release the button once the warning lamps illuminate. Starting the engine: 1. With either Park (P) or Neutral (N) selected, firmly press the brake pedal. 2. Press and release the START/STOP button. 3. The pedal can be released once the engine starts. A valid smart key must be inside the vehicle and not shielded by metal casing or a device with a back-lit LCD screen. Push button starting: If the message Smart Key not recognized - Reposition or place as shown and press Start button is displayed: 1. Hold the smart key flat and in the marked-out position. 2. Firmly press the brake pedal. 3. Press and release the START/STOP button. 4. The pedal can be released once the engine starts. TRANSMISSION - AND Automatic and manual gear changing. Including: Automatic gear selector operation. Manual gear changing using the gearshift paddles. 13

14 STARTING AND DRIVING TRANSMISSION - CUSTOMER CARE POINTS AND Automatic gear selector operation: P: Selects/deselects Park. D: Drive. N: Neutral. R: Reverse. S: Sport. The release button at the rear of the gear selector needs to be pressed, except when shifting between D and S. This allows the gear selector to be moved. The gear selector automatically returns to the central position, except for when S is selected. If the engine is switched off with N selected, P is automatically selected after 10 minutes. This allows enough time for the vehicle to be conveyed through a car wash. Manual gear changing using the gear selector: 1. Select S. 2. Pull the selector towards you for up-shifts. Push away for down-shifts. Manual gear changing using the paddle shifts: 1. Select either D or S. 2. Lightly pull the right-side paddle for up-shifts and the left-side paddle for down-shifts. Manual gear change requests via the paddles are only temporary with the gear selector in the D position. To revert to automatic gear changing, the right-side paddle needs to be held for at least one second. ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE (EPB) - AND Operation and functionality of the Electric Parking Brake (EPB). Including: Releasing the EPB. Applying the EPB. Important information. 14

15 STARTING AND DRIVING ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE (EPB) - CUSTOMER CARE POINTS Electric Parking Brake (EPB) operation: 1. EPB release: Press the brake pedal and press the switch down. Note: Automatically releases if a drive gear is selected and the accelerator pedal is pressed, or the gear selector is moved out of Park (P). Automatic release allows for the vehicle to pull away smoothly. 2. EPB application: Pull the switch up and release. Note: Automatically applies if the ignition is switched off with the vehicle traveling at less than 3 km/h (2 mph), or if P is selected. Driving with the EPB applied causes serious damage to the braking system. BRAKING SYSTEMS - AND Functionality of the braking systems. BRAKING SYSTEMS - CUSTOMER CARE POINTS Emergency Brake Assist (EBA): Detects if the brakes are rapidly applied. Braking force is increased to its maximum, in order to stop the vehicle as quickly as possible. As soon as the brake pedal is released, EBA operation ceases. Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD): Helps to maintain maximum braking efficiency. Balances the level of braking force supplied to the front and rear wheels, dependent on the vehicle's load. Light load: Reduces the amount of braking force applied to the rear wheels. Heavy load: Increases the amount of braking force applied to the rear wheels. Hill start assist: Smoothly releases brake pressure when the brake pedal is released during a hill start maneuver. Allows for the vehicle to pull away without rolling backwards. Does not operate if there is a fault with the Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) system. The DSC OFF warning lamp illuminates to indicate a fault. Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB): Helps to identify an imminent risk of a collision with either another vehicle or a pedestrian. Helps to reduce the severity of any such impact. Uses forward-facing cameras located above the rear-view mirror. The camera's line of sight must be kept clean and clear of any obstructions. 15

16 STARTING AND DRIVING Can be overridden by use of the steering wheel or accelerator pedal. Limitations to system operation are listed in the Owner's Handbook. Can be switched off via the Driver assistance menu. See 36, INSTRUMENT PANEL - CUSTOMER CARE POINTS. Advanced Emergency Brake Assist (AEBA): Automatically applies light braking force when an imminent collision is detected. If the brake pedal is pressed, full braking force is applied. Limitations to system performance are listed in the Owner's Handbook. High-speed emergency braking: Automatically applies the brakes if it detects that a collision with a slower moving vehicle ahead is unavoidable. Audible and visual warnings are given to alert the driver. The system has to be reset by a retailer/authorized repairer after activation. SPEED LIMITER - AND Operation and functionality of the speed limiter systems. SPEED LIMITER - CUSTOMER CARE POINTS Speed limiter operation: 1. Speed limiter/cruise control: The amber speed limiter icon illuminates when the speed limiter system is selected. Remains in stand-by mode until activated. 2. Activate/speed increase: Press to activate and set the current speed as the limit. Once activated, press and release to increase the set speed by 1 mph (2 km/h). Press and hold to increase by 6 mph (10 km/h). 3. Resume: Press to resume to the previous set speed. 4. Speed decrease: Press and release to lower the set speed by 1 mph (2 km/h). Press and hold to lower by 6 mph (10 km/h). 5. Cancel/adaptive speed limiter toggle: Press and release to suspend operation. Press and hold to switch between the speed limiter and adaptive speed limiter. Allows for a maximum speed limit to be manually set. The driver is responsible for maintaining a safe speed, within the speed limit. Adaptive speed limiter operation: 1. Speed limiter/cruise control: The amber adaptive speed limiter icon illuminates when the system is selected. Remains in stand-by mode until activated. 2. Activate/speed increase: Press to activate. Once active, press and release to increase the vehicle's speed to 1 mph (2 km/h) above the detected speed limit. Press and hold to increase by 6 mph (10 km/h). 3. Acceleration/deceleration: Press to increase the rate of acceleration/deceleration required to meet the detected speed limit. 16

