We are confident that you will find that the RoadHog is the easiest to operate, safest, most durable, and most efficient milling or sweeping attachment on the market. This manual contains the operating instructions and safety information for your RoadHog. This manual can provide you with assistance in maintenance procedures to keep your RoadHog performing at maximum efficiency. Before operating your RoadHog, read the information in this manual. Throughout this manual, information is provided in boxes and highlighted by the word IMPORTANT. This information should be read carefully. If complied with, it will improve the operating efficiency of the unit and minimize costly breakdowns and extend the life of the machine. This warning symbol appears throughout this manual and indicates that a safety hazard may exist if the information given is not properly followed. When the warning signal is encountered in the manual or on the unit, BE ALERT! Your personal safety is involved! For more copies of this manual or the necessary safety decals, contact your RoadHog dealer. The RoadHog model number and serial number are stamped on an identification plate. This plate can be found the left rear side of the machine near the loader attach mounting bracket. Please have the model number and serial number when contacting your dealer or RoadHog for parts or service. Page

4 A. GENERAL INFORMATION. Introduction Your RoadHog is equipped with high performance, heavy duty components. To ensure that these components operate properly and effectively, this manual must be followed. If any question regarding the operation or performance of this attachment exists, contact your RoadHog dealer. This manual contains safety instructions, guidelines for efficient operation, troubleshooting tips, and service maintenance procedures.. Direction Reference When applicable, the terms right and left are referenced from the operator s seat, facing forward in the loader.. Servicing Drive Train Components Detailed repair of the drive train components such as hydraulic pumps, motors, and gearboxes is not covered in this manual. Contact your RoadHog dealer for information about repairing these components during the warranty period. Any unauthorized work performed on these components during the warranty period may void your warranty. Page

WARNING NEVER USE YOUR HANDS OR OTHER BODY PART TO CHECK FOR HYDRAULIC FLUID LEAKS. ESCAPING FLUID UNDER PRESSURE CAN PENETRATE THE SKIN CAUSING SERIOUS INJURY. IF HYDRAULIC FLUID PENETRATES THE SKIN, SEEK TREATMENT FROM A DOCTOR FAMILIAR WITH THIS TYPE OF CONDITION OR SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH MAY RESULT. a routine basis; Always use a piece of cardboard when searching for leaks. 7. Always follow the MANDATORY SAFETY SHUTDOWN procedure, before working on the attachment.. Exposed moving parts are guarded whenever possible for safety. However, not all moving parts can be shielded in order to ensure proper operation. Keep hands and feet away during operation. Do not operate unit with any guard or shield removed. 9. General Safety A careful operator is the best protection against accidents. Most accidents involving operators of industrial equipment are caused by failure to observe basic safety precautions. Know the equipment and work site before you operate. Familiarize yourself with the safety precautions listed below. RoadHog makes operator safety a priority when designing machinery. Exposed moving parts are guarded whenever possible for safety. However, not all moving parts can be shielded in order to ensure proper operation. This operator s manual and safety decals on the machine provide important safety information when observed closely If safety decals become difficult to read, replace them immediately. (See Safety Decals ). Familiarize yourself with the safety precautions listed below.. Read and observe all safety information and decals on the loader and attachment BEFORE operating the unit!. Refer to the SAFETY section of your loaders operator s manual and observe all safety recommendations set forth in the manual.. Exercise extreme caution when attaching and removing the attachment, operating with other workers present, and servicing the unit.. When loading, keep attachment as low to ramps & trailer as possible.. Always lower the loader arms fully before leaving the operator s seat. 6. 6 . Safety Decals The safety decals existing on the attachment should be clearly readable and always followed. The location of the decals is shown in the parts diagram. Replace any safety decal that is missing or damaged. The READ MANUAL decal warns the operator to read this manual before operating the attachment.. Mandatory Safety Shutdown Procedure WARNING BEFORE OPERATING THIS EQUIPMENT, READ AND UNDERSTAND THE FOLLOWING SAFETY INFORMATION. EACH INDIVIDUAL WORKING WITH THE EQUIPMENT SHOULD BE FAMILIAR WITH THE SAFETY PRECAUTIONS. WARNING FAILURE TO FOLLOW THE SAFETY PROCEDURES BEFORE CLEANING, ADJUSTING, LUBRICATING, OR SERVICING THIS UNIT COULD RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH. The FLYING OBJECTS decal warns the operator the operator and bystanders to stay away during operation. The INJECTION HAZARD decal warns the operator and bystanders to stay away during operation. BEFORE cleaning, adjusting, lubricating, or servicing this unit, ALWAYS follow the MANDATORY SAFETY SHUTDOWN PROCEDURE:. Lower loader arms and roll attachment forward until it is flat on level ground.. Apply loader parking brake and stop the loader engine.. Cycle controls to relieve pressure within the auxiliary hydraulics lines.. Remove loader key and keep with you while working on the attachment.. Disconnect auxiliary hydraulic lines from loader.. Mounting and Dismounting Get on or off the loader only at locations equipped with hand holds and steps. Keep the steps and hand holds clean and inspect for damage. Make necessary repairs. Maintain point contact and face the loader and attachment when mounting or dismounting. DO NOT get on a moving or operating broom or attachment. NEVER jump on or off a running attachment or loader. The CRUSHING HAZARD decal warns the operator and bystanders to stay away during operation. Page 6

