6 Standards and Classification Societies The W22 rane of marine motors are supplied in compliance with the eneral rules of the main marine classification societies, members of IACS (International Association of Classification Societies). Essential Service Essential or Primary Essential Services are those services that need to be in continuous operation for maintainin the vessel s manoeuvrability with reard to propulsion and steerin. Essential services are also those services that need not necessarily be in continuous operation for maintainin the vessel s manoeuvrability, but which are necessary for maintainin the vessel s functions and the safety of people - emerency services included. Examples of equipment which can be classed as Essential Service: Propulsion motors and shaft enerators, motors for steerin ear, anchor winches, thruster motors (e.. for drill ships), lubrication and coolin pumps and enine startin compressors. Non-Essential Service Non-Essential Services are all other applications that are not listed for essential services and which do not represent any potential daner to the safety or steerin of the vessel.