17 STARTING AND DRIVING 4. Speed decrease: Press and release to lower the speed to 1 mph (2 km/h) below the detected speed limit. Press and hold to lower by 6 mph (10 km/h). 5. Cancel/speed limiter toggle: Press and release to suspend operation. Press and hold to switch between the speed limiter and adaptive speed limiter. Automatically sets and restricts the maximum vehicle speed to the detected speed, based on information from the traffic sign recognition and navigation systems. See 19, DRIVING DISPLAYS - CUSTOMER CARE POINTS and 38, NAVIGATION - CUSTOMER CARE POINTS. Detected speed limits are displayed in the instrument panel and Head-Up Display (HUD). See 36, INSTRUMENT PANEL - CUSTOMER CARE POINTS and 19, DRIVING DISPLAYS - CUSTOMER CARE POINTS. If a valid speed limit cannot be detected, the adaptive speed limiter deactivates and the speed limiter activates. CRUISE CONTROL - AND Operation and functionality of the cruise control system. CRUISE CONTROL - CUSTOMER CARE POINTS 1. Cruise control/speed limit: The cruise control icon illuminates green when cruise control is selected. 2. Speed set/increase: Press to set the current speed. Subsequent presses increase the set speed by 1 mph (2 km/h). 3. Resume: Press to resume to the previous set speed. 4. Speed decrease: Press to lower the set speed by 1 mph (2 km/h). 5. Cancel: Press to cancel cruise control operation. The driver is responsible for maintaining a safe speed, within the speed limit. Not to be used in heavy traffic situations or on roads where a constant speed cannot be safely maintained. The driver can intervene, at any time, by use of the accelerator or brake pedals. Limitations of operation are listed in the Owner's Handbook. ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL - AND Operation and functionality of the adaptive cruise control system and associated features. 17

18 STARTING AND DRIVING ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL - CUSTOMER CARE POINTS Adaptive cruise control and follow mode operation: 1. Adaptive cruise control/speed limiter: The cruise control icon illuminates when adaptive cruise control is selected. The system is in stand-by mode until activated. 2. Activate/speed increase: Press to activate the system. Subsequent presses increase the set speed. 3. Resume: Press to resume to the previous set speed. 4. Follow mode gap decrease: Press and release to decrease the set gap. Press and hold to switch follow mode off. Note: When follow mode is switched off, the adaptive cruise control system does not provide any braking. The driver must apply the brakes, if required. 5. Speed decrease: Press to decrease the set speed. 6. Follow mode gap increase: Press to increase the set gap. If follow mode was previously switched off, press to switch back on. 7. Cancel: Press to cancel follow mode, but retain the set speed in the memory. Adaptive cruise control and follow mode: Monitors the lane ahead. If a slower vehicle is ahead, the system automatically adjusts the speed so that the set follow mode gap is adhered to. Not to be used in heavy traffic situations or on roads where a constant speed cannot be safely maintained. The driver can intervene, at any time, by use of the accelerator or brake pedals. The amount of braking force applied by the system is limited. The driver must apply the brake pedal if the message DRIVER INTERVENE is displayed. Limitations of operation are listed in the Owner's Handbook. Queue assist: Works in conjunction with adaptive cruise control and follow mode. Operates at lower speeds and follows the vehicle ahead to a standstill. To be used in slow-moving lines of traffic. Forward alert: Can be switched on and off via the Driver assistance menu. See 36, INSTRUMENT PANEL - CUSTOMER CARE POINTS. Monitors the area in front of the vehicle and sends audible and visual warnings to the driver if an object is detected. The driver is responsible for taking the appropriate action. The sensitivity of the system can be adjusted via buttons 4 and 6. DRIVING DISPLAYS - AND Operation and functionality of the traffic sign recognition and Head-Up Display (HUD) features. 18

19 STARTING AND DRIVING DRIVING DISPLAYS - CUSTOMER CARE POINTS Traffic sign recognition: Can be switched on and off via the Driver assistance instrument panel menu. See 36, INSTRUMENT PANEL - CUSTOMER CARE POINTS. The camera at the rear of the rear-view mirror detects traffic/road signs and displays a corresponding symbol in the instrument panel. Note: The area in front of the camera must be kept clean and free of obstructions. There are three main features: Speed limit detection, speed alert, and no overtaking zone. Speed alert: Additional visual warnings are displayed to warn the driver that the vehicle's speed is at or above the detected speed limit. Speed alert can be set to warn the driver if the vehicle's speed is: Above the detected sign. 5 mph (10 km/h) above the detected sign. 10 mph (20 km/h) above the detected sign. Limitations to performance are listed in the Owner's Handbook. If no signs are detected, speed limit information supplied from the navigation system is displayed. Setting the position of the Head-Up Display (HUD): 1. Select the Head-up display menu. See 36, INSTRUMENT PANEL - CUSTOMER CARE POINTS 2. Select Position. 3. Follow the on-screen instructions. 4. Once set, press OK. Driver information is projected onto the inside of the windshield. The Head-up display menu allows the driver to: Adjust the brightness of the display. Select features to be displayed. Switch the system on and off. Follow all on-screen instructions and operate via the left-side steering wheel controls. See 30, STEERING COLUMN AND STEERING WHEEL CONTROLS - CUSTOMER CARE POINTS. DRIVING AIDS - AND Operation and functionality of the driving aid systems. DRIVING AIDS - CUSTOMER CARE POINTS Blind spot monitor with closing vehicle sensing: 1. Vehicle warning icon: Illuminates in the relevant door mirror(s) when a passing or rapidly approaching vehicle is detected. If a turn signal is used, in preparation for a lane change maneuver in that direction, the icon flashes to warn the driver. 19