7 C. OPERATION WARNING THE FOLLOWING PRECAUTIONS MUST BE OBSERVED FOR THE SAFETY OF THE OPERATOR AND BYSTANDERS.. Set Up Although the broom attachment is supplied fully assembled, some simple checks should be performed before operation begins. Safety Decals The safety decals existing on the attachment should be clearly readable and always followed. The location and description of the decals is shown in the parts diagram. Copies of the decals are shown in Safety Decals section. Hydraulic Couplers The broom may have been shipped without the required hydraulic quick couplers. Obtain correct brand and size and install them on the hoses. to the skid steer quick couplers. While attachment is on the ground, visually inspect quick coupler to ensure pins are extended. 6. Connect the wiring harness.. Safe Broom Operation Always follow the safety and operating information in this manual. Only operate the attachment from the seat of the loader. Always follow the weight limitations of the loader. Do not remove guards and shields. Do not sweep near or toward people, vehicles or buildings that may be injured or damaged by flying debris. Wear Eye protection around the attachment. Carry the attachment low to the ground. Do not carry passengers. Hoses / Fittings Hydraulic fittings are used to connect all attachment hoses. All fittings should be tight and free of leaks. Hoses must be free of crimps or cuts that might result in leakage. Check your attachment before operation to make sure all hose routings are kink-free and allow for movement during sweeping and dumping operations. Wire Harness The wiring harness to the optional water spray kit pump should be routed to prevent catching or pinching when sweeping or dumping operations.. Attaching To Loader WARNING NEVER CRAWL UNDER RAISED LOADER ARMS OR ATTACHMENT To attach the Broom to the loader. Start the loader engine and rotate the coupler out. Retract the coupler pins.. Move the machine forward and align the coupler between the outer mounting bracket plates. Pick up the attachment with the top bar.. Rotate the attachment back and engage the coupler pins. Ensure coupler pins are completely down and engaged. Always refer to operating instructions in the skid steer manual.. Engage loader parking brake and stop the engine. Cycle the controls to remove pressure in the auxiliary hydraulic lines. Exit machine.. Clean quick couplers if dirty. Connect hydraulic hoses are Page 7

