3 INTRODUCTION These Technical Regulations have been registered with the FFSA (Fédération Française du Sport Automobile) under the organisers permit number C58, dated February 14, These Technical Regulations have been written in such a way as to describe what is authorised and not what is forbidden. The reader must always bear in mind that no modifications are permitted unless they are expressly authorised by the following: - The Technical Regulations covering the Rally Cup, - Appendixes and additives to these Technical Regulations, R2 assembly and technical bulletins. The Technical Regulations and Appendices will be published at The assembly and technical bulletins will be published in the Technical Documentation section of Worn or damaged components may only be replaced by original Peugeot parts (in the case of original or standard parts), by Peugeot Sport or by optional Peugeot Sport parts (specific parts) from Peugeot Sport s catalogue for the 208 R2. Entrants are entirely responsible for the technical conformity their vehicle for the duration of Rally Cup qualifying events, from preliminary technical scrutineering until the publication of the official results. All work on the vehicle must be carried out in compliance with the procedures described by Peugeot (in the case of original or standard parts) or by Peugeot Sport (specific parts), and in strict compliance with the Technical Regulations. Peugeot Sport reserves the right to modify the technical specification of the 208 R2 or the Technical Regulations covering the Rally Cup. Competitors will be informed of such modifications by means of additives to these regulations published on the Peugeot Sport website ( The official language for the interpretation of these Technical Regulations is French Rally Cup Technical Regulations

4 ARTICLE 1 Definition and identification of eligible vehicle 1.1 Vehicle type Only the Peugeot 208 R2 may be used to compete in the 208 Rally Cup. Participating 208 R2s may only be assembled using the specific 208 R2 parts kits and 208 R2 options sold by Peugeot Sport and original standard parts designed for this car in compliance with applicable assembly instructions and in accordance with the constraints described in the Technical Regulations. The use of any parts not included in the Peugeot Sport 208 R2 kit or not a 208 R2 option is forbidden (e.g.: quick-release hoses, steel plate-type thermal protection, etc.). The following parts may be fitted freely in compliance with the regulations published by the FFSA: - Brake pedal pad - Driver and co-driver footrests - Windscreen reservoir and pump - Fixation of the bumpers to their mountings - Tripmaster and mounting bracket - Map light and mounting bracket - Jack and bracket The vehicle must comply with the Technical Regulations published by the FFSA and with FIA homologation document N A5743, including the latest amendments as updated for each round. ARTICLE 2 Scrutineering and technical checks 2.1 Technical scrutineering At preliminary technical scrutineering, scrutineers will check safety equipment, identification elements and sealed parts. At technical scrutineering checks carried out before each event, comments may be noted in the vehicle s FFSA technical passport. These comments must be addressed by the Entrant prior to preliminary technical scrutineering for the following event Rally Cup Technical Regulations

5 2.2 Technical checks Technical checks may be carried out by scrutineers at any time during a 208 Rally Cup qualifying competition in order to verify that vehicles comply with these Technical Regulations. Accordingly, technical scrutineers may carry out any check or comparison, take any sample, or undertake any performance measurement concerning all or part of the car to ensure that it complies. ARTICLE 3 Integrated roll cage The body shell and its roll cage constitute safety equipment which has been approved and homologated by the FIA. All modifications to the roll cage are prohibited. Forbidden modifications include any machining, welding or treatment of the cage of a type which results in a permanent modification to the material used for the cage or to its construction. Repairs to the roll cage are not permitted. Any damaged roll cage must be replaced. It must be possible to clearly identify the chassis via the body shell number on at least one of the tubes that make up the cage. ARTICLE 4 Engine, fuel and mapping 4.1 Approval and engine sealing Any engine used to participate in the 208 Rally Cup must have been assembled or revised, and sealed by Peugeot Sport via one of its engine partners (either Oral Engineering or Sodemo). Engines must be sealed by either Peugeot Sport or its technical partners. Any competitor whose 208 R2 is not equipped with a perfectly sealed engine (with cylinder-head cover and oil sump seals in perfect condition, including the numbers referring to the engine in question) will not be authorised to start the 208 Rally Cup. All seals are the responsibility of the Entrant. However, their presence does not constitute proof of an engine s conformity. Accordingly, within the framework of conformity checks, the engine s performance characteristics may be checked and the engine may be stripped Rally Cup Technical Regulations

6 Should a competitor need to replace a seal in the course of an event (to carry out mechanical work, for example), they must point this out in advance to the scrutineer delegated to follow the 208 Rally Cup. Any removal of a seal in the course of an event without the scrutineer in attendance, without the approval of the scrutineer or, if that is not possible, a member of Peugeot Sport staff, will result in the exclusion of the competitor from that round of the 208 Rally Cup. 4.2 Maintenance Peugeot Sport s engine will not seal any 208 R2 engine that has not been built or maintained by them. 4.3 Fuel Only lead-free 98-octane petrol available at ordinary pumps and complying with the specification of France s Chambre Syndicale du Raffinage may be used. The use of any other fuel, even blended with the above type of fuel, or of an additive is expressly forbidden. Entrants must take all necessary steps to ensure that a fuel sample of at least four litres can be taken for the vehicle s fuel tank at any time during an event for analysis purposes. Samples will be taken and analysed in compliance with the procedure described in the general prescriptions of the FFSA. 4.4 Engine mapping Only the engine mapping specified in the specification sheet drawn up by Peugeot Sport for 98-octane lead-free petrol is authorised. 4.5 Engine Control Unit and data logging The Magneti-Marelli SRA engine control units must not be moved from their original position. Scrutineers must be able to connect to these control units at any time during an event. By connecting to these control units, they are able to use stored data during conformity checks. It is the responsibility of the Entrant to ensure that the Ethernet connection and wiring remain in working condition. It is forbidden to delete any data stored in the 208 R2 s control units during a round of the 208 Rally Cup (from preliminary technical checks to post-event scrutineering) Rally Cup Technical Regulations