20 STARTING AND DRIVING 2. System status icon: Illuminates when the system is disabled. Blind spot monitor system: Monitors the area adjacent to the vehicle (approximately 8 ft (2.5 m) to either side) and up to 20 ft (6 m) behind. Closing vehicle sensing: Monitors the area adjacent to the vehicle and up to 230 ft (70 m) behind. Enable/disable via the Driver assistance menu. See 36, INSTRUMENT PANEL - CUSTOMER CARE POINTS. Blind spot assist: Works in conjunction with the blind spot monitor system. If a maneuver is attempted when a potential collision has been detected, the steering wheel vibrates. Enable/disable via the Driver assistance menu. Forward traffic monitor: Works in conjunction with the surround camera system. Detects vehicles approaching from either side when driving forward out of an intersection/ parking space. The driver must press the camera icon when approaching the intersection/exiting a parking space to activate the system. See 37, TOUCHSCREEN - CUSTOMER CARE POINTS. Note: The system is not autonomous. The driver must remain alert and be ready to intervene, if necessary. The vehicle warning icon illuminates on the relevant side of the touchscreen when a potential side impact is detected. An audible alert also sounds. Note: The touchscreen display, either the camera or parking aid view, depends on which system is currently selected. Touch the camera icon to display camera images from the front/sides of the vehicle. Touch the bird's eye view vehicle graphic to display the parking aid screen. Detected vehicles have a time to collision of 1 to 4 seconds. Rear traffic monitor: Works in conjunction with the rear camera system. Detects vehicles approaching from either side that may pose a collision risk when reversing. Enable/disable via the Driver assistance menu. The driver must remain alert and be ready to intervene, if necessary. The vehicle warning icon illuminates on the relevant side of the touchscreen when a potential impact is detected. Note: The touchscreen display, either the camera or parking aid view, depends on which system is currently selected. Touch the camera icon to display a rear-view camera image. Touch the bird's eye view vehicle graphic to display the parking aid screen. Lane departure warning: Switch on/off via the button, located on the driver's side dashboard. Tracks the vehicle to make sure that the lane boundaries are not crossed unintentionally. The lane departure warning icon illuminates in the instrument panel when active. The icon changes color to indicate system status: Gray: Lane boundaries are not being tracked. Green: Lane boundaries are being tracked. Red: Lane boundary has been crossed. If the vehicle crosses a lane boundary without use of the appropriate turn signal, the steering wheel also vibrates to alert the driver. Lane Keep Assist (LKA): Works in conjunction with the lane departure warning system. Two options are available if the vehicle is in danger of crossing a lane marking. From the Driver assistance and Lane Keep Assist (LKA) menus, select either: Steering vibrate: The steering wheel vibrates. Steering assist: Applies corrective steering inputs. 20

21 STARTING AND DRIVING Driver condition monitor: Audible and visual warnings are given if the system evaluates that the driver is fatigued, based on driving technique. If the driver ignores the initial warnings, the white driver condition monitor icon changes to amber and another audible alert is given after 15 minutes. The icon remains illuminated until the OK button on the steering wheel controls is pressed. Enable/disable via the Driver assistance menu. Note: Limitations to performance of the driving aids systems are listed in the relevant sections of the Owner's Handbook. DRIVING MODES - AND Operation and functionality of the driving modes. DRIVING MODES - CUSTOMER CARE POINTS Driving mode operation: 1. The driving mode controls are located on the center console. 2. Use the arrow buttons to scroll through the driving modes. 3. The selected driving mode icon illuminates. 4. The instrument panel displays a temporary confirmation message and the relevant driving mode icon. Note: The comfort driving mode icon does not display in the instrument panel. Dynamic mode: Delivers a more dynamic driving experience. Comfort mode: Reverts the vehicle's systems to the normal driving settings. ECO mode: Delivers a more efficient driving style and helps to reduce fuel consumption. Some vehicle features are automatically adjusted to achieve this, e.g., heated/climate seats. A full list is given in the Owner's Handbook. Rain/Ice/Snow mode: 21