8 . Operating Tips-Sweeping Only use broom on compatible loaders. Loader flow must not exceed gallons per minute. DO NOT USE high flow hydraulics. Loader relief pressure must not exceed 00 psi. Consult loader manual for flow and pressure specifications. Do not engage the broom hydraulics with the loader engine at high speed. Engage hydraulics at low engine speed and gradually increase engine speed. Do not reverse sweeping direction without stopping broom hydraulics. Limit forward and reverse travel speed to mph. Adjust brush to give a - wide pattern. (See maintenance section) Adjust rubber front and side skirts to be within / of the ground. Slow down in heavy material. Allow time for the broom to sweep. Avoid excessive down pressure on the broom. Carry bucket so bolt-on edge is above ground line. Bucket should not contact ground, only broom. When sweeping forward, rotate the brush so material is pushed away from the loader and over the broom into the bucket. (See illustration below.). Operating Tips-Dumping WARNING THE FOLLOWING PRECAUTIONS MUST BE OBSERVED FOR THE SAFETY OF THE OPERATOR AND BYSTANDERS. STAY AWAY FROM POWER LINES. Always check clearances before lifting broom. Carry loaded bucket low to dump site. Raise bucket slowly to the required dump height, roll broom forward to dump bucket. 6. Operating tips - Optional Water kit Check the strainer bowl daily for dirt and debris. This debris can plug the nozzles. Check nozzles daily for debris. Remove and clean plugged nozzles. 7. Operating tips - Gutter Brush kit Only use gutter brush in forward direction. Adjust height using retention chain so gutter brush bristle tips are touching the ground. When not in use for a short period of time, raise the gutter brush - above the ground with the retention chain. When not in use for long periods of time, remove the gutter brush and connect the primary broom motor directly to the loader hydraulics.. Storage BRUSH ROTATION TRAVEL DIRECTION When Sweeping backward, rotate the brush so material is pushed toward the loader and into the bucket. (See illustration below) Follow the loader manufactures instructions to remove the broom attachment. DO NOT store the polypropylene brush wafers in direct sun light. The material can deteriorate. Raise broom housing and take weight off of broom wafers. Store broom with bucket stop pins in the lowest position to relieve ground pressure on broom core. BRUSH ROTATION TRAVEL DIRECTION Page

9 D. MAINTENANCE WARNING FAILURE TO FOLLOW THE SAFETY PROCEDURES BEFORE CLEANING, ADJUSTING, LUBRICATING, OR SERVICING THIS UNIT COULD RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH.. General Proper maintenance of the attachment will result in longer life and more productive and cost effective operation. There are two basic categories of maintenance, lubrication and broom wafer maintenance.. Lubrication Grease the following lube points weekly. Lubricate all grease zerks with an EP Lithium NLGL No. grade grease. One example is Mobilux EP. Broom shaft bearing zerk. This zerk is located on the right side of the broom shroud. It can be accessed through the wafers. Broom Shroud pivot zerks. These two zerks are located at the top rear of each side of the bucket and should be greased weekly. Right side bearing. These two zerks are located on the bearing located on the right side of the broom. Grease either of the two zerks, both do not need greased.. Checking and Adjusting the Broom Pattern. The brush pattern should be checked and adjusted every hours or daily. To check and adjust the pattern:. Move the broom to a dusty flat surface.. With the loader at low throttle, start the broom motor.. Slowly lower the broom until it is the operating position. (bolt-on edge is off of ground).. Keep the broom in this position for 0 seconds. Do not move loader.. Raise broom, stop the broom motor, and move the loader back several feet. Lower broom to ground, set loader brake and dismount loader. 6. Measure pattern width left by broom. Pattern should be - wide. 7. To adjust pattern, carefully prop up the broom shroud assembly. Remove the two bent leg pins.. Move the two stop pins to a different hole location and replace the two bent pins. To widen the pattern move the stop pins up. To narrow the pattern move the stop pins down. (See illustration below). Removing Broom Wafers See parts diagrams for pictures.. Place broom on the ground and perform mandatory shutdown procedure.. Remove side rubber skirt retainers.. Remove motor guard hardware and motor guard plate.. Remove bearing guard hardware and bearing guard plate.. Remove motor plate to broom housing hardware and remove motor subassembly. 6. Remove bearing plate to broom housing hardware. 7. Using hoist, raise broom housing off of broom core. Roll broom core away from bucket.. Remove end retainer from one broom core end. 9. Remove wafers.. Replacing Broom Wafers See parts diagrams for pictures.. Stand broom drum on end with one retaining plate assembled. Place retaining plate on ground.. Install a new wafer making sure wafer retention pins are trapped on broom drum bar.. Install more wafers alternating steel and poly wafers. The retention pins on consecutive wafers should alternate 0 degrees and be trapped by opposite bars.. Install last wafer and install broom drum retaining plate. Carefully lay the core on it s side.. Move core under broom housing and lower housing on core. 6. Replace bearing plate and motor plate hardware. Tighten hardware. 7. Replace motor and bearing guard plates and hardware. Tighten hardware.. Reinstall rubber skirting and side skirting retainers. Page 9