7 ARTICLE 5 Lubricants Use of the following lubricants is mandatory: - Engine oil: Total Quartz Ineo First 0w30 (ref: PS97727A10) - Gearbox oil: Total H50168B (ref: 1C A) - Power steering fluid: Total Fluide LDS (ref: ) ARTICLE 6 Transmission Use of the technical specification indication in the specification sheet is authorised. A single specification may be used, irrespective of the type of surface: - Final drive ratio: 13x54 (medium). Ref: CPL Differential ramps: 35/65. Ref: F There is no limit to the number of friction plates, so long as it is within the number specified by the homologation approval. ARTICLE 7 Suspension and brakes 7.1 Suspension Adjustment of the car s suspension settings and geometry is authorised on the condition that only adjustable parts marketed by Peugeot Sport for the 208 R2 are used, in compliance with the specification sheet that covers the event in question. Only dampers marketed by Peugeot Sport for the 208 R2 are authorised. No modifications may be made to their exterior or interior, in compliance with the specification sheet that covers the event in question. The front and rear anti-roll bars specified by the specification sheet for a particular type of surface may be disconnected or removed. The front anti-roll system is that described on page 9 of the 208 R2 manual (E10, front suspension). The rear anti-roll system is that described on page 8 of the 208 R2 manual (E20, rear suspension). 7.2 Brakes The use of brake discs and pads covered by the specification sheet for the type of surface in question is mandatory Rally Cup Technical Regulations

8 ARTICLE 8 TYRES 8.1. Asphalt rallies Competitors may use up to eight pre-registered MICHELIN tyres (19/60-16), spare tyres included. The types authorised are: - Pilot Sport R11 - Pilot Sport R21 - Pilot Sport R31 The re-cutting of the tyres tread pattern and the use of different types of tyre on the car at the same time are authorised Gravel rallies: Competitors may use up to eight pre-registered MICHELIN TZ90 tyres (16/64-15), spare tyres included. The re-cutting of the tyres tread pattern is authorised. During rounds of the 208 Rally Cup, chemical treatment of the tyres surface or the use of tyre warming devices (heated blankets, for example) are not authorised ARTICLE 9 Weight 9.1 Minimum weight The minimum weight of the 208 R2 is 1,030kg. The minimum weight of the 208 R2 is the weight at any moment during an event (excluding the driver, co-driver, their helmets and HANS devices, including a single spare wheel, tools and spare parts carried inside the car, with the fuel tank and windscreen washer reservoir empty). Tools and spare parts carried inside the car must be firmly fixed in place behind the driver s and co-driver s seats. The minimum weight of the 208 R2 with the crew and equipment on board is 1,190kg. The competitors must comply with these two points for the duration of the event. 9.2 Ballast The vehicle s weight may be adjusted using one or more ballast weights on the condition that such ballast takes the form of solid, one-piece blocks fixed in place using tools and positioned underneath floor of the cockpit. 9 The competitor must inform the scrutineer that the car is carrying ballast at preliminary technical checks so that any seal(s) may be inspected or made. ARTICLE 10 Equipment 10.1 Interior equipment The use of a 330mm-diameter Sparco steering wheel (ref: 1E A) or another type of Sparco steering wheel is mandatory Safety equipment The following safety equipment is mandatory: - Sparco Circuit VTR seat (ref: 00892FNR) or Sparco Circuit Plus seat (ref: 00813FNR) or any other seat from the Sparco range - Sparco six-point harness belts (ref: 3U1A27603A) - Aluminium four-litre Sparco automatic fire extinguisher (ref: 0146EA4011) - Two-kilogram hand-held Sparco fire extinguisher (ref: PS97690A10) Assembly of the automatic fire extinguisher In order to comply with Article of Appendix J, the use of antitorpedo tabs (ref: 3T3C43572B) or of the automatic fire extinguisher mounting brackets now provided with the Sparco automatic fire extinguisher kit is mandatory. The layout of the fire extinguisher system must comply with the instructions specified in the supplier s manual. Furthermore, with regard to the engine compartment, the layout must comply with the following illustration. The use of Rilsan straps to fix nozzles is not permitted on their own. It is mandatory to fix all of the system s nozzles to a solid mounting (plastic or metal plate, or equivalent) using metal collars, or nuts and bolts Rally Cup Technical Regulations

10 10.4 Protection of roll cage tubing underneath the roof Protective foam for the roll cage from FIA Technical List N 23 must be applied in compliance with the illustration below.
