5 Environmentally Friendly. Eagle s goal is to reduce haul-off from all of its plants to a minimum. Today, Eagle surpasses any other concrete tile manufacturer in its recycling activities. The following are a few of the measures we take to be environmentally responsible. Reject tile is crushed and reintroduced into the manufacturing process. All wet-mix materials are re-introduced into the manufacturing process, including water and oxides. The tile mold release oil purchased is recycled from restaurant fryers. The oil is vegetable based. A low-nox process is employed in our tile curing chambers. All Eagle tile sealers are water based. Synthetic oils are used on machinery when possible due to their long life-span. Industrial wash-down water is recycled and re-used. Trash that cannot be recycled is compacted to reduce landfill deposits. Wood tile pallets are repaired and re-used whenever possible. Eagle chooses the most environmentally responsible technology available when purchasing new equipment. Energy Efficient In addition to the inherent energy efficiency of concrete, a proper installation allows for attic and tile space ventilation. An Eagle concrete tile roof can help reduce the precious dollars spent on air conditioning and heating a real benefit considering the escalating costs of electricity and fuel. Efflorescence Temporary light patterning may appear on darker tiles. This is caused by efflorescence and occurs naturally as seen on sidewalks, and brick walls when alkaline deposits gravitate to surfaces exposed to moisture. The surface of every Eagle tile has been treated to minimize efflorescence. If it should occur on your roof, it should disappear completely after additional exposure to rain.