22 STARTING AND DRIVING Enhances vehicle stability in low grip and adverse weather conditions. Adaptive Surface Response (AdSR): Detects different surfaces and responds to enhance stability and progression accordingly. STABILITY CONTROL - AND Operation and functionality of the stability control systems. STABILITY CONTROL - CUSTOMER CARE POINTS All Surface Progress Control (ASPC): 1. Enable/disable: Two modes are available: Descent control mode: The default mode. The system applies the brakes to control the vehicle's speed when traveling down a steep hill. The speed is determined by the current driving mode selection. Full function mode: Controls the vehicle's speed when making difficult maneuvers, e.g., ascending a steep hill or traveling on unstable/slippery surfaces. Note: The driver's seat belt must be buckled and all of the doors closed. 2. Activate/speed set/speed increase: Press to activate full function mode. Press to set to the current vehicle speed or increase the speed gradually. The vehicle progresses gradually to the set speed. Note: The brake pedal should be applied if setting the desired speed from stationary. 3. Resume: Press to resume to the previous set speed. 4. Speed decrease: Press to decrease the set speed. 5. Cancel: Press to cancel full function mode and enter descent mode. ASPC: Allows for the vehicle's speed to be set and controlled during difficult maneuvers. The driver must maintain full control of the steering and brakes throughout the maneuver, and be ready to intervene at all times. Works in both forward and reverse directions. Can be set when the vehicle is in motion or from stationary. Light application of the accelerator or brake pedals overrides the system temporarily. As soon as the pedal is released, the set speed is resumed. Limitations of the system can be found in the relevant section of the Owner's Handbook. Dynamic Stability Control (DSC): Automatically switches on when the ignition is switched on. Helps to maintain vehicle stability in critical driving conditions, such as understeer, oversteer, and when wheel spin is detected. 22

23 STARTING AND DRIVING Can be switched off. Press and hold the DSC OFF button for more than 3 seconds. The button is located on the center console. To switch back on, press and releases the button. Note: A list of situations where it may be required to switch DCS off is given in the Owner's Handbook. TracDSC: An alternative setting to DSC, with reduced system intervention. Must only be used by experienced drivers, with sufficient skill and training. Must only be selected for dry tarmac surfaces. Switching from DSC to TracDSC: Press and hold the DSC OFF button for less than 3 seconds. TIRES - AND Tire care. Tire pressure label location. Checking the tire pressures. Tire replacement. TIRES - CUSTOMER CARE POINTS Tire care: All tire pressures must be checked regularly for damage, wear, and distortion. If unsure about the condition, contact a tire repair center or retailer/authorized repairer. The maximum pressure stated on the sidewall of the tire must not be exceeded. It is recommended to check the tire pressures when the tires are cold. Tire replacement: Only a retailer/authorized repairer must remove the tires and fit replacement tires. The tires must not be rotated. It is recommended that all replacement tires are of the same specification as the original tires. Tire pressure label: The label shows the recommended pressures for light load and full load conditions. Checking the tire pressures: 1. Remove the valve cap from the tire. 2. Attach the inflation hose. 3. Read the pressure from the gauge and add air, if required. 4. Remove and reattach the inflation hose to get an accurate reading of the new pressure. 5. If the pressure is too high, remove the hose and press the center of the valve to release air. 6. Once the correct pressure is reached, replace the valve cap. 23

24 STARTING AND DRIVING TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM (TPMS) - AND Instrument panel tire pressure check. TPMS vehicle load configuration. Important information. TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM (TPMS) - CUSTOMER CARE POINTS Instrument panel tire pressure check: The tire pressures can be viewed via the Vehicle info menu. See 36, INSTRUMENT PANEL - CUSTOMER CARE POINTS. Displays the last known pressure for each tire and the recommended cold inflation pressure in brackets. Can be configured to display as bar, psi, or kpa. Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) vehicle load configuration: The TPMS must be configured to correspond with the vehicle's loading conditions and the associated recommended tire pressures: 1. Switch on the ignition. The engine must not be running. See 13, SMART KEY STARTING - CUSTOMER CARE POINTS. 2. Select the Vehicle info menu. 3. Select Tire information, followed by TPM load setting. 4. There are two settings: Light load and Normal load. Light load: Up to three occupants. Normal load: More than three occupants. 5. Make sure that the tire pressures are correct for the vehicle's current load. See 23, TIRES - CUSTOMER CARE POINTS. The TPMS constantly monitors the pressure in each tire. Illumination of the TPMS warning lamp indicates low pressure. The TPMS does not re-inflate the tires or register any damage. The pressures should still be checked regularly as part of the recommended safety checks. See 23, TIRES - CUSTOMER CARE POINTS. Tires must be replaced by a retailer/authorized repairer to avoid damaging the TPMS valves or sensors. PARKING AIDS - AND Operation and functionality of: Park assist. Parking aids. 24

25 STARTING AND DRIVING PARKING AIDS - CUSTOMER CARE POINTS AND Park assist: 1. Park assist icon. 2. Parallel Parking. 3. Perpendicular Parking. 4. Parking Exit. Note: Only operates when exiting a parallel parking space. Note: The driver must use the turn signals to signal which side the vehicle needs to exit from. 5. Cancel Park Assist. Assists with parking maneuvers. Auto-searching only activates at speeds of less than 18 mph (30 km/h). A 1.6 ft to 4.9 ft (0.5 m to 1.5 m) gap must be maintained between the vehicle and the row of parked vehicles when searching. Automatically searches for parking spaces on the passenger side. To search on the driver's side, the driver must indicate to turn in that direction. The driver must maintain full control of the accelerator and brake pedals. Holding or turning the steering wheel cancels the maneuver. Parking aid: 1. Accesses the settings menu. Allows for various parking aid features to be switched on and off. 2. Enables/disables the system. 25

