1 MATERIAL SPECIFICATION COMPARISON SHEET PROJECT TITLE : LUSAIL EXPRESSWA PROJECT CODE : (2012/18) P-003 SUBMITTAL TITLE : MATERIAL APPROVAL MATERIAL SOURCE : UK PROPOSED MATERIAL : ISOLATION VALVES FOR LUSAIL SW PUMP STATION MANUFACTURER / SUPPLIER : AVK-GLENFIELD / Specification Clause / Reference Specification Requirement Proposed Material Specification Compliant ( or N) QCS 2010 Section 8 Part 5 Valves, Penstocks and Appurtenances 5.3 SLUICE VALVES 1 These specifications are applicable to all sizes of sluice valves larger than 80 mm diameter. Sluice valves shall be of the following types. (a) Potable and treated sewage effluent - 80mm diameter up to and including 300mm diameter, to BS 5163 with resilient seating. Not applicable as the proposed valves are Metal seated as per clause (b) and also as per clause 8.4 N (b) All other uses other than (a) above, 80mm diameter up to and including 1,000mm diameter to BS EN 1171metal seated. Proposed Gate Valves are metal seated to BS EN 1171 and with BS 5163 face to face dimensions. 2 Valves shall be of the double flanged cast iron wedge-gate type unless otherwise stated. Valves shall be cast iron body with renewable gun metal faces on body and wedge and bolt-on cast iron bonnet. All exposed valves shall be of the rising stem type unless otherwise specified or shown on the Contract Drawing. Rising stem valves shall also incorporate a combined yoke. Valves shall close clockwise. Offered Gelenfield series 37/46 (rising stem designsizes up to DN 300) are with ductile iron body and Gunmetal seats. Series 54/31 gate valves are double flanged with ductile iron wedge with aluminum bronze (CC331G) seats on body and wedge. Offered gate valves incorporate a bolted bonnet and combined oke. (Applicable only for rising stem design valves and not applicable for non-rising stem gate valves). Valves shall close clockwise.

(c) where rising stem valves are subject to submergence the extension spindle shall also be of the rising type with the threaded portion positioned above top water level.
