2 Introduction This is an assembly manual for EXOrac 60-6 to be used with the drawings in the Supplement to Assembly document provided herewith. EXOrac 60 (compatible with 60 cell modules) comes in sections of 6 EXOrac frames (EXO 60-6). Each EXOrac frame accommodates a 60 cell PV module mounted in landscape with a maximum dimension of L 1700 mm X H 1000 mm X T 40mm PWRstation recommends that the assembly be performed by at least two (2) persons. A trained team should assemble a unit in 20 mins, including cabling the modules. Always follow your local and/or State health and safety regulations while performing this assembly. Packing of an EXO 60-6 An EXO 60-6 is shipped semi-assembled. Each pallet comes with 6 EXO 60-6 below is a breakdown of the items shipped per box: a) Pantograph A b) Pantograph B c) Module bars d) Module connectors e) Hardware (no shown below, comes in a box) 2

3 Sequence of Assembly The following is best performed by at least two people. Two people connect the top and bottom horizontal bars to the PV module, then present the PV module in front of the pantographs and corresponding holes and secure the module to the pantograph using the supplied hardware. 1. Connecting the top horizontal bars to the PV modules 2. Connecting the bottom horizontal bars to the PV modules 3. Connecting the PV modules to the pantographs Required Tools You will need the following tools and hardware not supplied: Allen wrench key size 3/16 and 5/32 3

4 Details of Assembly TORQUE TORSION APPLIED TO HARDWARE WHILE TIGHTENING IS 10 NM OR LBFT. Preparing the PV Modules Refer to the Module Preparation page in the Supplement to Assembly document. 1. Start by laying your PV module face down on a work table 2. Connect the top horizontal bar to a PV module using the short connector (fig 1) a. Using a connecting bar b. Measure the center of the bar c. Measure the center of your PV module d. Identify the mounting hole of your PV module e. Slide in short connector in horizontal bar f. Align the center of your PV module with the center of the bar g. Using the 5/32 Allen wrench key, secure connector to the module using the hardware as per Detail 1.0 of drawing Module Preparation h. The connector will lock the bar in place once secured to the module 3. Connect the bottom bar to the PV module using the long connector (fig 2) a. Using the 5/32 Allen wrench key, secure long connector to module using hardware as per Detail 2.0 of drawing Module Preparation b. Using a connecting bar c. Measure the center of the bar 4

5 d. Measure the center of your PV module e. Slide the bar in the hooks of the long connector f. Align the center of the PV module with the center of the bar g. Using the Allen wrench key 3/16, lock the bar in place using hardware as per Detail 3.0 of drawing Module Preparation Connecting the module to the pantographs Refer to the Pantographs Connection page in the Supplement to Assembly document. 1. Open and hold Pantograph A as per details of Pantographs Connection with connectors (Insert #1 through 6) facing you. 2. Present a PV module with the PV cell facing outward at the front of Pantograph A 3. Insert the top horizontal bar (reference drawing Module Preparation in Supplement to Assembly document) in Insert Insert the bottom horizontal bar (reference drawing Module Preparation in Supplement to Assembly document) in Insert 1b. 5. Using the Allen wrench key 3/16, secure the bolt already in the Connectors of insert 1 and 1b (see fig 3 below) 6. Using the Allen wrench key 3/16, tightened the bolt on the other side of the bar (see fig 3 below) 7. Repeat above steps 2 through 5 for Pantograph B 8. The first PV module is secured Repeat above steps 1 through 6 for the other 5 remaining modules. 5

6 Securing PV module cables Always connect the modules as per your system design and local/state regulations. Depending on the location of the junction box of your PV modules and length of the PV module cables, there may be a need to secure the cables to the frame. Opening EXO 60-6 Using one person on each side of the EXO 60-6 gently pull frame 1 and 6 away from each other until system is fully extended. Closing EXO 60-6 Before closing an EXO 60-6 all electrical cabling must be secured so that it will not be damaged and will not obstruct the full closing of the EXO Once any cabling is secured the alignment clips should be removed before the EXO 60-6 is closed. Remember to safely store the clips. Using one person on each side of EXO 60-6 gently and evenly push frames 1 and 6 toward each until the EXO 60-6 is fully closed. REMINDER: ALWAYS SECURE ELECTRICAL CABLES AND REMOVE ALIGNMENT CLIPS PRIOR TO CLOSING THE EXO