26 STARTING AND DRIVING 3. The vehicle's steering path, based on the position of the steering wheel. 4. Sensor detection zones. 5. Camera view selection: Rear camera: Displays a rear-view camera image. Surround camera: Various views can be selected, including a 360 view. 6. Warning tone volume decrease for the current maneuver only. Note: The volume level for all maneuvers can be adjusted via the media volume control. Visual and audible warnings alert the driver if objects are detected when parking. Detected objects are displayed as colored blocks: Gray: Not a collision threat. Yellow/Amber/Red: Collision threat. The color indicates the distance to the vehicle, with red being the closest. The warning tones increase in speed as the vehicle gets closer to the detected object. The tone becomes continuous when the object is within 12 in (30 cm). The parking systems are driving aids only. The driver must remain alert and be ready to intervene, if required. Some objects may not be detected, e.g., objects close to the ground or moving objects such as children or animals. The sensors must be kept clean and free from obstructions. Limitations to performance are listed in the Owner's Handbook. STOP/START - AND Operation and functionality of the stop/start system. Including: Stop/start operation. Triggering an auto stop. Triggering an auto start. Driver exit. STOP/START - CUSTOMER CARE POINTS AND Stop/start operation and functionality: Automatically stops and restarts the engine. Designed to improve fuel efficiency. Stop/stop automatically activates when the ignition is switched on. Press the stop/start button to deactivate/reactivate the system. Triggering an auto stop: When coming to a standstill, fully press the brake pedal. An auto stop is not always initiated. Limitations to performance are listed in the Owner's Handbook. Driver exit: Detects if the vehicle is left in a driveable condition after an auto stop and switches the ignition off if: The driver's seat belt is unbuckled and the driver's door is opened with Drive (D), Sport (S), or Neutral (N) selected. The driver's seat belt is unbuckled with Park (P) selected. EXHAUST FILTERS - AND Exhaust filter information. Including: Exhaust filter functionality. Regeneration drive cycle process. Associated warnings. EXHAUST FILTERS - CUSTOMER CARE POINTS Exhaust filter: Captures and stores exhaust particles. Reduces exhaust emissions emitted into the environment. Automatically self-cleans regularly whilst the vehicle is being driven. The self-cleaning process is known as a regeneration drive cycle. A successful regeneration drive cycle is dependent on vehicle speed, driving conditions, and engine temperature. Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) regeneration drive cycle requirements: The vehicle needs to be driven at steady speeds between 37 mph and 70 mph (60 km/h and 112 km/h) for 10 to 20 minutes. Regeneration can occur at slower speeds but may take longer. Some driving conditions, e.g., regularly traveling short distances in slow-moving traffic or in cold weather may not be sufficient to start or complete the regeneration process. Note: Inform the customer that if traveling short distances in slow moving traffic is a regular occurrence, a regeneration cycle may have to be initiated. Failure to regenerate may ultimately result in the exhaust becoming blocked. To initiate a regeneration, the customer should drive the vehicle above 37 mph (60 km/h) for 20 minutes. Exhaust filter warning symbols: The exhaust filter warning symbol indicates the status of the filter: Amber: The filter is starting to become full. Regeneration is required. Follow the regeneration drive cycle guidelines. Red: The filter is full and may need replacing. Contact a retailer/authorized repairer. Green: Regeneration has been successful. DIESEL EXHAUST FLUID (DEF) - AND Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) information. Including: DEF filler tank location. Top-up procedure. Important information. 27

28 STARTING AND DRIVING DIESEL EXHAUST FLUID (DEF) - CUSTOMER CARE POINTS Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) tank location: 1. Open the fuel filler flap to access the DEF tank. 2. Rotate the DEF tank filler cap counter-clockwise to remove. Note: A socket drive can be used for added leverage, if required. Hand tighten only when refitting. DEF top-up procedure: 1. Place the refill bottle over the tank's aperture and turn clockwise to lock into position. 2. Press the base of the bottle until completely emptied into the tank. 3. Turn counter-clockwise to remove. Important information: DEF is used in order to achieve the correct exhaust emissions levels. DEF is also known as AdBlue, AUS 32, and ARLA 32. The correct specification of DEF must be used. The DEF tank must be maintained at the correct level. The average consumption rate is dependent on driving style and road and weather conditions. The distance left until the tank is empty and the volume of DEF required for refill can be viewed via the Vehicle info menu. See 36, INSTRUMENT PANEL - CUSTOMER CARE POINTS. When the DEF level becomes low, the instrument panel displays warning messages. The tank should be refilled as soon as possible. A full DEF refill must be completed by a retailer/authorized repairer. SERVICE REQUIREMENTS - AND Important information regarding service requirements. 28

Traditionally, a service would be due after a vehicle has reached a certain mileage or elapsed time. The flexible service on your vehicle takes into account individual driving styles and conditions to determine when a service is due. Your vehicle is fitted with a service interval indicator in the instrument panel. When a service is due, and when the ignition is switched on, the relevant service message and estimated distance to the next service is displayed. On completion of a service, the instrument panel countdown feature is reset. 29