10 Tighten hardware. 6. Removing and Replacing Motor See parts diagrams for pictures.. Place broom on the ground and perform mandatory shutdown procedure.. Remove left side rubber skirt retainer.. Remove and cap motor hoses.. Remove motor guard hardware and motor guard plate.. Remove motor subassembly from broom housing. 6. Remove coupler bolt and loosen coupler set screw. Remove coupler from motor shaft. 7. Remove motor gasket plate hardware, gasket plates, and gasket.. Remove motor can hardware and remove motor. 9. Reassemble in reverse order. 9. Fastener Torque Specifications Unless otherwise specified, all bolts to be torqued as follows. BOLT SIZE TORQUE (lb.-ft.) /-0 UNC /6- UNC 7 /-6 UNC 0 7/6- UNC 0 /- UNC 7 /-0 UNF 90 /- UNC 0 /-0 UNC 60 7/-9 UNC 0 - UNC 60 /-7 UNC Removing and Replacing Bearing See parts diagrams for pictures.. Place broom on the ground and perform mandatory shutdown procedure.. Remove right side rubber skirt retainer.. Remove bearing guard hardware and bearing guard plate.. Remove bearing plate to broom housing hardware.. Loosen bearing lock collar with a drift punch and hammer. Counter clockwise loosens collar. 6. Remove bearing and bearing plate. 7. Remove bearing plate to bearing hardware to remove bearing.. Reassemble in reverse order. To tighten bearing lock collar, use hammer and drift punch. Clockwise movement tightens collar. Page 0

21 . Warranty Statement Warranty Statement Phone RoadHog, Inc. warrants its products, when used correctly under normal operating conditions, will be free from defects in materials and workmanship. This warranty shall be for a period of months for parts and labor from the date the product is placed into service, providing RoadHog is supplied with the in service date. The warranty shall not apply to any products that have been altered, changed, or repaired in any manner whatsoever, except by an authorized RoadHog repair facility: nor to any product that has been subject to misuse, negligence or accident. The exclusive and sole remedy for breach of contract shall be limited to repair, modification or replacement at the sole discretion of RoadHog. RoadHog shall not in any event be liable for the cost of any special, direct or indirect consequential damages to anyone. RoadHog reserves the right to make changes or improvements in the design or construction of any part without incurring the obligation to install such changes on any previously delivered units. RoadHog makes no other warranty, expressed or implied. Warranty will not be allowed for failure due to the following: normal wear and tear, abuse or accident, modification of the original design or equipment, improper training, service or maintenance. RoadHog warranty does not apply to drive belts or ground engaging parts ( drums, teeth, holders, bases and other consumables) unless the wear is determined by RoadHog to have been caused by an engineering or manufacturing defect. Major components ( i.e. engines, ECMs, clutches, gearboxes, pumps, motors and valves ) must not be disassembled when a possible warranty situation arises without prior written authorization from RoadHog. Unauthorized disassembly of these major components will void any warranty. Parts Return Policy New and unused parts may be returned up to months after purchase without a restock fee. Returns within to months after purchase are subject to a % restock fee. An RGA must be obtained from RoadHog before returning any stock. Parts will be returned prepaid and shall have a packing list and all parts clearly marked, in good condition. Claim Administration Procedures RoadHog must be contacted immediately regarding a warranty repair. Always have the serial number of the unit available to give to the RoadHog representative. If parts are needed, an RGA will be given at this time. A purchase order number may be requested by RoadHog for any part that is determined as non-warranty and will be billed at normal dealer net prices. ANY OVERNIGHT FREIGHT CHARGES WILL BE PAID BY THE DEALER, RoadHog will pay ground freight. In the event RoadHog requests that parts be returned for warranty inspection, an RGA must be obtained and the defective parts returned with the RGA number clearly marked on the boxes. Return these parts prepaid via UPS ground to RoadHog for examination. Labor will be credited at 7% of published dealer shop labor rate. Mileage will be reimbursed at $.00 per mile. Travel time is not reimbursed. All claims must be submitted as soon as possible on a RoadHog claim form, with the internal dealer work order(s) attached. Credit will be issued when warranty has been approved. All credits will be issued to in credit memo form. No cash payments will be made. Page
