6 Zone 1-Controller (Pit) Safety-SOPs The Controller will be versed in all operations and procedures. No one will perform any duties of a Controller unless certified as a Controller or in training to be a Controller with a certified Controller or Supervisor directly supervising that person. The Controller will oversee operations to ensure all positions are being followed per manual. 1. Controller duties include, but are not limited to performing the following items: 2. Assist guests onto the attraction; be aware of items such as loose articles, hats, phones, etc. If any loose articles are noticed, politely ask the guest to remove them before the ride 3. Once guest is seated, attendant will fasten safety belt ensuring the buckle is around their waist and not their chest. 4. Controller will move to the front of the pit and give/receive the designated thumbs up from all Assistant Controllers verifying the ride is clear and ready to be released. The Controller will release karts only after all Assistant Controllers are in proper locations and have verified all clear by visually giving the designated thumbs-up and the ride timer has been reset 5. Controller or Pre-loader will advance karts in pit after ride begins (must be completed before first kart gets to base of hill) 6. Monitor spiral to base of hill to ensure all guests abide by posted rules 7. If a wreck occurs, move as quickly and safely as possible and follow the procedures for properly fixing a wreck. Never turn your back on the karts. 8. If a wreck of any severity occurs on the hill or base of the hill, the Red Kart Kommander button MUST be pressed by the Controller. 9. Once red lights illuminate, direct karts into pit (double karts in row one, single karts from second lane to fourth lane). 10. Once Zone 3-Assistant Controller visually gives the designated thumbs-up indicating all karts have returned to the pit, press the bottom Exit Recording button. 11. Perform all duties of Pre-loader in addition to above listed duties when operating with a four man crew