STEERING COLUMN AND STEERING WHEEL CONTROLS - CUSTOMER CARE POINTS Steering column adjustment: 1. Electrically adjustable: Tilt: Move the control up and down. Reach: Move the control forwards and rearwards. Note: Movement continues until the control is released or the steering column reaches either the minimum or maximum position. Note: Up to 3 steering wheel positions can be saved and recalled for individual preferences. See 10, SEATS - CUSTOMER CARE POINTS. 2. Manually adjustable: Unlock: Rotate the control counter-clockwise. Adjust: Manually move the steering wheel to the desired position. Both the tilt and reach positions can be manually adjusted. Lock: Rotate the control clockwise. Right-side steering wheel controls: 1. Heated steering wheel. 2. Sets the current speed or increases the set speed for the speed limiter and cruise control systems. 3. Decreases the set speed for the speed limiter and cruise control systems. 4. Resumes to the previous set speed. 5. Follow mode decrease gap. 6. Follow mode increase gap. 7. Cancels or suspends operation of a feature or system. 30

The steering wheel position must not be adjusted while the vehicle is in motion. The steering wheel controls must only be operated when it is safe to do so and when it is not likely to distract the driver. MIRRORS - AND Operation of the door mirrors. Functionality and activation/deactivation of the mirror dip feature when reversing. MIRRORS - CUSTOMER CARE POINTS Door mirror operation: 1. Press the required door mirror button. Use the toggle to adjust the height and angle of the mirrors. Note: The door mirror positions can be saved along with the seat and steering column positions. See 10, SEATS - CUSTOMER CARE POINTS. 31

Mirror dip when reversing: When Reverse (R) is selected, the door mirrors automatically adjust to a preset dipped position to improve the viewing angle. Note: The preset position can be adjusted and saved via the driving position memory feature. R must be selected. See 10, SEATS - CUSTOMER CARE POINTS. The mirrors return to their previous settings once R is deselected. Activation/deactivation is set via the Vehicle settings menu. See 36, INSTRUMENT PANEL - CUSTOMER CARE POINTS. AUTOMATIC HEADLIGHTS WITH AUTO HIGH BEAM ASSIST (AHBA) - AND Operation and functionality of the exterior lights. AUTOMATIC HEADLIGHTS WITH AUTO HIGH BEAM ASSIST (AHBA) - CUSTOMER CARE POINTS Lighting control operation: 1. Side lights. 2. Dipped beam headlights. 3. Continuous high beam. 4. High beam flash. 5. Automatic activation of the vehicle's lighting to suit road, traffic, and ambient lighting conditions. 6. Switches the lights off. 7. Rear fog lights: Turn towards the steering wheel to switch on and off. Daytime Running Lights (DRL): Automatically switch on in bright, daytime conditions. The lighting control must be in the OFF or AUTO position. Headlight courtesy delay: The headlights remain illuminated for up to 4 minutes after the ignition is switched off. The time delay can be changed via the Vehicle settings menu. See 36, INSTRUMENT PANEL - CUSTOMER CARE POINTS. The lighting control must be in the AUTO position. Windshield wiper detection: The side lights, tail lights, and headlights automatically switch on if the windshield wipers have been operating for 20 seconds or more. The lighting control must be in the AUTO position. The lights automatically switch off 2 minutes after the windshield wipers have been switched off. 32

33 FROM THE DRIVER'S SEAT Auto High Beam Assist (AHBA): Automatically switches the headlights between high beam and dipped beam, when conditions dictate. The lighting control must be in the AUTO position. Can be enabled/disabled via the Vehicle settings menu. Conditions that may affect operation of the system are listed in the Owner's Handbook. Bend lighting: Automatically adjusts the headlight beams when cornering to improve the driver's view of the road ahead. The lighting control must be in the AUTO position. WIPERS - AND Operation of the wipers and washers. Wiper service position for replacement of a wiper arm. WIPERS - CUSTOMER CARE POINTS Wiper/washer operation: 1. Rain sensing mode: Automatic operation of the windshield wipers. Wiper frequency is determined by the level of rain detected and the sensitivity setting of the collar (2). 2. Sensitivity control. 3. Windshield continuous low speed wipe. 4. Windshield continuous high speed wipe. 5. Windshield single wipe. 6. Windshield wash and wipe. Wiper replacement: 1. Switch the ignition on and off. See 13, SMART KEY STARTING - CUSTOMER CARE POINTS. 2. Move the wash/wipe control to the single wipe position (5). Hold the position and switch the ignition on. 3. The wipers move to the service position. It is now safe to change the wiper blade. 4. Once replaced, switch the ignition off. 5. The wipers return to the normal parked position. The wipers must not be lifted from the windshield while in the normal parked position. The smart key must be inside the vehicle. Replacement wiper blades must be of the same specification as the original blades and must be replaced in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions. 33

