2 Please note a few things before beginning: Installation Manual for Standard front steer IFS Check the parts list thoroughly to be sure all items are there. If any items appear to be missing immediately call our tech department. Remember, you must call within 30 days of receipt or you may be responsible for missing parts. Do not begin installation until all parts are received. This will make it much easier to complete the installation These instructions serve merely as a guideline. Scotts Hotrods can only assume this installation will be done at a qualified installation shop or by a qualified installer. These instructions will guide you step by step through the basics; however Scotts Hotrods cannot accept any liability for differences in this instruction manual, and your particular vehicle. Scotts Hotrods recommends that all items to be welded be done so by a certified welder. We also recommend TIG welding all items. Review our warranty online at Tools recommended for installation: Complete Standard socket set Adjustable wrench Safety glasses Ear protection Soap stone or other marking utensil Complete Standard Allen Wrench set Level Tape measure Wire brush

3 Before beginning installation take these safety precautions: Wear ear protection and safety glasses at ALL times Do not work in a messy environment. A clean work place is a safe work place If your car/truck has a battery in it, disconnect it. USE SOLID JACKSTANDS. DO NOT WORK UNDER A CAR WITH A JACK ONLY. DOING SO CAN RESULT IN DEATH OR INJURY When welding always use a hood and gloves. Flash burn can not only cause irritation, but permanent eyee damage. Be safe and good luck Final installation notes: It is assumed that prior to installation you have already installed your Scott s IFS. If thiss step has not been done, call Scotts Hotrods Tech Dept at (805) and ask about your specific application. Different frames require different frame boxing procedures.

4 installation 1. Set the lower A arms level. This is the starting point of your suspension and will be the starting point of your sway bar. On a Scott s IFS your vehicle is at ride height with the lower a arms being level to the ground. If this is not the case in your application, call our tech line. 2. Bolt the heim ends to the sway bar bungs that are welded to your lower a arms; this location will vary. You will have 4 tapered spacers/washers that go under the head of the bolt. Next, bolt the other end of the heim to the sway bar. In most applications the sway bar is located in front of the IFS crossmember, not behind. See the image below for orientation of the spacers and hardware.

5 Installation cont: 3. The sway bar should be parallel with the lower a arms in order to mount the frame bracket/bushing to the frame. 4. Mount the bushings/bracket to the sway bar in line with the frame rail. Drill a 7/16 hole in the frame rail only if your frame rail is accessible to mount a nut to the back side. If it is not there are 2 options. The first option is to drill and tap your frame rail for 7/16 hardware. The second option is to recess the supplied 7/16 in the frame and weld in place. 5. If your sway bar kit cam with offset brackets, these will already have the correct mounting holes drilled in place. In this case, your bushing will line up with the supplied brackets to mount to the inside to your frame rail.

6 6. Adjust your heims so that the sway bar runs level and does not interfere with any frame sections throughout its travel