Pull the front of the switch to close. 2. Rear window isolator button. See 12, CHILD SAFETY LOCKS - CUSTOMER CARE POINTS. The windows feature an anti-trap protection system. If an obstruction is detected, window movement stops. SUNROOF - AND Functionality and operation of the sunroof and blinds. SUNROOF - CUSTOMER CARE POINTS Sunroof/roof blind operation: Note: All switches operate in two stages. Lightly press and hold to manually move to the required position. Movement stops when the switch is released. Firmly press and release for one-touch operation. 1. Sunroof: Press the rear of the switch to tilt the roof. Repeat to fully open. Press the front of the switch to close. 2. Roof blind: Press the rear of the switch to open. Press the front of the switch to close. 3. Rear screen blind: Press the button to raise/lower. Front reading lights: Briefly touch the lens to switch on/off. 6. Front courtesy light: Briefly touch the lens to switch on/off. 7. Rear footwell lights. 8. Rear door puddle lights: Illuminate automatically when the door is opened. 9. Rear reading lights: Press to switch on/off. 10.Rear courtesy light. 11. Luggage compartment light: Illuminates automatically when the boot is opened. Automatic mode: Touch and hold the lens (6) until the light flashes. All of the interior lights, except for the glovebox and vanity mirror lights, automatically illuminate when the vehicle is unlocked or a door is opened. The lights extinguish 20 seconds after the doors are closed, or when the vehicle is locked. Instrument illumination: Can be adjusted via the control on the driver's side of the dashboard. Note: The exterior lights must be switched on while changes are being made. Interior lighting adjustment: The color and intensity can be adjusted via the EXTRA FEATURES menu. See 37, TOUCHSCREEN - CUSTOMER CARE POINTS. Note: The exterior lights must be switched on while changes are being made. Stealth mode: Lowers the level of interior illumination to aid with night-time driving. Enabling stealth mode: 35

Virtual instrument panel: Instruments are visible only when the ignition is switched on. The driver can change the display layout via the Display menu. The information panel for both types can be configured to suit personal preferences via the Display menu. Instrument panel menu controls: Select MENU to view the menu options. Scroll through the options using the up and down arrows. Press OK to select. The right-side arrow accesses the sub-lists. Press and release the left-side arrow to return to the previous menu, and press and hold to exit the menus. Warning/information lamps and messages: Display in the instrument panel. There are three levels of warning/information lamps: Red: Immediate action is required. Refer to the Owner's Handbook. Amber/Yellow: Refer to the relevant lamp in the Owner's Handbook, as these can indicate a number of different things. Some may require action. Blue/Green: Indicate a system's status. Warning/information messages are displayed in order of importance. Appropriate action must be taken to rectify the cause. 36

37 SYSTEMS TOUCHSCREEN - AND Touchscreen information. Including: Operation and functionality of the touchscreen. Changing the vehicle's settings. TOUCHSCREEN - CUSTOMER CARE POINTS AND Touchscreen HOME menu: Allows access to the vehicle's main features and the infotainment systems. Lightly touch the relevant soft key or icon to view, adjust, or connect to the selected feature. Note: Do not use excessive pressure when touching the screen. Incorporates several touch gestures, including a swipe action, drag and drop function, and pinch in and out for zoom features. Swipe the screen to the left to view additional features available via the EXTRA FEATURES menus. Swipe to the right to set up, view, or edit personalised homepages. Personal preferences may be added and deleted. Use the drag and drop function to rearrange screen widgets. Each MY HOME page can be renamed to individual users. Status icons indicate the status of connected features: Phone, internet, and heated/climate seats. The settings icon allows for the home settings, audio settings, general settings, language and keyboards, and system settings to be viewed or adjusted. To return to the HOME screen, touch the home icon. Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the screen. Changing the settings: 1. Touch the settings icon to display the SETTINGS pop-up menu. 2. Three options are available: Home settings, Audio settings, and All settings. Home settings: Select to make changes to the HOME screen display. Note: This changes to the settings for the currently selected screen. For example, when the PHONE screen is displayed, the Phone settings option is given. Select to make changes to the currently selected system settings. Audio settings: Select to adjust the audio output and sound settings. All settings: Select from three options: General, Features, and Languages and keyboards. All settings menus: 37

38 SYSTEMS GENERAL SETTINGS: Select to view or change the Time and date, Display, Screensaver, Master PIN, Legal information, and Data collection information (if set). FEATURES: Select to view, adjust, or change the settings for the vehicle's features, e.g., Navigation, Climate, Voice, and InControl Apps. The available features are market dependent and vehicle specific. LANGUAGES: Select to set the system's language, choose the gender for the voice system, and to view or add keyboards. NAVIGATION - AND Operation and functionality of the navigation system, including: Navigation menu selection. Setting a destination. NAVIGATION - CUSTOMER CARE POINTS To select the NAVIGATION menu, touch Navigation on the HOME screen. Select the navigation menu icon. See 37, TOUCHSCREEN - CUSTOMER CARE POINTS. Setting a destination: 1. Select Search. 2. Type the destination details into the search box. 3. Select the required destination from the list. 4. Touch Start. Viewing Points Of Interest (POIs): 1. Select Places. 2. Choose from the list of categories and sub-categories. 3. Select the required POI. Note: Additional information for the POI is displayed, e.g., the phone number and address, and the nearest parking lot. On first use, it is advised to set up personal preference via the navigation settings. See 37, TOUCHSCREEN - CUSTOMER CARE POINTS. Different navigation map views are available: 2D, 3D, North facing, and Satellite. Note: The Satellite view requires an internet connection. During guidance, other options are available to make the trip easier. For example, the map can display traffic delays, next maneuvers, and/or a compass display. 38

Using the phone handset, search for Bluetooth devices. 3. When the vehicle is discovered, follow the on-screen instructions. 4. When prompted, select Yes to confirm the pairing. A list of compatible phones can be viewed at via the OWNERSHIP section. Paired phones can be used for phone or media operation, or both. Manage operation via the settings menu. Touch the relevant power icon. 4. Adjust the temperature via the red (increase temperature) and blue (decrease temperature) arrows. 5. To select a specific seat zone, touch the seat zone icon. Three options are available: Top, Base, and All of the seat. VOICE CONTROL - AND Operation and functionality of the voice control system. VOICE CONTROL - CUSTOMER CARE POINTS Voice control operation: 1. Press to activate/deactivate voice control. 2. A list of commands is displayed as step-by-step guidance. Say the required command clearly. 3. The exit icon cancels voice commands for the current session. Manual inputs can still be made. Voice control allows the user to utilize infotainment systems by saying simple commands. No manual inputs via the buttons/icons are required. A tutorial on how to use the system is available. Press the voice button and, after the tone, say voice tutorial. For assistance, at any point, say the relevant command: Help, cancel, go back, or replay. 41

HD RADIO AND SATELLITE RADIO - CUSTOMER CARE POINTS Accessing the satellite radio menu: 1. From the SELECT SOURCE screen, select the satellite radio option. 2. The SIRIUS XM menu is displayed. Satellite radio operation: 1. Song scan. Each song plays for 5 seconds. Touch Play to listen to the song. 2. Menu options for finding a channel. Search alphabetically, by genre, or by entering the details via the displayed keyboard. 3. Favorite channels list. 4. Media menu. 5. Previous available channel. 6. Save/delete the currently playing/highlighted channel in the favorites list (3). 7. Next available channel. 8. Volume mute. 9. More menu options: Menu shortcuts, playlist selection, news/travel updates, and live audio pause, rewind, and replay. 10.Live coverage of the currently playing channel. 11. Press and release to skip to the next song. Press and hold to fast forward through the song. 12.Play or pause play. 13. Once the trial period has ended, call the displayed Sirius XM phone number to subscribe. 2. Select channel 0 to access the required Sirius XM ID. Accessing the HD radio: 1. Select the settings icon. Satellite radio: A free complimentary trial subscription to Sirius XM is available on Channel 1. Lists can be displayed alphabetically, or in carousel or grid view. HD radio: Provides improved audio quality for the AM/FM radio via digital broadcasts. In areas with poor reception, the radio may switch between digital and anolog connection. If signal is lost when listening to multicast services, audio is muted. MEDIA HUB - AND Media selection. Media connection and compatibility. Software updates. Media connection and compatibility: Portable media devices require connection via the media hub in the center console. USB memory sticks, ipods, ipads, MP3 players, and media that supports an HDMI or MHL connection are compatible with the media hub. Devices connected to the USB port are charged. A micro SIM card can be connected to the SIM card reader in the media hub for vehicle systems that require a data connection. For example, the navigation system. CD AND DVD - CUSTOMER CARE POINTS AND CD and DVD operation: 1. Load the CD/DVD into the loading slot, located directly below the touchscreen. 2. From the touchscreen HOME menu, select Media. See 37, TOUCHSCREEN - CUSTOMER CARE POINTS. Note: If accessing from a screen other than the HOME screen, select the Source option. 3. The SELECT SOURCE screen is displayed. Select the required source: Media library (CD) or DVD. 4. Once loaded, operate via the touchscreen, the left-side steering wheel controls, or via the voice system. 45 INCONTROL INCONTROL ACCOUNT: REGISTER, CONNECT, ACTIVATE - RETAILER TO CARRY OUT Details for registration, connection, and activation of an InControl Protect account by the retailer. INCONTROL ACCOUNT: REGISTER, CONNECT, ACTIVATE - CUSTOMER CARE POINTS AND The retailer must carry out the following actions to register, connect, and activate an InControl account for the user: Registration: 1. Register the customer details via the InControl Admin website. The vehicle's VIN is also required. Note: Accessed via the Dealer Communication portal. 2. Prompts the retailer to connect the vehicle to the account. The vehicle needs to be in an area with good mobile reception. Note: This stage can be completed later. If intending to complete later, do not select Get Started. Connection: 1. Select Get Started. 2. When prompted, press the Jaguar assistance call button for at least 10 seconds. See 46, INCONTROL: OVERHEAD CONSOLE BUTTONS - CUSTOMER CARE POINTS. 3. The button flashes rapidly at first and then slows when attempting connection. 4. On release of the button, a long flash followed by a short flash indicates successful connection. Activation: 1. Confirm the customer details on the website. 2. An activation is sent to the customer. The customer must open the activation and accept the Terms and Conditions to complete the activation process. Advise the customer to download the Jaguar InControl Remote smartphone app to enjoy all of the associated features. The app can be downloaded from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
